I use to participate in these events when I was in high school and they were so much fun. I went to a few near Cuba MO and Bonne Terre MO and it was always a blast.
Great video. Incase anyone didn't take french in school pomme de terre is french for potatoes or a direct translation is apple of the earth. So this is potatoes rendezvous
Man I miss this. My family re-enacted for years then the kids moved out and sleeping on the ground got harder. Sucks getting old but maybe one day we’ll go again.
This is actually my home town rendezvous! Just found this video by chance while searching for some rendezvous content. One of my best friends is actually heard singing in the background at 9:33.
I like this video! I like the desplays, this history time periods. The patriotic song, the songs of amazing Grace. I myself am a burned again Christian. David Back. I have been watching your videos for a year and a half. Good bless you.
@@mikebecker12 it's usually the first weekend of May, and it's held in the park below the dam at Pomme de Terre Lake, they have a Facebook page I believe.
Wow. The first three seconds told me this boy wasnt brung up right. Steel to flint. Not flint to steel. Go up with the steel against the flint. Fledglings.
While I strike down with steel to flint, and have for almost 40 years with 100% success, there are various styles used. Flint to steel, although foreign to many, is an efficient system. It automatically directs the sparks (molten bits of steel) onto the char. It works.
prayer and NAtional Anthem!!! Great.
Thank you for singing the national anthem and being respectful to our flag.
