Hi, I started following you in 2018. Taking your advice (and example) of getting a new tractor. I did purchase the Kubota B2650…. Got the cab, backhoe, box blade, blade, pallet forks, front mount hydraulic post hole digger, and the CLAW. I continue to enjoy your tractor videos, keep up the good work. I am really writing because you picked up a laser! CONGRATULATIONS ! I ordered my laser at the end of 2022 and received it around June 2023, I know a long wait. Gave me time to study up. I have a Aeon Super Nova 14, it has a 130W CO2 and a RF 30W. At the time of purchase, they also included a 50W Fiber laser…which I have greatly enjoyed as well. Fortunately for me, I am retired and do not rely on a financial return from my laser. My heart goes out to those who start using the laser with unrealistic expectations of big financial returns, some do very well. If you ever have any questions or suggestions on where to look for laser information, please feel free to contact me. Greatly enjoy your videos.
Hey Bob! Thanks so very much. I have a lot to learn and am loving every minute. These lasers are pretty awesome. Thanks for your offer - I will certainly take you up on it. And yes, I agree - some channels try to hype up the income side of it which, I agree, I think few are successful and sadly, many don't realize that anticipated return. But I love this new hobby which I will make some products to sell at some point, but like you, It keeps the old retired mind sharp and interested - LOL - and I am honestly amazed on how much I have been able to absorb in such a little time. Always feel free to offer advice or correct me on my videos as I continue to learn. Wish you all the best!
I noticed you have trouble seeing oil level on dipstick, especially when it’s brand new. I have the same issue with the MX and it’s a sight glass. I hate that thing. I’ve had to drain overfill on it twice because I couldn’t see level. Enough rant. I’ll check out your new channel as I have also been studying these laser machines but afraid to pull the trigger. I’ll watch you. Have a good day.
I heard that same 'rumour' some time ago and didn't think it was true. Thanks very much for confirming the myth. Your's is the first I've seen about it. As it turned out, I didn't go through with purchasing the LX-2610 I that I almost got; 2 reasons - the noise I 'was' going to put up with & the 'initial shutter' , I found a bit later, the transmission did every time from a stop and then moving slowly forward or backward. Kubota told me that's just the way they work; nothing wrong - I didn't quite believe their thinking. I did have my vision on an LX-4020, but again the dealer told me none were insight to arrive anytime soon, so they showed me the Grand L6060 Anniversary - their 2nd and last one. A bit overkill, but I managed to get the L6060 Anniversary Edition (TLB) with snowblower - it's a beast. Also, I was disappointed to find the LX-2620 is not the same as the LX-3520 and LX-4020 models - not sure why Kubota did that. I've been thinking about making a channel for my new tractor and things done with it, but am over-welmed a bit; taking all the video and then editing. Anyway, I'm did subscribe to your new channel and looking forward to watching. Thanks, Gord ... and as you say 'Cheers'!
Thanks Gord! I had it delivered with the snow blower attached and still awaiting a good snow fall. So far this winter has been a 'dud' for my area (N. Maryland)@@GPOutdoors
My first tractor was a 1948 Ford 8N. I really loved that tractor and I owned it for about 12 years. That said I finally decided to part company with it and treat myself to the L3301 three years ago. After I took delivery I was totally convinced that there was something seriously wrong with it because of that whining noise. I visited a buddy who also owned one and that is when I learned that it was “normal”. That still blows my mind when I think about that 75 year old 8N and the so much more acceptable sounds that it made, albeit not hydraulic. Cheers from Little Glamor Lake.
Hi Gord I will definitely check out your other channel for sure . we got a storm here Wednesday snow and high winds and then switched to rain big mess . an more coming Saturday take care cheers
Here too Tom, but now that melted slush turned to ice on me. So it looks like I will be scraping it after all, to get ready for what is supposed to be about 2 feet coming tonight. Cheers and thanks!
Im a tech at a Bota dealership, let me say that the roumor is slightly true. The Hydrostatic drive and the HST will start to whine if the fluid is even a qt low, but you have a Cabin model, there is something about the cabins and the way they are built that amplifies the noise from yhe transmissions, and it affects every Kubota model with a cabin, buy yourself a decent set of hearing protection, somthing with audio is good, and enjoy not having to be in yhe elements whike working
Good day and thanks for the helpful info. I have noticed that so try to keep the fluid up. I use Isotunes :)) Cheers and wish you all the best. Thanks again!
