    The image quality is truly amazing. I think the 03 unit would be fantastic on something like a sub 250g AOS 3.5 or similar frame that has very low resonance. Nice video 👍

    I think a few factors contributed to you having jello. First of all the low sun creating challenging lighting condition with high contrast. Not using a ND Filter causing the shutter to be fairly high resonating with the vibrations of the drone and of course the mechanical part with low diameter (probably out of balance) props spinning at high RPM creating high freq noise. I'd start with putting fresh props on and maybe if possible higher the PWM Frequency in BLHeli32Suite. After that get an ND Filter to lower the shutter speed

    Norfolkian ('pom') on the Barrier Reef! Know how viscious the winter Sun can be there, never leaving the car windows, from morning to night! The slight 'jello' did not surprise me but I was surprised by what must be 'lens flare', moving accros the glass like a 'bog demon' EVEN when the Sun was nowhere in the FOV! Can not say I have noticed it on any of the footage from numerous Insta360 (Twin Cam) videos, whats your experience (Insta360) in that paddock at a similar time, on a winter's day?

    What are those black side bars on the side showing up randomly? Is the O3 camera loose? Or was it because of stabilization software? For the vibrations, check for loose screws, loose props, bent props, loose motor bells, vertical bell movement or PID maybe under tuned. O3 is sharp.

    • @seb-depp
      @seb-depp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the frame. They are more pronounced when he switches to the view of the goggles but they're there as well when showing the recording from the O3 itself.

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah for the test there were two options, mount on the original mounts and be too far back that the frame is in view mostly in the googles view... or mount on the carbon frame with worse damping and with the camera far forward, sticking out with no protection. I went for the safer option. At least this video highlights one downside of this system, that the camera is an awkward size and won't fit or work well in some frames, but hey ho this will inspire the frame designers to make new designs. Looking forward to the developments.

  • @Bengy22
    @Bengy22 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I personally don't really see a huge upgrade from the caddx vista vs this new unit. BUT I would really like the recording on camera system and not at the goggles, that's a game breaker for me so its easily worth the extra cost (roughly $90 usd for me)

    • @JohnIn2SonAZ
      @JohnIn2SonAZ ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a huge difference, In many ways. But you need the OLED Goggle to see it FPV Wise. It's as much of an improvement as old analog was compared to the first DJI HD System.

    Thanks Andy for sharing this video. I bought a DIY O3 and I had problems when trying binding it to my Googles V2 after updating them both to the latest firmware. As I saw in your video I had to connec the AU to the FC before trying binding it to the goggles.

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I dont think its essential but it does need a power supply to bind, so you might as well just connect it all up before trying to bind.

    Hi nice build. Doest 03 heat up too much. Will it melt the TPU customs mounts?

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, no I havent had any issues where it heats up enough to melt anything, they do run hot but with a good airflow over the unit it stays cool in flight. Make sure low power mode is enabled until arming the motors. The camera itself does not get hot at all.

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I think it only works with the FPV controller V2 (the one that came with the dji fpv drone and the avata) I'd get a TBS tango 2 if I didn't have a suitable controller.

      Yes, mainly because this was fitted to a drone which already had a Caddx vista so the install didn't require soldering on the flight controller. All that was needed was to splice the wires.
