I mean as a 40 yr old fuq boy myself I was very intrigued by this profound and thought out question that Don has brought to the table! And I believe it deserves the proper case studies preformed enough so we can collect the data and analyze it! This is a to be continued topic....
The beat-boxer in Home Free is Adam Rupp. You'll love his "drum" solo--you might really want to check that out. He's crazy good. Listen to their "Sea Shanty Medley" to hear Adam "playing" the castanets (with his vocal cords). Home Free tends to do country, but they can do almost anything. Check out their cover of "End of the Road", "How Great Thou Art" (an old Christian hymn--this is especially wonderful--the vocals are truly, out of this world and they shot in the Austrian Alps, so the scenery is just gorgeous), and for just sheer fun, check out "Never Gonna Give You Up". They had a great deal of fun with that and it's a pleasure to watch them clown around (they recorded this during lock down, so they're not together). I love their cover of "When a Man Loves a Woman" and their newest is not a cover--it's an original written by Adam Chance (the guy that was making the didgeridoo sound) and Adam does the lead vocals. It's a little different, in that it isn't a capella (as limited musical accompaniment) and it's for a video game that's coming out soon. It's called "Skull and Bones". It's really fabulous!
Adam is the main beat-boxer and is incredible. But I know at least 4 of them can and do do some beat-boxing. And thank goodness for tech so Chance didn't have to do the throat singing too long.
What you’re hearing is not a didgeridoo, it is a vocal jaw harp, done by Adam Chance. Tim Foust the bass singer has a five octave range. He has been known to blow subwoofers in concert. Adam Rupp is a world champion beatboxer. The lead vocals and tenor Austin Brown. Rob Lundquist is also a tenor
Thanks for reacting to Home Free they are the best a cappella band out there imo. Home Fries (Home Free fans) call Adam Rupp harmonica the NOMONICA. Adam is an award winning beatboxer and can produce almost any sound. You should listen to his Drum solo video ( the one from 2015 with him in a red shirt) . They sing all genres rock, soul, R & B, inspirational, gosple, Christmas, opera & funny/comedic. 2 suggestions 1.) Their 50th Anniversary tribute cover of the Doobie Brothers - LISTEN TO THE MUSIC 2) cover of Boyz2Men hit END OF THE ROAD. You gentlemen have a blessed day.
Ya'll ain't seen nuthin yet! This group does EVERYTHING from bluegrass to Italian Opera. They were signed by a video game company to write and perform a song for the new game called Skull and Bones. The only thing we home fries love better than Home Free is watching new reactors to their videos, oh and definitely use head phones or go to a live concert for full enjoyment and be amazed.
So excited that you checked out Homefree. Go down the rabbit hole!!They are my family’s favorite group. My parents, kids and myself all enjoy them. They are from various areas Minnesota, Texas, Tennessee and Alabama originally. They are so talented and offer so many great songs. Butts remix or end of the road are good one to check out.
Without a doubt this is the best Acapella group. These boys can sing any genre. Adam Rupp has won beatboxing/percussion competitions. Tim Foust the bass has a 5 octave range. Rob Lundquist is tenor and Austin Brown is high tenor, Adam Chance is baritone/bass.💗💗
For a bit of fun you should watch Home Free .. the Butts Medley (Remix). It's just so much fun. Also, they do an amazing "country" song called Hillbilly Bone. They have many serious songs but I love their fun ones. And these are just uplifting. I came here to watch Ren reactions but I stayed because I really like your take on willingness to hear all types of music.
He’ll yeah, the Butts Remix was my first intro to them years ago! So damn fun, and I didn’t even know they were vocals only at the time. When I found out I was even more impressed, like Harry Mack level impressed!
