The 39mm glassbox is such a brilliant platform. I love that they are coming out with not only variants, but variants that have their own personalities. You've got the beautiful blue with the date at 6, the black with a date at midnight, the stunning green Dato with a date at 9, the Skipper with its own identity and movement variation, and the Chronosprint X Porsche with its own dial and movement variation. Due to the giant dial driven by the design of the watch, 39mm doesn't appear too small even on my 7 inch wrist and giant body. The 39mm glassbox Carrera chrono is the star of TAG Heuer's collection (no offense to Monaco fans).
The Dato has never been my type, but I always respected the history and design of it. Having said that, the regular Carrera is one of my favorite watches of all time. What Tag Heuer is doing with the glassbox design is also a great move. Wild that they first launched this design style on their Connected 42 mm a few years back.
Is it safe to let the chrono hand run continuously all day? How would it effect the power reserve? Would doing so risk wearing down the gears or increasing the chance of damage from being banged around?
I suspect 39 is smaller than the profile I like on my 8 inch wrist but this is a Tag Heuer design I would buy on impulse. Gorgeous colour, awkward asymmetry for interest. I like... and no Harrison - that watch is not going on a nato.
Is it worth the money? It’s a cool design, but there is an awful lot of dust on the dial and hands for a $6000 watch. And the Seiko column wheel/vertical clutch mechanical chronograph Speedtimers on bracelet are less than half the price.
No they’re not. Prices are close to the likes of Omega Speedmaster but these are still quirky Tag Heuer watches. That green dialled model with back to front dial design is simply weird, it was weird in the 60es and it’s weird today.
In my experience of owning around 10 tags the quality is not there for the price point and I’ve taken a haircut on every one I’ve moved on. As Adrian Barker said it’s a premium brand not luxury. It’s all opinion
Seems like Tag is finally figuring out what modern consumers want. About time!
Tag is smashing it at the moment!!
Let’s get away from paving slabs.
Absolutely stunning and quirky watch with a powerhouse movement. Tag are back and smashing it
Amen to that!!

10months later and I've just revisited this watch. This thing is a banger and is simply stunning. Awesome work here Harrison.
This is a great looking watch.
Tag def inching closer to me being a fan… would rock it on a racing leather strap… great size/specs/heritage… what not to like!

Love it. Finally something different in watchland.
I love this Amazing Watch ❤
I love the way the rehaut meets the dial in the glass box range. Today I’m wearing an Oris Propilot Okavango.
The Dial color is amazing. For me too Thick. I gope they release on W&W a new 3 hands carrera with this color
I agree. I wish it was one or two mm thinner
Beautiful looking watch. Are TAG Heuer back on track?? 🤔
What are you prepared to discount? 20%?
Today I'm wearing an Aqua Terra 41 mm 8900 in green, which I just picked up today to celebrate my daughter's upcoming birth!
Epic!! And what an occasion, congrats mate
Congratulations! Ihave that watch too. Love it and the 8900 movement.
Dial is really appealing in person. More than tkis video demonstrates
That is beautiful. Excellent color and the single sub dial is a good call. It's stunning and I want it

How does the secondhand work?
I see you can configure this model on tag’s site. It looks absolutely killer with the grey leather strap option…
Really like the direction TH is moving. Lets see what they release at Watches and Wonders 2024.
Worth every penny!

The Tag Heuer Carrera wasn't introduced in the 60's, the Heuer Carrera was. This watch looks lovely.
Beautiful watch, great review. Only criticism is NO ON NATO.... Anything else but..
The green color/texture is amazing, but damn, that dial design looks wonky. It severely lacks symmetry.
So it’s just swiss not swiss made?

it’s a beauty! (but … , can’t afford it)
Nice looking watch, but at 6k not interested. Nato strap? Really?
👏💪👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Carreras are meant to be on leather straps!. Wish it was Heuer instead of Tag
Too thick and like all Tag watches the price is 50% too high 🤦🏻♂️
Is it worth the money? Simple answer. NO.
It's worth whatever anyone is prepared to pay, all watches have gone up in price at a higher rate than CPI.

Nah.
Take TAG off the dial.
It's a Tag Heuer not a Heuer
Boomer
Total miss. And I’m a TAG enthusiast. That dial looks like the sunbursting was done with sandpaper
Looks like a ¨frankenwatch¨….no thanks.
There's an American version of you, and you're the Brit version of him, same name too! @HarrisonElmore
