Hello do you have a video that shows me how to ground my Samsung Galaxy S 22 with ethernet and also what I should do with my bed in the same room as my Wi-Fi router I've been shutting it off at night and I sleep better but I'm still having a lot of stiffness and pain in my body thank you

Top class tutorial, look at Neon which really gets down deep in the weeds very entertaining to watch. Put over very well simply describing to the user what is a very quite complicated sequencer. Thanks for all your time and effort Jakob. Love what you are making this thing do.
A really comprehensive and full walkthrough, as always, when you go deep into a App, thank you very much for it. Additionnally I would recommend to watch the Dev Aaron's own presentation of NEON on his TH-cam channel, to hear, what you can quite easely create with this genius sequencer…
Oh man, this sequencer is crazy!!! Messed with it one time last week and decided to wait for your video. Now, that I have watched it through I can at least get started, but will be rewatching this video several times!!! Holy crap!!! This is cool!!! Thanks for all of your hard work!!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Best App Haq Tutorial eveeeer I think this has to be one of the best tutorials I have ever seen on an App anywhere in the last 20 years simply Brilliant and if your into this fantastic Sequencer it’s going to save you hours upon hours upon hours of time people pay big bucks for courses that full well short of the Content here and thus this presentation deserves an award Haq at his very best 🙏 now just imagine if you could put audio into this app😮 Thank you
Wow 🤩 almost skipped this one as there’re so many sequencers… but yes, this one very special and creatively usable in an iPad workflow. Not only as a ‘main’ sequencer and therefore a DAW, but as an AUv3 sequencer in the mix. Still waiting for Loopy Pro to release the MIDI Looper feature, but this one seems to be very capable to fill the gap, too 👍🏻 So thanks for sharing, and again another very inspiring video 🙏🏻
Hey Jakob. Thanks for this. Instant buy for me. A "freeze" or "repeat x bars" button somewhere would be fantastic for live purposes. I realize that it would clutter up the interface. But maybe there could be a performance mode, where extra buttons like that appeared, for a more on the fly live take on things
Great video Jakob! Just got Neon, and I'm sure I'll be checking back here as I learn about it. I love it when devs make these new kinds of sequencers that really play to the strengths of iOS. (I should say iPadOS now…) I'm definitely going to be doing a lot of scrolling through the scales list too. 😂
Excellent video Jakob! You covered it all.. and in an easy-to-understand way.. I bought this shortly after it came out because of the potential I could see in it.. I didn’t have a clue as to what I was doing but it was so much fun trying this and/or that.. the unexpected nature of it is kind of addicting.. you’ve got a sequence set up + then you start messing with it.. a seemingly small change could have a huge impact on your sequence.. I’m smiling the whole time that I use Neon.. an absolute blast! Hats off to Aaron for creating this beautiful creature.. Thanks again for diving into the deep end of Neon.. much appreciated..
and the solution for big lists is pretty simple. you tap once. you show all scales on screen. 1 tap to select scale. screen autohides. for these things, it's not bad to not see the app UI. And as a neurodivergent myself. I love smooth control like Neon provides, but visually it also very intens. zooms and jumps. LEDs moving at 4 places in all directions. it can easily become exhausting. visual feedback is key, but the right amount is also key.
It is a really well done sequencer and is extremely well designed for a touch interface, but feels like it has some rough edges and one should adopt a "save often" policy when working with it. I've had it crash in AUM a few times, usually when the ipad has been locked for a while and I open it up to continue tinkering.
another cool thing would be an arpeggiator mode. esentially a switch that lets a user play a midi note in and have this sequencer take that one note and run it through…… it would be so cool. this sequencer is just plane fun
Thanks for this, Jakob. Might be worth pointing out the one catch with Neon, that caught me out, and has been confirmed by the dev. The AUv3 doesn’t save the complete state when you save a project, only the currently active stage. All the other stages get lost, unless you save a preset before quitting your project. As this is unlike most (all?) AUv3s it’s easy to lose a couple of hours work, especially if you’re running multiple instances of Neon. You’d have to save a preset for each instance, and then save your project in the host app. The dev is on the case, though. Otherwise the thing is superb.
Thanks for your video. That' looks like a very serious sequencer. With all this choice of auv3s on iOS, I wonder why there are no new audio-midi I/O docks anymore. Now we are going USB-C a new dock product with this port or just a USB-C connector and a USB-C to C cable would be quite future proof. They would only need to make a size-adaptive design similarly to Backbone's gamepads so as to stay compatible with any iPad size.
Yeah it’s a shame. However dock type products for iPads are like a niche within a niche and so the customer base is probably very small. And considering that it’s probably extremely difficult then to produce them at a level where the final price isn’t too high for potential customers. I think it’s easier with small portable USB sound interfaces, since they cater to users of a wide range of portable products (tablets, laptops, phones etc).
Thanks for the tutorial Jakob. The potential of Neon is immense. I’ve had a play for a couple of hours but barely scratched the surface. Looking forward to getting lost. It’s only £4.99 and 86p of that is VAT. Much more fun than a latte.
Neon MIDI, Ok, it’s just fine. But your selection of synths and what you can do with them is pure magic. This is another great demonstration / tutorial. Thank you for sharing. 🤩
Making it polyphonic would be a totally different app, there’s no real way of adapting an interface for monophonic sequencing like this to make it poly while retaining the elegance of design… of course you could always use multiple instances and generate chords that way, which might be very interesting in itself :)
@@hollywood4834 I don't think it would have to be so different. Chord could be a note mode. When chosen, the assigned note would trigger the default chord for that note in the chosen scale. You could drag to change types of chords and intervals. Corresponding modifiers that effect those values could be added. Or simply a chord mode that adds the adds the parmameters I mentioned so they don't always appear.. I would also be happy with all of this in its own app. It's already a great value for this price point.
The bits where I’ve got graphics inside AUM I’m using VS Vidual Synthesizer. The other animated bits backgrounds etc are composites made from all kinds of stuff. I make still graphics in Adfinity designer. I also render shaders in web-browsers and mix it with VS Visual synth stuff. The analyser stuff is also graphics made with another app called Wizibel.
Damn this is so cool. How would you go about hooking this up to a hardware synth over MIDI? Is it just a case of using the MIDI grid in AUM to point it to a connected piece of hardware?
It depends on how the external stuff is connected to your iDevice. If it’s a hardware synth/sampler/drum machine that support usb midi, then those connections will show up in that connection matrix in AUM. In that case you simply route the signal from Neon to the device. If you’re using multiple USB midi devices, they’ll all show up as connections with their own names etc. . But if you’re using older stuff, let’s say gear that connected over DIN5 legacy midi connectors. Then you’ll need a usb MIDI interface that supports that type of connection. When that is connected to the iDevice, it’ll pop up in the list. You route the signal from Neon to it. You’ll also have to make sure that the external gear and neon are set to the right MIDI channel.
An article led me here, to the App Store to let me know I needed an IPad. I could be upset but then again I could have read the article and avoided being mad at Apple and the dev for not releasing it to the IPhone. Still miffed as your coverage of this only made it much more appealing. Enjoy it for us mate :(
Hi Jacob, I was wondering if you might have run into a serious issue for Ipad music makers: Usb hub not working after update iOs. I use a Hyper usb hub for powering my Ipad while playing and it also has a jack out for headphones or amp. But after the latest iOs update the hub is suddenly worthless because it does nothing. This has happened before, around two years ago. Does this sound familiar? Do you maybe have a tip?
