I bought this VST when it first came out and it is THE BEST instrument out and a force in Music Production. What I love about it the most is it constantly keeps you experimenting with sounds like never before and takes you to another dimension. It also makes you pull up VSTs that you haven't used in awhile and turns them into gold!
Same, I grabbed it right of the bat, it's such a beautiful and inspiring instrument, I wish I had have conceived of it, art and function in perfect harmony....
Clear and concise explanation..(with enthusiasm) best tutorial I have seen and you obviously have spent the time to really learn the instrument..refreshing in this overwhelming wack-a-verse of information!
Great Video! Love you enthusiasm, it's inspiring, i bought Harmony Bloom instantly on seeing this video and connected it up to my Tempera, it's sick! Thank you so much for sharing!
Harmony Bloom is such an amazing tool. I bought it immediately after watching this video and created some amazing tracks in a few minutes. Great walkthrough!
One of the benefits of Bitwig is that you can put Harmony Bloom before any VST instruments and the MIDI will just feed seamlessly with no need to do tedious capture record. Makes it super easy to just let it run and make musical sequences.
@@b3owu1f yes because this is all done on the say track in Bitwig with no additional routing. It’s literally just two instruments in series on one track lane.
Wow I've been waiting for something like this for years now, I'm so glad TH-cam algorithm showed me this, also great tutorial of it, you answered all the right questions
I made a few pieces now with Harmony Bloom like you showed here and it works great, even with 6 Blooms. Apart from Paul's Stretch it also works great with Dawesome Love if you have it. The possibilities are endless and Mario is developing very active in Harmony Bloom. It's a great tool.
Really impressive how quickly you put this all together Chris. I like the idea of feeding the same piano sound into two channels, one stretched and the other "raw". I remember seeing HB a while back and noting that I needed to get it, but I haven't done so yet. I think it's time to go for it!
When I saw your reel yesterday, you tipped me on the idea of using an LFO to modulate movement of the radial shape. I need to give that a go in Bitwig!
13:14 its so interesting you should say that. One of the things ive been on the hunt for recently is a standard (software) midi sequencer that I can use to send notes to my other VST. Something simple that lets me specify tge number of steps, the synchronized duration of the sequence (maybe a way to automate the individual steps as well as a to swap between sequences) and that has a nice approchable interface. But all I can seem to find in this vein are sequencers that arent trying to be that.
Harmony Bloom is a phenomenal plugin 👌Thanks so much for creating this tutorial! Really helped me understand how to use it and work with it. I'd heard of PaulXStretch, but never looked into it until I followed along with this video--another phenomenal tool! Thanks so much man! 👊
Great use of this plugin. Followed it through. Do you have a video about mixing and mastering to the right levels for these kind of atmospheric tracks - sttll aim for the -14db ?
Thanks for this tutorial, loving Harmony Bloom ,I do not have Ableton but I can replicate the lfo into Harmony Bloom within waveform free with no routing just drop harmony bloom before any vst instrument drag the lfo tool onto bloom and pick the parameter you want to modulate and away you go , wouldn't have even tried this without the tutorial,it's awesome thanks again👍
Just curious why you didn't use Vital as opposed to Pigments in this video! This is one of the most useful Harmony Bloom demo videos that I've yet to see. Cheers, Chris!
Thank you for this Chris. I was already a Harmony Bloom user, but I found your tutorial so helpful. I was particularly fascinated by your use of an LFO for modulating one of the Offset parameters, so of course I had to see if it is possible in Reaper. For any Reaper user out there, you can apply a LFO to any of the settings within Harmony Bloom (or any other VSTs) by using the Parameter Modulation function (page 380 of the User Guide).
Great video, I love your enthusiasm. I believe the 1010 nano box lemon drop can achieve the same sound in a small fraction of the time albeit with less control over the outcome. Keep it up. 👍🏼
how have i not found this channel?! i just got harmony bloom and its perfect for ambient with my Norns and Mood MKII pedal. Do you have any jam videos where its less demonstrative and informative but performance like?
Thanks for the introduction, I bought the plugin yesterday and have already experimented a lot with it The User interface is self-explanatory with so many options. Amazing Sequencer, the only limitation there may be is your imagination. For example, consider the combination with Stepic or Hypnus devices... 🤪
Really a novel way to generate sequences. Of course to make it sound as wunderful as Chris, takes a lot more, but I always learn some new tricks in his videos, and with practice and repitition, i might slowly get there. Thank you for the inspiration 😊
I don't think I have ever seen any program "render" a sequence. So let's say you like the settings and you want to record it. You want a full 60 minutes of midi notes. I am gathering currently that you would have to wait for it to play for an hour while it records. Well...what about having a "duration setting" and have the program "render" the sequence and create a .midi with that hour long midi file? Just a thought.
This is a great sequencer, indeed! This plugin does in a few minute, what it would take someone hours to program into a piano roll. Great video, too! Adding to Paul's, is a great idea! I know the Hourglass granular dev, made the Paul's vst, I really wish the dev would make an Hourglass VST.
Thank you for the detailed demo! Bought the plugin right away. Quick question, any away to achieve LFOi modulation in Logic, is there a comparable plugin that would do the same on Logic Pro X?
You can divide it up to 1024 in the quantization but you can only have 82 notes max. It's less about precision and more about letting the randomness do the trick. Your mileage may vary my friend!
@@s1gns0fl1fe thank you for the speedy response! May just stick with the oxi as I want weird off times where some stuff is late and some early; not just a dedicated swing and what not
Hi Chris.I find your channel really a very informative one. .It would be great to know whether you use DT770 250 ohm or 80 ohm ???? and whichever you use between the two do you find it good for Mixing and Mastering ??? I'm just starting out so need to chose between the 80ohm and 250 ohm for learning to mix...
I use the 250ohm and they are great headphones. Suitable for both mixing and mastering! Be sure your audio interface can drive the 250s. If it can, I highly recommend them over the 80ohm version. Hope that helps!
ohhh my it looks really easy - ableton live if more simple then logic pro x that i use - my point would be to record the actual notes produced - to make tracks - i mean not to perform only .... dont know maybe you have some suggestions to give even if i use a different daw - i am italian - and i do not understand everything you say ....

Yes there is already a lot of videos out there. But none of them videos is showing an intentional use of the tool. Those videos are purely experimental, sometimes in the best TH-cam-video meaning, which is not to be confused with 'experimental music'. They simply sound like crap because the video maker randomly pressed buttons. 'wow you can click on this button and also on this button. Can I click on that button as well?'.