The lead vocalist in this song is their high tenor Austin from Georgia. The other lead with the full beard is their tenor Rob Lundquist from Minnesota. The man with the deep voice is their bass Tim Foust and he is from southern Texas. The man in the suspenders is as you now know the beatboxer Adam Rupp and is from Minnesota as well. The man in the far left in the back is their baritone/bass Adam Chance (called Chance to avoid confusion and is from the backwoods of Alabama. Adam Rupp and his brother Chris Rupp started this band in the year 2000. Chris just recently left the band to start a solo career. They have just added another Ada (Adam Bastiene "pronounced Bassteen) to the band because Austin Brown left to start a family with his new wife as well trying to start a wildlife reserve and rescue and several other ventures. you should check out Tim, Austin's and Chance's solo channels. Austin has just recently had several really big hits on You Tube you should check out. Starting with Her's Ain't Mine. I love watching your reactions and love Home Free
I am really having a hard time with Austin leaving. Listening to the guys with the new guy, makes me realize how much Austin voice was in all the mix. I will still love Home Free, and it's great that Austin and his new wife, want to start their journey together going down a different path. Home Free have many many great songs. Jump into that rabbit hole.
Welcome to the rabbit hole. These guys are amazing and just as good live. Pick anything they do and it's fire 🔥. I would suggest their cover of "End of the Road".
Tim Foust, the bass with the REALLLLLLY deep voice hit a low F# in their collab song with the Oak Ridge Boys : Elvira. Also a must listen to, especially with quality speakers or your headphones. The frequency vibration when he hits that note is unreal!
The beatboxer in Home Free is also one of the founders of the group. Take a listen to this Home Free: Drum Solo [SPM ST15]. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, they all do beatboxing to some level which you'll see in this one Home Free - 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown, October 27, 2015. These guys could sing the warning label on a bottle of cyanide and make it sound appealing. Have fun in this rabbit hole. Lol! Enjoy your reactions. Have a great day!
You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there with a 5 octave range & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
HomeFree just came out with a new release Skull and Bones that was written by Adam Chance ( the man doing the throat singing) for a new video game coming out this fall called Skull and Bones. It blows categorizing them right out of the water. It's great.
That was Adam Rupp - beatboxer percussionist extraordinaire playing his infamous "nomonica". 🤣 Great reaction - thanks guys! Btw, fans of Home Free are called home fries ------> 🍟
Austin (lead on this)is originally from Georgia, now in Tennessee. That twang is natural, but he has Musical Theater training. Tim (bass) is from Texas, now in Tennessee. Rob (second lead, tenor) is from Minnesota, as is Adam (beat boxer). Chance is from Alabama and is a baritone and is dong the Jaw Harp sound. They do several genres . They sound just as good live. Wait to react to “Mayday” until you get a feel for their individual parts. Enjoy!!
I used to be that way buy I now tell folks to watch Brothers in Arms then Mayday back to back and understand that the first singer in both is the same guy. If the go down the hole and then catch My Maria or Tim's solo stuff then Mayday loses its impact
Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole. The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they can honestly sing any genre and they do They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys. Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire -Tenor can make any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota. Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) very soulful voice from Minneapolis,Minnesota Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas Austin.Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair ) voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder)in 2016 There is no lead singer they each sing the song ( except Adam the beatboxer) to see who’s voice or voices suits it the best. Adam can sing but he prefers beatboxing to hear him sing listen to How Great Thou Art or th-cam.com/video/Sm1xhYZiSrM/w-d-xo.html They have collaborated with many great singers and legends Don McLean:American Pie Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee Billy Gilman:One Voice Alabama:Christmas In Dixie Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end ) Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA Brooke Eden:Delta Dawn Any many more. They have a very large playlist of covers and Original songs End of the Road: Boyz 2 Men cover When A Loves A Woman Road Sweet Road (original) Dive Bar Saints (Original) Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony) Unchained Melody Listen To The Music When Will I Be Loved Butts Melody/ Remix ( hilarious) Can’t Outrun You Workin For A Livin Hillbilly bone Bone One Man Band Brothers In Arms Stargazer Trilogy( All Originals written by Austin) Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1) Stargazer Lilies( Chapter 2) MR (Chapter 3) Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft new video game Skull And Bones) Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES ) There's not a song that you pick from their 155 + catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet. They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is Sorry for the long read
Music is the bridge that connects all of us together for music is the one thing that no one can take away from you because if u have a voice u can create music
I drove 2 hours north to the Boston area with my wife to see these guys because I just had to and it was the closest they were going to come to me. In the middle of the concert their beatboxer does a 15-minute solo that is just unbelievable I'm pretty sure you can find it on TH-cam. I was hooked on this band when I saw them do the cover my church It was fantastic I was just blown away and their latest album die hard saints is most of their own music and it's fantastic
Best a capella group out there. What you thought was a didgeridoo is actually a mouth harp. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is workd class. He does every kind of drum, cymbals, birds, waves, jet planes, castanets, basically anything you can name. And, yes, he does throat singing. They have an incredibly deep and varied catalog. Try their amazing cover of the Doobies' Listen to the Music.
