Showcasing the cool weapons from Soldier of Fortune. In 4K resolution for best quality. An amazing game by Raven Software. The game that was brutal before Brutal Doom! Soldier of Fortune was way ahead of it's time on many aspects. Amazing what Quake 2 engine could do for it's time. I included the weapons idle/inspect animations because they are so cool. My favorite gun in Soldier of Fortune is the MAC-10. Followed by SPAS-12! Check out these weapons!

I still think that the weapons in SoF were one of the most satisfying weapons to shoot in games. You just felt their power and I think its largely due to the fact that they dont sound 'accurate' to the real guns, but more over the top and booming. All the idle animations also add to the charm, like that little detail when youre holding the Heavy MG, if you jump and land you hear that ammo belt 'ting' sound effect as it bobs on impact.

I wish they remake or remaster it someday and bring it on Steam. It was my favorite game after F.E.A.R. series but its only buyable on GOG unfortunetly.

Fun fact: The gunshot sound of the Silver Talon (the Desert Eagle) is the same explosion sound used in old movies like Platoon.

That shotgun has the Id Seal of Quality:

- Punchy.
- Badass.
- Makes the player feel like a badass.

I wasn't aware that the shotgun was called the B-42 Berserker. I now have name to put to appearance of quite possibly the best video game shotgun, second only to the VK-12 from FEAR.

Also, the Raptor SMG is based off of the FAMAE Mini-SAF, one in a line of Chilean submachine gun derivations of the SIG 540 series.

The Desert Eagle (ok, ok: Silver Talon) of SoF is my favourite one of any game. It feels, sounds and packs the punch of a handheld cannon. An amazing gun, really.

I still have a copy of the Platinum Edition of this game. I couldn't get it to install in Windows 10 and no longer have a computer with a DVD drive. I found this on GOG at one time, but not sure its still up.
