Been playing with the plugin for a week now and it's fantastic. The polyrhythms you can get are amazing and have breathed life in to my compositions. Love it!
Bought the plugin and really like it Mario, the graphic design helps to clearly see what is happening. Thank you for the tutorial Alex, very helpful to have a quick overview of all options and parameters.
It'd be cool if it can rotate one direction then rotate back the other direction every so often. I think the UX could be around "cycles" so CW vs CCW vs CW CCW 1/4 cycles (so every 1/4 of a circle it'd rotate back and forth, and should make sense even at 2 cycles - so every 2 whole cycles rotate the opposite direction)
Excellent plugin - I will buy it soon. It should also be noted that Mario is a very responsive and communicative developer with his customers (eg, on Gearspace). Cheers.
Can you make a chord progression, with 5 different chords, and have them played exactly when you want them played -without other random notes played either?
I just picked this up yesterday after watching a S1gns of L1fe video about it. *Immediately* turned out 2 solid experiments that will become a song this weekend. Brilliant software, Mario! Really a great tool.
Just Purchased the VST and I'm sure it will do an Amazing job of helping me fill in the blanks within My productions across the board. Thanks for creating and making it available.
I really don't write comments very often, but in this case .... WOW! This sequencer opens up so many possibilities for so many different styles. And the graphic interface is simply beautiful, like a small work of art. I think you have really done a great service to the scene! Thank you very much! I will spread the good news.
This thing makes me so happy. Just bought it and i cant stop playing around with it. Havent been able to take my mind off things like that for a while. Thank you so much!
Great plugin, but it would be nice to have an option so that the offsets are somehow linked to the loop length so that these changes are in sync with the tempo.
Saw it in action during a music production study group and given its budget friendly price I had to pick it up. Since I don’t play an instrument very well this is a great new option for generating notes.
So it seems if the arrow is selected next to Note selection and scale set , it will play chords you play from your keyboard it will play these notes. I'm feeding scaler into it and it seems to change the sound of the pattern depending on how many notes are put in. creating additional movement and variation.
Excellent Plugin. Love it. If I had 1 wish for an update, it would be the ability to set fixed velocity values for single notes. May an ofset to the set value range in the random velocity part would be also nice for single notes.
Well, this is an incredible plugin and probably one of the best I have never seen, so first and foremost thank you for your amazing work. I want to explain one "issue" I have encountered with the plugin so hopefully it can be worked out. If I am working on a chord progression and I put this progression on the midi track containing the harmony bloom (which of course is linked to another midi track containing my selected sound), then the harmony bloom won´t create the pattern based on the notes played on the midi, but instead will use the selected chord type and scale. If I use the "use input notes" option, then it doesn´t arpeggiate through the octaves and through the scale as it does in a normal configuration, it just plays those specific notes in the midi track. For example, in a project I was working in Bb major, for each chord I had to stop recording, set up the plugin with a different chord option and sometimes scale, and record again with that new configuration. With chords and scales more complicated, it gets even trickier. It would be incredible if you could do something like that in just one take by having the plugin to "read" the chord and scale in the midi input.
This is an amazingly creative MIDI sequencing tool and it's really easy to understand and a lot of fun to use. FYI: My DAW is Pro Tools and apart from it not being able to host VST plugins, Pro Tools has a rubbish MIDI routing setup. However, I use DDMF's Metaplugin (synth 64) which is available as an AAX (wrapper) plugin for about $50, that can host the Harmony Bloom VST3 and multiple VI's, with multiple MIDI channels and multiple Audio-Outs. Many thanks Mario !!
Seems very powerful, works either from input notes or generating notes itself. I could also see creating presets for strumming input chords. Can the plugin be used for non 12-edo scales? I suppose I need to set Harmony Bloom to play only input notes? Will note minimum and note maximum interfere? Also, nice features would be: - A dice roll for velocity only, maybe note-dots becoming more transparent when velocity is low. - An option to change notes names to simply input numbers (15:36), referring to input notes order. i.e. if I input a trichord, then Harmony Bloom would show only '1', '2', '3'.
I really like this plugin! But I'm still confused about the difference between note collection and scale. For example, let's say I set the scale to C Minor and set the note collection to MAJ6ADD9. If C is the root note, you can't get a C maj 6 add 9 chord from a C Minor scale. I'm just not understanding how these two settings work together.
I like it, but I would like to have it restart at the same place when I play and stop from the daw, the plugin will just stop and continue playing from where it stopped wich make it hard to be on sync with the beat
Amazing plugin! Thank you! Can you please help me in recording Harmony Bloom in Logic Pro x ? It is recording - what looks like the midi pattern - but then no sound comes out when afterwards I play/run the logic Pro playhead.
Alex! Love your content, so it's great to see you guest featuring on a plugin tutorial. Anyway, as a fellow Bitwig user, I was wondering if the parameters can be automated/modulated? If not, is it something that Mario can bake in in a future update?
There's no visual indicator when something is part of random? maybe a lock or something would be helpful or a slightly different shade (bold?) on something in the ui.
i Don't know what to THINK or whether to Laugh or Cry 🙄😂 Making music . . . out of GEOMETRY 😂🤣 The geometry is so terrifying to look at or even understand 🤕🤕, yet the sound (rhythm) is intriguingly unexpected 😅😅. This is just . . . . something OUT of this world. Hard to explain.
Hi Mario, does this work with Reason, because I cant seem to get it work... Upon further testing It looks like this doesn't work with Reason which Is a shame as its the only Daw I use. All Reason parameters become unresponsive. Will need a refund unfortunately :(
How would i set up a chord progression with various chords, ranging from triads to 9th chords, and played only on the 1, 2, and 3rd beats of a 6/4 time signature? I think I would need a physics degree to do that. After all, it's called 'HARMONY' Bloom, suggesting harmony - suggesting chords. Other than random, and generative music, this vst seems too complicated to get a fairly planned musical idea created. Looks cool though. Unless, but cool to look at for 3 minutes.
the problem with these plugins is they are zero friendly with traditional musicians.. no standard notation.. i simply dont understand how those geometric figures work since i think in notes
Very happy to have worked on this tutorial. This is truly an amazing plugin!
Gracias Alex, eres un capo!
Muy necesario y útil para exprimirlo al máximo, gracias por la review!!
Merci beaucoup!
@@marionietoworlddoes this plugin have swing?
Hey, Mr. Rabbit! I thought it was you! Happy Solstice and have a wonderful weekend! ;D
Amazing how every little feature was included in this, from generative to quality of life stuff. Congrats on this amazing work