Home Free is so incredibly talented! They have a HUGE catalog that not only crosses genres, but is chock full of originals as well as covers. They just dropped the video for the song they did for Ubisofts new game Skull and Bones. You should definitely give it a listen
This group of guys are spectacularly talented and skilled. They are generally country, but can do any genre and kill it. All of their voices are beautiful instruments and Adam Rupp, the beat boxer/vocal percussionist is world class. He does a solo set at every one of their shows and completely brings down the house. All of the guys can do a little basic beat box and do a respectable job, but Adam is a beast. If you continue down the Home Free rabbit hole, you will discover that they are like an awesome gift box. The deeper you go into it, the more unexpected and fabulous surprises.
Always nice to see Adam Chance's superb polyphonic jaw harp shown some love. :) Check out Home Free doing their a capella version of "End of the Road" sometime - nothing hits *quite* like #GospelRob! Also, y'all will appreciate a live capture of them doing Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" with a thumping beatbox breakdown in the middle: th-cam.com/video/vHYgW0f3sKE/w-d-xo.html ;)
OMG... okay, you had me in full giggles. Great reaction. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free. Okay, for you two... Butt Remix. Promise you will never be the same.
Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others. Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist. Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible. Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes. Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul. Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound. There is not a permanent lead singer in Home Free, but they look (listen) at every song whose voice suits it best. The best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). .. This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing. Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group
The mouth harp is by Adam Chance...back left. Also. the bass, Tim Foust hits low notes only heard through head phones. He has a 5 octave range. Welcome to the best rabbit hole ever!
Home Free , the best of the very best!! They have 100's of videos out there!! They sing all genres! Tim, Austin, Chance, Rob and beatboxer extraordinaire, Adam+!
New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas that excel in all music genres. They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother and their latest: Stargazer Lilies trilogy, Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and Mr. ...the list goes on. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Adam Chance just wrote the theme song to Ubisoft's new Pirate themed video game, Skull and Bones and Home Free performs it. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!
In addition to all the songs recommended here already, their cover of Folsom Prison Blues shows how they fuse sounds and genres (country gospel hiphop) and is an example of their creativity during lockdown. Their video production is always superb. Also, their cover of Can't Stop the Feeling has a great instrumental breakdown that shows what each of the guys is contributing to the overall sound. Home Free excels in making music that features the vocal talent of each individual -- amazing solos -- along with perfectly fused harmonies. And every video is a surprise. You never know where they're going to take you.
Congrats on the 100+K 🎉 cool 😎 seeing y'all talk off each other - it is mongolian throat singing Chance is doing and he's the guy in the back row on the left, but the beatboxer Adam Rupp does the digereedo in his drum solo "live" video he's wearing a red shirt. You might wanna check that one out too. It's wild! Great reaction guys! New sub for more Home Free, please
I saw them in concert back in February. AMAZING! Just as good live as in a recorded performance. All of them except Adam (the beat boxer) literally left the stage for about 10 minutes for Adam to just do his beat boxing. Absolutely LIT.
Thank you for reacting to Home Free! Home Free is a country acapella band but they sing all genres from bluegrass to opera. There is no lead singer, they choose the leads by who’s voice best fits the song. Every song feels like a new experience so please react to more Home Free! They do covers as well as original songs, there are three of these guys that have written quite a few of there more recent songs. They released a trilogy (Stargazer Trilogy) written by high tenor Austin Brown and right after that a song written by Adam Chance for a new game to be released soon. Austin then released a song that’s gone viral called “ Hers Ain’t Mine”, it’s on his channel and it’s said to be the married man’s anthem.