HelloGP. We received 12 inches of snow then heavy rain and strong wind washed all of the snow away. Glad your received snow. We have another storm coming. I will check out your new You Tube channel. Can't wait to learn about your new endeavor. Good luck!
When you finally do get some good snow, I would love it if you did a long form video that's just you firing it up and showing the whole job (maybe a normal short edit with it, too). I'm from the northern panhandle of West Virginia, and we used to get good snow and winters, my brother even made an ice rink in the side yard. Now we get hardly anything and people get excited by a few inches. So watching these videos helps me cope with our lame winters and nice to watch when I'm struggling with my insomnia haha!
Hey Gord, That always bugged me too! I'm glad they got it fixed for the new owners!!!!! I was a B2650 cab guy as you know... long story! lol I went to your new channel..looks great!
GP I live near Keswick which I have mentioned before. I've plowed snow since 1988 and I can say this is the least amount of snow I have ever seen for our area. I have asphalt regrinds on my driveway and I have yet to plow it this winter. That will change tonight with the 10cm coming. I'm headed over to LaserNUG now. Good luck but I'm sure you'll do well.
LOL! Thanks Terry. NUG is an old term we used around here for new guys ( New Useless Guy) - ie me on the laser. It was a term of endearment meant in fun back when I was younger. Cheers and thanks again!
Happy healthy 2024. I just registered on your new Channel and will be watching your videos over the next few days. I have never used a laser engraver but am always interested in learning. Two years ago I bought a Rockler State Park sign making kit and using my router made all the trail signs for a friend's woodlot as well as routed many signs as gift to good friends and family. Enjoy the new learning experience and don't forget that you are not alone....I'm sure your daughter will be looking over your shoulder every step of the way and be proud of her super dad ;) Cheers my friend
Good luck on your new adventure into laser engraver. I know a young kid around here that is making a good start with his own business engraving everything he can.
Congratulations on the new channel. Been a funny winter so far just when you get a good base on your driveway the snow melts. When I looked at new tractor to replace my JD 2520 it came down to a Kubota 2610 or a Kioti 3510 both were about the same price. I went with the Kioti because it felt bigger inside, more HP and coming from a JD I preferred the hst pedal setup over the Kubota. I have noticed the whine in your videos and while mine does it sometimes it's pretty quiet. 6 years and some 600 hours later no real regrets both good brands. I will be doing a complete service in the spring, I change the trans fluid and filters and coolant every 2 years and the oil and fuel filter every year. More snow coming this weekend apparently.
Yup, I am hoping for a little here too. Got to scrap that ice out this morning first though. It melted and then quick froze on me. LOL. Great to hear good feedback on the Kioti. Have a great weekend Chris!
After getting excited about a Kubota years ago, then researching them against the competition, I bought a Massey for a ton of little reasons. Never regretted the choice. Dealer support not as strong, but the machine (an Iseki) is beefier for the class.
After checking with my Kubota service department, I started adding a hydraulic dye to the oil because I have a heck of a time seeing it on the dipstick on the LX and the sight glass on the MX. Is it full or not? Now I know. They said that any dye can work. I use Kingscote Red.
Hi G.P. That’s great news about your new channel and hobby. About the tractor I did the service on my BX last year and it’s the same way whining. I see you used genuine Kubota parts and fluids as I did. Some folks might say it’s not necessary, but I feel better using OEM. It doesn’t cost much more and it takes away any doubt about part quality. Thanks for sharing looking forward to the new channel
Yes not cheap. the Aquiline MPC style Guy just got for his L3400 are several hundred less, plus there is a discount code in the description of the video for you. Take care
Hey GP, I told my wife we had a little Wine in the diff of our car. Next thing I found was her under the car with a glass trying to get the Wine out. I think she has a problem…. 🇦🇺🍷🍷
My dealer installed the Super UDT2 when mine was brand new and it isn’t very loud unless I strain it on a big hill or I’m pulling a big load. But mine is a ROPS version and I’ve heard they are quieter, maybe due to it not echoing through the cab?
My dealer told me to just change the hydraulic filters and top up the fluid ,on my 6060 that takes 5-9 litres depending on how fast you can spin on the new filter
Sent the hydro in at 200 Hrs. on the MX 6000 to Blackstone labs for an initial test. They recommended filter changes as insolubles where at the max at 0.1%. Then run the oil another 200 hrs. to 400. Both filters were changed at the 30 hr. mark as well.