Damn bro this is like everything I ever wanted connecting geometry and music and the beauty of spirals. Thank you!
Have you had spiritual / enlightening moments in coming up wit this?
It'd be cool if it can rotate one direction then rotate back the other direction every so often. It'd be interesting to apply this to modulation parameters - a way to scale between CC values or w/e. Thoughts?

Excellent plugin - I will buy it soon.
It should also be noted that Mario is a very responsive and communicative developer with his customers (eg, on Gearspace). Cheers.
This plugin is great. Not just advanced sequencer, but also user friendly. Good example of design. Great job :)

OK, now THIS was the detailed overview I needed. Thank you! What a wonderfully-designed plugin... it should win an award.
this is one of the best plugins we have seen for a while! Well done Mario!

This plugin is like a geometry exam. Honestly very complex for my non-visual brain, but seems to be very powerful

Holy cow this is like a dream sequencer to me. Mario is basically the Escher of the plugin world.
Had this for a couple of hours and it's brilliant...👍
A great plugin, I've had it for a few weeks. This is a great help to unlock more potential.
Great and innovative. In Bitwig I sometimes like to add a 1/16 or 1/32 note quantizer after it so it has a bit more musical rhythm.
Good idea
How would you do this in ableton? anyone know?
I guess can record it and then align it at the least
having a lot of fun with this program. Very engaging. (translation: about 5 hours yesterday)

This looks brilliant and very inspiring. Getting this soon.
I just bought this yesterday, absolutely brilliant < 3 Kept me up way past my bedtime : -D

How do I use midi signals in the piano roll in Logic to activate Harmony Bloom?

awesome plug in . I will not use the new midi fonctions in Live12 anymore
you can use those as an input too ;-)
Well explain thank you
What about 'Learn midi assignment'? How we tie the parameters to LFO?
Very nice plugin! Thanks 😊
Have you tried it with a drum machine, with percussive sounds like kick, snare, etc?
I wonder if you could sequence drums like this - can you make it trigger only one note?

Big question: can the settings be midi/macro mapped in Ableton/Daw? 🙏
Hi Alex. Will you also do aax format for Pro Tools? That would be awesome. Best regards. 😊
did you thought about to quantize the note to the nearest bpm as 4/6/8/12/16 notes? would this be possible while they are rotating?
hey! Does it works with hits drums etcetera ? can it make rythmic drums?
There's no visual indicator when something is part of random? maybe a lock or something would be helpful or a slightly different shade (bold?) on something in the ui.
IOS-Version would be highly recommended!

Windows 10 incase you need to know. Thanks.
Amazing plugin!
Is there a swing option or would that be the Speed Offset?
For now, there isn't a function or a way to add a controlled swing, although it would be an interesting feature, I'll make a note of it!
super plugin
This is awesome!!!
I just bought this I’m trying to use it in reason how do i get sound from it? It’s not making no sound
Super , merci 👍
how do i use it in Reason 12 ? cant find no tutorial!
MVP (P=product) of the year at least.
Must have on ipadOS!
nice! im frm the netherlands here we pay with ideal wich you guys dont have so i cant buy it.
Will this work in Reason 13?
can anyone tell me how to set this up with Mixcraft 10 ? Thank you
A good midi plugin, Thanks to the maths professor.