This song is such an awesome song. Was written in the 1920s I believe. Not sure who originally performed it, but Ralph Stanley/Stanley brothers have an awesome bluegrass version
The original song, was in the movie OH BROTHER WHERE ART THOU Staring George Clooney. He was supposed to sing MAN of Constant Sorrow. It was sung by Dan Tyminski From Alison Krauss and Union Station. Alison sang several songs in the movie as well. Now she is singing with Robert Plant "TROUBLE WITH MY LOVER" YOU need to listen to that . She is from Bluegrass and Country HE is LED ZEPPELIN. IT MIXES WELL
Oh, these guys do a lot of live shows. Fans record some and there is a recording where Austin (the main singer in this one) asks Tim (the main bassist) to do his low tone while Austin sits near one of the speakers just to see why the women tend to like being near the speakers . Many fans have commented that Adam Rupp (the beatboxer) must be a ladies man since he is so nimble with his tongue. There are a bunch of concert recordings (sound is a little lacking as most are cell phone... I actually have three songs on my small YT channel from an outdoor concert of theirs) and there are a bunch of "drum" solo recordings as Adam does a "drum" solo at every show. Now, this is layered in the mix but live, Adam uses a looper. Chance (the didgeridoo sounding part) has said it's hard to do continuously so, Adam samples a few seconds live and then loops it. He then samples his "drum" beat so that can loop while he "plays" the no-monica. Austin can also do the no-monica and Rob (the teddy bear bearded guy) can sing Opera and is a world class whistler as well. In one performance of 9-5 Rupp steps back and the other four have a "beatbox off". Adam also has a short video on HOW he does the no-monica sound.
Chance is actually using the throat singing technique to make the mouth harp sound (not didgeridoo). But Adam, the beatboxer does do a didgeridoo in his solos from their live performances. I suggest reacting to their cover of "End of the Road" by B2M.
Every sound you hear is done with their mouths, crazy talented, takes years of practising. Imagine a colab with Ren, where he raps and they sing and do the beats, would be mind blowing. Love these guys, huge respect 👏👏👏
Warning the Home Free rabbit hole is approximately 300 songs deep at this time. Mostly covers but some exceptional originals too. The guys do a wide variety of genres.
they have been together over 12 years and over 240 videos. "End of the Road", "when a man loves a woman", there are even video of Adam Rupp(beatboxer) doing a 10 min beatbox demo. they are so very very good!!
Love the genre mixing. Was at Download festival (heavy metal) and the same day as Slipknot we had the Hu (Mongolian throat metal) and Bloodywood (Punjabi bangra metal). Both were amazing and had tens of thousands headbanging to them in a field. You need to give them both a listen.
These guys are absolutely incredible, and they perform various genres. I would recommend their covers of "End of the Road," "When A Man Loves A Woman," and "How Great Thou Are," to get you started. Looking forward to more Home Free reactions from you guys.
Great reaction! Home Free is amazing!! They do any genre, but they consider themselves a country group. They are so talented that anyone can take the lead. You might get a video like this one or a funny one. They are full of surprises. Regards from Argentina.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!! These guys have no limits on the genres they can cover impeccably! Check out their cover of Boyz 2 Men- End of The Road!!! Loving y'alls reactions!! Keep em coming!
I just seen them a few weeks ago in Albany Or in concert. They were amazing!!! Watching them in real time was beyond anything I have seen in a long time. They showed us how they lay some of the tracks as they perform. As someone born and raised in the south they were not the typical hillbilly stereotype. Amazing is all I can say!!
Omg... haha. I'm thinking of beatboxing in a whole new way. Check out Home Free's cover of Ring of Fire. It features Avi Kaplan from Pentatonix and it's fantastic. Adam, the beat boxer, sounds like an entire drum kit in that one.