It's great that he helps, pulling cars ,suv from the ditch. But you may need a fiber web belt , in Canada princess auto in the states harbor freight. When a steel chain goes, it's like a bullet
We are considering getting an LX3520, as we need the horsepower boost from the LX2610 we have. Haven’t decided on cab or ROPS yet, but a cab sure would be nice. Less whine isn’t the reason for the upgrade, but I wouldn’t miss it, either.
It is good to have hobbies! I have been interested in the laser engraving, I will subscribe! We have another messy storm coming in tomorrow evening, snow/rain/wind, have to get it cleaned up before the next day when it drops into the twenties for the next week!
Here too Bob! I got ice from the quick drop in temp and forecasting a big dump in the next 24 hours. I'm already up and having coffee, getting ready. Cheers!
I go sub to your new channel GP. See what it’s all about. Good snow storm headed for us also and cold weather so look8mg forward to that. Have a great weekend and ❄️Think Snow❄️
Good Day Start Trek GP 😇👍👌 Yes Manual is THE VITAL FACTOR FOR ANY TRACTOR MAINTENANCE 👍😇👌Sorry about the noise that you are getting 😢I will go see your new channel GP 🙏🙏😇Be Well GP and Be Safe Sir Cheers 😇👌👍🍻
Hello GP! I will be subscribing to your new channel. Looking forward to tagging along. I too had the same results when I changed my hydraulic fluid to the premium stuff. But also, I didn't know there was supposed to be a noise reduction from it. Lol, my B 2650 sounds the same and that's fine with me. Cheers GP!
Hey Gord, will be over to the other site too as soon as I get through with this comment. It's good to see you in your Jovial Self again. A little winter to work in and rekindling the dream will do that. Enjoyed the reasoning for not filming the 400 hours maintenance on the Kubota. Safety and friends privacy respected. Stay safe and keep up the good videos on here. See you in your other shop in a few. Fred.
Hey thanks very much Fred. Yes, I didn't want to tie up his garage longer than needed - he was awfully kind letting me borrow it. Thanks agin - have a nice weekend!
Hi Gord! Some interesting thing about Kubota brand oils is that Canada has different fluids than the US. I live in Southern Ontario, and when I went to get the UDT oil for the first time, I noticed that it was different than the US site had listed. They have 2 UDT oils, one is called UDT2 and is a synthetic. Canadians have the Premium UDT as the only option I believe. The reasoning for different oils is that it is something to do with the oil companies and their rights for cross-border sales. I still use the Kubota brand oils after 4 years of owning my BX23S. The whining is a mechanical issue, not a lubricant issue as you have noted with the newer re-designed models. Also, make sure that you double-check the front axle fluid after a couple hours of use because the oils initially have air pockets that need some time to bleed out to a proper level. Cheers!
I’m an hour or so north of you. Looks like winter is coming tonight. Good luck on the new websitesite. Happy to subscribe to it. Keep the fire on tonight and fingers crossed for a good old canada snow dumping. Be busy tomorrow. Cheers
hey GP, great video. did you have to put wheel spacers on your LX2610 if so, what size was it. I have a B2650 i called the dealer they said it's 1 3/8" spacers for the chains.
Hiya GP, your timing couldn’t be better, my wife and I just purchased our first laser to enhance our woodworking hobby. Can’t wait to take that journey with you! PS, I’ll send you some sub zero F temps if you send us some snow. Pretty bleak here in the Tetons this winter..
and the deere and newholland dealer here in pei there tax is 35% wich rediclas at the deere and newholland lucky kubota and case still have it at affordable cost comparing the deere and newholland and save good bit of money at kubota
Wow, where is the tax 15%? Also, which 26 hp Kubota costs $47K in your area? The MSRP on an LX2610 with loader, 60" bucket and R4s is about $26K, according to the Kubota website. $19k is a hell of an upcharge! Yikes 😮😮😮...
About that rumour: one of the reasons some people might believe that it is true is because after completing the hydraulic fluid replacement the whine on their tractor was reduced. But the reason was that the fluid level before servicing had gotten quite low and they had not topped it off. I have four Kubota's and through the years I have been able to hear a whine increase anytime that I allowed the fluid level to get even moderately lower than optimum levels. I doubt that it is just me.
