I just received a wonderful gift from my step kids yesterday- the hot pot base and sauces “fly by Jing”. Can’t wait to taste it. I’m from Chengdu as well.
For most of my life I would always pick the ethnic eatery that was filled with customers of that ethnicity. But in Los Angeles I take pride in my fellow Angelinos when these heavily ethic kitchens have patrons from different ethnic backgrounds; like entire Mexican families gorging on AYCE Korean BBQ, or a group of cops at lunchtime sitting at the Sushi gobbling up Uni and geoduck. In your videos case there was an older white guy chowing down on Hot Pot as if was as natural for him to eat as a grilled cheese sandwich would be. I love it.
I lived in China Sichuan province for 1 1/2 in the city of Chengdu, also home of the panda. The spice is real there and a nearby city called chongqing is even more intense! Some delicious gems to be found along with some real experemental stuff too. Most hot pot there made me feel a little sick because everything is swimming in oil, but it’s a pleasant journey until that point hits lol. Great stuff as always man, I admire your shows!
Mark tasting one of spiciest Chinese cuisine, Sichuan, and after ordered extra spicy, he said, it just has some good spices on it. Looks like that he didn't want to be rude to chinese spicy food but it's obviously its not spicy for him as he later on added more chili 😂😂😂

That's what I love about "Melting Pot" countries like the US. So many cultures mashing together you can find a lot of beautiful places in 1 spot.