The film you're referencing is "O Brother Where Art Thou", a Coen Brothers film starring Kentucky-born George Clooney, John Goodman, Holly Hunter, Stephen Root, John Turturro, and others. It's a compressed retelling of Homer's "The Odyssey", with Clooney playing Odysseus. Yes; the song "Man of Constant Sorrow" does feature prominently in the film, although it only plays twice during the course of the movie. The song is a traditional country/bluegrass/folk song that predates recording technology. The 'digeridoo'-like instrument sound is actually a mimicking of a traditional American droning instrument called a 'jaw harp'. It's commonly used in old timey country/bluegrass/folk music. It's not used to play tunes, but it is able to change pitch as backup to other instruments and singing. I believe use goes back at least to the 15th century. Consider that jaw harps are as traditional as banjos and often were played together. th-cam.com/video/fWA_vZobaAw/w-d-xo.html Singing a rendition of a traditional song is not the same as performing a 'cover'; this song is not a 'cover', even though Alison Krause and her band won a Grammy for the soundtrack for "O Brother Where Art Thou" and the best-known rendition of this traditional song. The song has a foundation in history and no one knows who actually wrote it. It was performed before recording existed. It's not a 'cover'.
You are just now learning about Home Free?? Trust me, they are MUCH more than just a country a cappella group. If you like this, you will probably LOVE a journey down their rabbit hole. Yes! Absolutely do more Home Free reactions!
So happy to find out you've done reactions to Home Free!! So excited to see you react to more of their music, both covers and originals. I'm also enjoying many of your country music reactions within the last few months (Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, ect...)
This is another rabbit hole you could go down. They're totally different from Ren, but they're brilliant. They've been around for several years, and in their own world of acapella vocal bands, they're range is as large and varied as Ren's. Check out some more of their stuff - you'll like it!
Well joined yall for UPCHURCH and HOME FREE is my other favorite was glad to see yall doing enjoyed try there version of CANT STOP THIS FEELING or FOLSOM PRISON BLUES or LISTEN TO THE MUSIC all fire
Home Free is the real deal. They are incredibly gifted men. The beatboxer was doing drums, harmonica and other sounds with his mouth. See Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). It’s all him and a mic doing drums. The bass has a 5 octave range so he can do super low and then sing up with the tenors. Chance (on the left in back) was doing the mouth harp that sounds like a didgeridoo. They are all tremendously talented. And they’ve written songs too. Chance, just wrote a song for the pirate game Skull & Bones. It’s a great song. Check it out. (Btw, this song is over 100 years old and covered by many artists. It was made famous by the movie O Brother Where Art Thou. One of my favorite movies. Another Coen Bros. Movie I like is Fargo). 😍 And please wear headphones. It makes a difference.
Greeting from the UK. Loving your reactions guys!! If you are getting into these acapella groups I would recommend VoicePlay - particularly "Hoist the Sail" or "The Dragonborn Comes" (Sykrim song).
12:18 Don goin off on creating tech w/ music then mimicking electronic music and also combining the two (Beardyman OG voice only looper). I love that whole super tangent, fun place to go. 🌴👐
Original Home Free Drum Solo... this was recorded on an iPhone... I have seen them live, this is good but live is completely amazing... Check it here... Home Free: Drum Solo [SPM ST15] They also do a BOYZIIMEN End of the Road cover that is amazing.... With 1.5 Million+ subscribers, their fans are called Home Fries... The more you react to HF the more they will flock to your page!!!
They do country but also do other genres also, they are very versatile. Their latest song is for an upcoming Ubisoft pirate game they just announced called Skull and Bones and it's not country in the least. It's so good! They have great harmonies and that beatboxer is amazing!
Welcome to the most talented artists in music today. Adam the beat boxer is a world champion. Now for some massive fun, watch BUTTS REMIX. Also Tim the bass beat boxes too. The dark haired guy is also Adam and he is the baratone. Either way they are freaking amazing. Don’t stop. I sub all good reactors to home free and there are a lot but they aren’t all great. Keep it up. Cuz y’all were great!