Morning Eugene. I think that is a great point for folks - thanks for sharing. I have found the same thing with this one too - I can tell I need to top it up as it does get more persistent when the fluid is getting lower. Thanks again!
I hadn't heard the "rumor" yet, so glad to have my expectations right-sized beforehand! Hope a snow video follows! Subbed to the new channel...will follow this development closely. These things intrigue me. 😎👍
Are we sure the LX2620 received the same transmission update that the 3520 and 4020 received? Either way for what they are asking now price wise you can buy a whole lotta hearing protection. Thanks for the video
Morning Dude. That's what I was told - LOL - yup, some pretty nice hearing protection indeed. Have a nice weekend out there! Snow is supposed to be on the way here.
Hydro whine is a magical sort of thing. Some designs only whine under heavy load, some whine all of the time. Some individual tractors of the same model are quieter than other versions of the same model. None of that really matters, the problem is when a tractor starts whining all the time, when it didn't before, or gets a lot louder. Good luck with the LASER, now you'll probably have to learn some fundamental programing to really get the full value out of the machine.
I though Guy's tractor was a standard shift? What world is a Nug? To be honest I'd rather have a tractor with steering brakes even if it meant shifting but I don't see me get out of a city lot anytime soon. Not giving up hope but... Good luck on your new channel, hope it means quality time with your girl. Best wishes!
How's she goin'? Nice to see the snow. We have had some snow around here but not like we normally would have this time of year. It has been cold though. Just like winter! Neat idea to start a laser engraving channel. I hope that goes well for ya. Take care!!
I'm in GP, been following you since you started. Love the content so thank you for all you've done, it is quite amazing! Headed to check out laser engraving now, looking forward to it.
Greetings from eastern Ontario. I'll be sure to subscribe to your new channel and best of luck in that endeavor. GP you are braver than I am regarding the 400 hour service. My L4060 has 42 litres of hydraulic oil! I had the Kubota dealer take care of it. And yes winter has arrived. It started snowing after New Year's and hasn't stopped. Cheers.
Hi GP- Just wondering if you use anti-gel additive to your diesel fuel and, if so, what temperature do you start to use it and how much do you use? Thanks! mawgas
Happy New Year, GP! Good time to start a new channel. I'll certainly subscribe, like and watch your videos. I like beginners using new things. Sometimes you learn the hard way but you learn the right way. The whine will have to stay with my 2650. The prices for new are outrageous. Cheers!
Sorry to hear the whine is still there. of course you Kubota guys do whine LOL. My LS doesn't whine. But I'll be joining you on your other channel as well. As I said before, you are one of the best presenters on TH-cam. Take care and God Bless.
Hi G.P. just a suggestion on how to clear unfrozen drive way what I do is turn the back blade around and clean the snow by doing it this way it minimize the lost of gravel plus if you hit a stone it will just roll over it . Also are you using a bra to clean your oil stick LOL Yves from East Ontario
Thanks Gord.
Hello Gord, i will check out your new channel 🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Thanks folks!
See you at the new channel ! Cheers!!
SD!! Thanks!
I agree.all mud no frozen ground at all.not blading or snowblowing.

Maybe talk to your dealer about getting some sound deadening around the transmission, might mask the whining sound
Laser Hug looks like it'll be good project. Subscribed and glad to do it
Thanks kindly Mike. I appreciate it very much. Cheers!

Thanks Pete!
Very cool new "hobby"!!! 👍👍👍
No whine in the B2601.
LOL! Nope. I remember. :))
Best of luck with the new channel! I will subscribe and check out some videos.
Thanks!
Cool. I’ll head over and subscribe. Yeh the BX with fresh super UDT hydro fluid still wines as well. Good luck on the new venture! Cheers, Mike.
Thanks very much Mike! I appreciate it alot. Cheers!
We are considering getting an LX3520, as we need the horsepower boost from the LX2610 we have. Haven’t decided on cab or ROPS yet, but a cab sure would be nice. Less whine isn’t the reason for the upgrade, but I wouldn’t miss it, either.
Good luck Dan!
Cheers!
Happy New Year Gord! Excited to subscribe and follow along with your new channel! Have s great weekend!
Thanks so much Doug! Have a good one!
I go sub to your new channel GP. See what it’s all about. Good snow storm headed for us also and cold weather so look8mg forward to that. Have a great weekend and ❄️Think Snow❄️

Thanks Dave! God luck with the snow! LOL!
Happy New Year GP ! 😉
Bubba!! happy New Year!
Cheers GP!
Cheers and thanks very much!
Cool video GP. I have a Tym tractor. It’s hydro is whiny too. I’ll check out your new channel.
Thanks W55!
Cheers!
Thanks Brent - I needed the reminder - i forgot to check it the other day. Thanks again!
I’m an hour or so north of you. Looks like winter is coming tonight. Good luck on the new websitesite. Happy to subscribe to it. Keep the fire on tonight and fingers crossed for a good old canada snow dumping. Be busy tomorrow. Cheers
Fingers crossed ! Thanks Todd!
hey GP, great video. did you have to put wheel spacers on your LX2610 if so, what size was it. I have a B2650 i called the dealer they said it's 1 3/8" spacers for the chains.
Yes for sure- spacers are needed and those were the ones. Good luck!
LOL! I'd help but not much here either. supposed to be coming tonight. :)) Cheers and thanks!
Most of the "WHINING" now is from the thousands added to the price of these tractors this year. A 26HP Kubota now costs $47000.00 plus 15% tax. :(
my kubota and case dealer usually have sales on them plus $500 to $1,000 off any attachments
LOL! Yeesshh. that's a big price tag. Thanks!
and the deere and newholland dealer here in pei there tax is 35% wich rediclas at the deere and newholland lucky kubota and case still have it at affordable cost comparing the deere and newholland and save good bit of money at kubota
@@watershedoverlookagreed. That price doesn't make sense
✌️😜A Blessed New Year to you Brother 🇨🇦 God Bless us All 🇺🇸🙏✝️
I hadn't heard the "rumor" yet, so glad to have my expectations right-sized beforehand! Hope a snow video follows!
Subbed to the new channel...will follow this development closely. These things intrigue me. 😎👍
Morning Chris! Thanks very much - it is really interesting. Have a nice weekend!
We’re supposed to get a foot or so here (UP) this weekend I’ve used the blower twice so far this year, crazy.
Gord, Thanks for the translation from Metric to Imperial! 😀 Cheers
Cheers Mike!
How's she goin'? Nice to see the snow. We have had some snow around here but not like we normally would have this time of year. It has been cold though. Just like winter! Neat idea to start a laser engraving channel. I hope that goes well for ya. Take care!!
Thanks Grampie! You too!
Happy New Year Gord! I will be checking out your Laser Nug site! As always love your videos. Stay safe!
Cheers and thanks Patrick!
I'm in GP, been following you since you started. Love the content so thank you for all you've done, it is quite amazing!
Headed to check out laser engraving now, looking forward to it.
Thanks so much! Cheers!
Cheers.
Thanks L! Wow - that's a lot of fluid. Cheers!
Hi GP-
Just wondering if you use anti-gel additive to your diesel fuel and, if so, what temperature do you start to use it and how much do you use?
Thanks!
mawgas
Might have to get another Skidoo!
LOL!
Happy New Year, GP! Good time to start a new channel. I'll certainly subscribe, like and watch your videos. I like beginners using new things. Sometimes you learn the hard way but you learn the right way. The whine will have to stay with my 2650. The prices for new are outrageous. Cheers!
Morning and thanks . They sure are. Thanks again and all the best!
What lake are you on Gord ?
I am on Wolfe Lake.
Where is the new snowbloing video
Tell Ralph time to start his own channel.
Sorry to hear the whine is still there. of course you Kubota guys do whine LOL. My LS doesn't whine. But I'll be joining you on your other channel as well. As I said before, you are one of the best presenters on TH-cam. Take care and God Bless.
LOL! Thanks you very much Jerome. Have a wonderful weekend out there!
Hi G.P. just a suggestion on how to clear unfrozen drive way what I do is turn the back blade around and clean the snow by doing it this way it minimize the lost of gravel plus if you hit a stone it will just roll over it . Also are you using a bra to clean your oil stick LOL Yves from East Ontario
LOL!
Some of the whining can get pretty loud to listen to.
Tried getting on with no success
Hey thanks Don. I fixed the link - it works now. Cheers!
Lol
@LaserNUG
Thanks!