Humphries one of the best a cappella groups around! Each member has lots of talents… All five can beatbox but Adam Rupp is the main beat boxer… The woman did the harmonica! He is world champion beat boxer watches solo. Listen to the guy pat started singing quotation marks Austin and the guy in with the beard Rob sing Nessun dorma from an opera! You’ll be amazed multitalented! Keep on reacting to home free…e they’re gonna blow your mind they always like to surprise her fans!! Adam chance started this song ping the Jews harp sound… you held it between your teeth and strummed a metal band that made the twang sound. Listen to End of the Road; Country Fried Pop medley; How great thou Art; Helplessly hoping; & Champagne taste on a beer budget!! Very thoughtful reaction to a great group!!
I've been a big fan of Home Free for pushing 10 years now (boy do I feel old typing this.) I'm sure it's been suggested, but I'll throw my votes in for Home Free songs for you to react to: 1) Boyz || Men - End of The Road (Home Free Cover) 2) Home Free - Ring of Fire (Featuring Avi Kaplan) 3) Home Free - American Pie ft. Don McLean
I haven't thought about a Juice Harp in a while. When I was a kid like 7-8 there was an old man who went to our Church and he always carried one and loved to play it. He was 97 and just had a spark about him. He loved life and loved his God. I think I got one of his Juice Harps after he passed. I should look for it. Great memories! I'm glad I read through some of the comments!
AAAAAAAAH!!!!! HAHAHA! DON flipped this whole video at the end. Home free is awesome! I remember watching them on the show "The Sing-off," that they and PTX both won. A reaction to their version of the Ring of Fire would be cool. The bass singer is from another planet!
i see these guys whenever they're within 250 miles of me, they are even more amazing live and their shows never get old no matter how many times i see them. they just dropped a new original that is the theme song for Ubisoft Skull and Bones game coming out in august. it's awesome
ring of fire is a great cover. you should check that out an the boys to men cover end of the road. these guys will blow your mind. they are so talented. welcome to the home free rabbit hole
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. You have just been introduced to the best acapella group around! These guys are so very talented. Every sound you hear they make is from their mouths. These guys do different genres. You should check out their cover of End of The Road by Boyz II Men. It will blow your mind. Please keep checking out Home Free they will never disappoint! Love your reactions!
After Dawn's question at the end now I'm subscribing😂
subscribed already but, yes, that would have sold many of us! LOL
I mean as a 40 yr old fuq boy myself I was very intrigued by this profound and thought out question that Don has brought to the table! And I believe it deserves the proper case studies preformed enough so we can collect the data and analyze it! This is a to be continued topic....
Sold me 🤣🤣
I volunteer as tribute !!!!!😂
Haha!! FYI... There are vibrators that connect to music these days 😂😉
It is not the didgeridoo that Chance is doing at the beginning of this song it is a Jaw harp
@@tinahuff7466 it’s Mongolian throat singing. He says it hurts if he does it for too long.
Adam is the main beat-boxer and is incredible. But I know at least 4 of them can and do do some beat-boxing. And thank goodness for tech so Chance didn't have to do the throat singing too long.
@@donnaflynn9615 thank you for letting me know I just learned something new
Amen!
Gary,
Thank you!
I knew it was not a didgeridoo, but couldn't think of the name of that instrument!!!
@@pamh.5705 You’re Welcome
Ahhh.... never heard of a vocal jaw harp. I always thought that sound was a heavily processed sample from a throat singer lol
Adam chance is the dude in the hat with the dark beard. l
Yes a juice harp.
Oh, Eric you beat me to nomonica. I salute you.
I would also suggest the Butts Medley. They skip between genres flawlessly.
I was just going to mention the drum solo! That drum solo was top notch!!
Here's one if the drum solos!!
th-cam.com/video/EanKWLUaDpg/w-d-xo.html
Definately need to do the drum solo!
Amen!!❤
We home fries confused the hell outta me XD
You really need to CK out Listen to the Music
Rob Lundquist h
as also trained in singing opera. I LOVE Home Free
End of the road is exactly the song I came here to recommend! This needs to be higher up for sure.
Tim Foust, the bass with the REALLLLLLY deep voice hit a low F# in their collab song with the Oak Ridge Boys : Elvira. Also a must listen to, especially with quality speakers or your headphones. The frequency vibration when he hits that note is unreal!
They need to do Ring of Fire with Tim. And STAY to see his versatility.
The Home Free rabbit hole is deep and full of gems. Can't wait to go down it with you 🎉
HomeFree just came out with a new release Skull and Bones that was written by Adam Chance ( the man doing the throat singing) for a new video game coming out this fall called Skull and Bones. It blows categorizing them right out of the water. It's great.
I am looking forward to playing that game and listening to Home Free.
Great reaction, boys! Ring of Fire, When a Man Loves a Woman, American Pie, Butts Remix. They've got an amazing catalog!
@@DRHHUB Never thought of that before, but that's a great suggestion!
Home fry from the UK here. Great to see you react to a wonderful group. Thank you.
Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole.
The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they can honestly sing any genre and they do
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular.
Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) very soulful voice from Minneapolis,Minnesota
Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas
Austin.Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair ) voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia.
Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder)in 2016
There is no lead singer they each sing the song ( except Adam the beatboxer) to see who’s voice or voices suits it the best. Adam can sing but he prefers beatboxing to hear him sing listen to How Great Thou Art or th-cam.com/video/Sm1xhYZiSrM/w-d-xo.html

There's not a song that you pick from their 155 + catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet.
They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is
Sorry for the long read
Lynn Ramsay ! You have done a very good, great job giving so much clear information about Home Free and their music ! Thank you!
@@lindanoel1853 thank you
Love their voices, so talented
It’s a juice harp sound, no didgeridoo. I hit the button bc I can’t wait to watch y’all react to more Home Free! 🎉
Jew’s harp- or better yet- jaw harp.
Yall are gunna freak when you see the boys to men cover "end of the road" they did!! ❤ 😂
Thank you so much for the Home Free reaction it is so appreciated! I hit subscribe for more HF!🤗❤️
Always nice to see Adam Chance's superb polyphonic jaw harp shown some love. :)
Check out Home Free doing their a capella version of "End of the Road" sometime - nothing hits *quite* like #GospelRob!
Also, y'all will appreciate a live capture of them doing Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" with a thumping beatbox breakdown in the middle: th-cam.com/video/vHYgW0f3sKE/w-d-xo.html ;)
I had not seen that before - that was awesome!
Very few reactors figure out on the first viewing who is doing the jaw harp.
Just subbed for more Home Free! Their cover of Boys 2 Men's End of the Road is another amazing one to check out. 😊
Y'all gotta do more reactions to home free, their most recent song is called Skull and bones, and it's incredible
OMG... okay, you had me in full giggles. Great reaction. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free. Okay, for you two... Butt Remix. Promise you will never be the same.
There is a video of the beat boxer doing a drum solo at one of their live shows and it blew my mind. Y'all should check it out
Home free is an a cappella group from Minnesota that won the Sing off. They are amazing and give us great pride.
This was great, I love watching your minds being blown.
I love this song and I love home free I am home fry for life ❤
New subscriber.
Great reaction. You guys had me cracking up.😂
Congrats on the 100+K 🎉 cool 😎 seeing y'all talk off each other - it is mongolian throat singing Chance is doing and he's the guy in the back row on the left, but the beatboxer Adam Rupp does the digereedo in his drum solo "live" video he's wearing a red shirt.
Remember a couple years ago when the Sea Shanty Medley was going crazy especially on tik tok? That was Home Free's song!
Yes this song is over a hundred years old and been covered by many of the greats of country and bluegrass.
Soggy Bottom Boys
The original song, was in the movie OH BROTHER WHERE ART THOU
Staring George Clooney. He was supposed to sing MAN of Constant Sorrow.
It was sung by Dan Tyminski
From Alison Krauss and Union Station.
Alison sang several songs in the movie as well.
Now she is singing with Robert Plant
"TROUBLE WITH MY LOVER" YOU need to listen to that .
That would be great 🔥
This song is 100 years old, brought back by movie!
Warning the Home Free rabbit hole is approximately 300 songs deep at this time. Mostly covers but some exceptional originals too. The guys do a wide variety of genres.
Rabbit hole... you will absolutely love these guys. Great reaction.
they have been together over 12 years and over 240 videos. "End of the Road", "when a man loves a woman", there are even video of Adam Rupp(beatboxer) doing a 10 min beatbox demo. they are so very very good!!
They were founded in 2001. That means it’s actually 23 years!
Home free is teh awesomeness! That harmonica sound.. Adam explained in an interview that he basically starts off with a "Cartman" voice..
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!! These guys have no limits on the genres they can cover impeccably! Check out their cover of Boyz 2 Men- End of The Road!!! Loving y'alls reactions!! Keep em coming!
Beatboxer Adam Rupp (original member) has perfected for over 20 years. Home Free is beyond any tag name.
Home Free is an amazing group. You should check out their versions of End of the Road for another great song.
Check out some of their original stuff. The most recent is "Skull and Bones" written by Adam Chance for a video game being released in Aug.
Omg...
Consider that jaw harps are as traditional as banjos and often were played together. th-cam.com/video/fWA_vZobaAw/w-d-xo.html
Singing a rendition of a traditional song is not the same as performing a 'cover'; this song is not a 'cover', even though Alison Krause and her band won a Grammy for the soundtrack for "O Brother Where Art Thou" and the best-known rendition of this traditional song.
I just discovered your videos! Definitely check out more from Home Free!! They are simply an amazing acapella group!!
So happy you have started the Home Free journey. 👏🏼
Damn, tbh I was not prepared for how much I enjoyed that tune. They are dope 😲
Greeting from the UK. Loving your reactions guys!! If you are getting into these acapella groups I would recommend VoicePlay - particularly "Hoist the Sail" or "The Dragonborn Comes" (Sykrim song).
"Valhalla Calling" would be my rec for them from Voice Play - think they would particularly appreciate J's solo ;).
12:18 Don goin off on creating tech w/ music then mimicking electronic music and also combining the two (Beardyman OG voice only looper). I love that whole super tangent, fun place to go. 🌴👐
Homefree are all from the usa. And homefries are world wide fans of homefree.
I really think you will enjoy watching Adam Rupp (beat boxer) drum solo! He is fantastic!
Love listening to you guys. Your gen is my gen. Living in this time together brothers!
Home Free is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love the film brother where art thou. This number is the main song from the film but it is an incredible soundtrack. This is a great cover.
They do country but also do other genres also, they are very versatile. Their latest song is for an upcoming Ubisoft pirate game they just announced called Skull and Bones and it's not country in the least. It's so good! They have great harmonies and that beatboxer is amazing!
🤣 I loved the question and his answer! Too funny!
Keep it up. Cuz y’all were great!
nooooo, he is not and never was a world champion because he has never entered any competitions for that.....please stop continuing this myth.
HF fans Home 🍟 fries are massive and very loyal. We 💕 love our boys and they have a big catalogue.
These guys are great, enjoy them. I like their version of "country roads" and dire straits "brothers in arms"
You need to hear Homefree The Butt Song 😂
I grew up with ole brother where art thou and still one of my favorite movie i would highly recommend it.
I've been a big fan of Home Free for pushing 10 years now (boy do I feel old typing this.) I'm sure it's been suggested, but I'll throw my votes in for Home Free songs for you to react to:
1) Boyz || Men - End of The Road (Home Free Cover)
2) Home Free - Ring of Fire (Featuring Avi Kaplan)
3) Home Free - American Pie ft. Don McLean
Gotta throw in the Butts Medley in there too!
@@j.l.5966 agreed, that would be a good one for a humorous Home Free. I kinda went to several different styles within their catalog.
Got to checkout Home Free’s cover of End of the Road and When a Man Loves a Woman.
The instrument at the beginning is kind of a mix between the digeridoo and what's called a juice harp or mouth harp.
Their version of Ring of fire featuring Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix) is a great show of what bass singers can do
i see these guys whenever they're within 250 miles of me, they are even more amazing live and their shows never get old no matter how many times i see them. they just dropped a new original that is the theme song for Ubisoft Skull and Bones game coming out in august. it's awesome
You absolutely need to keep doing acapella reacts, including Home Free, they are just good.
ring of fire is a great cover. you should check that out an the boys to men cover end of the road. these guys will blow your mind. they are so talented. welcome to the home free rabbit hole
