The SeaQ is quickly becoming my favorite watch. Might be my first big luxury purchase. I liked all the Omega’s but I wish that first one had a sweeping seconds instead of small. I love Longines, but I’d probably go Zulu Time because of the truly unique look. It has its own design. But not a poor choice on your list, all amazing pieces.
You’re spot on when it comes to those three criteria. I’m trying to slow down my buying and selling frequency and just focus on this criteria for long-term keeper watches. I’m wearing my Speedy today since it’s Tuesday! Also, I would have chosen the Explorer in lieu of the Daytona, and the Spirit Zulu in lieu of the Hydroconquest. I think those two watches have a bit more history and simplicity.
My first luxury watch is the omega white dial speedmaster. I’m also currently on a waiting list for a Rolex sub date. That will be my watch collection completed.
I have this same watch for over 6mos now and I can tell you right now this is the best watch you can wear in LA anytime of the day without attracting attention. I love this watch and never regretted buying it. All my Rolex are waiting for wrist time bec of this speedy.
@@hammalamiri12 The point is I can (and did, it takes 10 seconds each) look them up, and now I know, and I'm not even presenting a video professing my knowledge about those places. It's self-discrediting to put zero effort into basic and obvious details.
I recently learned about Bucherer “peripheral rotor” movements and they’re absolutely insane. They allow the movement to be manual-wind thin but with an automatic movement. Why don’t MANY more, if not all manufacturers use this method of winding? It’s absolutely brilliant looking.
Today on my wrist is one of the best (if not the) best values in the watch market. The Longines Triple Calendar column wheel chronograph with Moonphase and pointer date in 40mm with the Ivory dial on a bracelet with butterfly clasp.
Went into my old watch drawer and picked out my Spinnaker Hull Chronograph with a green dial. Its a quartz but I like the look and haven't worn it in a while. Thanks for another great vid Harrison.
Personally all of these watches I cannot afford. I am happy with the couple of Seiko 5 watches that I wear free time to time. My favourite automatic watch I wear though is my Hamilton Khaki King with the day and date function. Its nowhere near perfect but is good enough for me with it's 70 hour power reserve and in my case is accurate to +6 seconds per day. It's comfortable on the wrist as it is quite slim for an automatic watch. The only criticism I have is I think it should be water resistant to 100M being a field watch.
Jesus, the movement on that Vacheron is just a mechanical work of art. A masterpiece. Also, shout out to stainless steel bezels! 😅 On the wrist today is a Seiko SPB240 “MM200”👍🏻
Wrist Check… Doxa Sub 200T Professional on bracelet. Solid take on the watches. I have two of them, and the Tudor GMT you mentioned, which I am going to sell. Just have not connected to it. Keeping that BB monochrome as it has become my daily wear!
Côte de Genève is not Poinçon de Genève.. Côte de Genève is the most famous decoration in watchmaking (the striped finish). Poinçon de Genève is the Official Geneva Seal.
A very watchable video, with interesting selection criteria - a beautiful collection of watches! On my wrist right now is my SKMEI 9288 PRX homage (blue dial), which must peg the value for money meter.
Today's watch is a 3570.50 Moon watch from '98 and I have a Seamaster White dial on its way. Now to decide what to do with my Seamaster Chronograph with Blue dial.
Wrist today is Carl Bucherer Manero Flyback. I own that Ck859 it’s timeless Also own Speedmaster which is iconic. I really like that Glashutte , Longines but the Rolex would be my Favorite if I had to pick one. Thanks for the video.
I want them all. Very interesting video Harrison. Unfortunately I'll never afford a VC but the I'll definetly by the white moonwatch as my next watch also.
I just turned 60 and am looking more and more at the 36 to 38mm sized watches. No longer feel larger watches wear well on me. That being said my Panerai 380 is going nowhere. 😊
Fyi, Rado INVENTED sapphire crystals and they were the first to use them, ceramic, plasma, ceramos, tungsten carbide, all rado firsts, all the eta movements they use are upgraded by them and regulated and they just don’t go wrong, my all time favourite of my watches is my integral, i put this thing through hell and its 30 years old and nothing, i mean nothing fazes it. Buy the captain cook, u won’t regret it
Grand Seiko spring drive? I am currently wearing SRPH29 5 Sport Field series, as I work in the desert. I also own a SRPE53 5 Sports SKX series, which is a beauty for the price.
The IWC mark xx black dial is perfect for what it is. Omega CK859 has a weird looking handset, the hour and minute hands are almost the same length, not perfect. The Tudor monochrome will be perfect when they make a 39mm BB58 version. The VC overseas needs to be smaller, probably 38-39mm and needs more interesting handset and no date. The perfect speedmaster is the 321. Personally don't care about the others you mentioned.
Great choices except Rolex Daytona I just see the appeal. Wearing Blancpain bathyscape 43mm change out bracelet for watch Taylor custom strap leather black suede
I don't know why, but the hands on the white dial Speedmaster look to thin. I am sure they are the exact same size than the hands on the black dial Speedmaster, but they just appear really thin for some reason.
lacking a dress watch in this list! there arent a lot of modern dress watches smaller than 38mm but nomos makes some great casual dress watches and jlc has a great moon phase 36.
Inagree with half of your points: 1 - simplicity: Perfection is easier to achieve with simplicity. Although not all timeless patterns are simple, simplicity is a solid bet. However, a better design is simple on the surface, but reveals more as you look. 2 - reliability. Yes. With reasonable expectations. 3 - history. If you want it, you can't buy it new. A new Moonwatch has never been near Kennedy's space center. The easiest way to gain history is to wear your watch. And still, history has nothing to do with perfection. When a watch is perfect, it's done, it's as good as it can be. It's what it can do, not what it or its predecessors did.
On my wrist today, yesterday and tomorrow is a Seiko Automatic Diver 200m. It's just a work horse.
On my wrist today is my brand new Speedy I purchased yesterday! So excited!!!
FYI: The 15000 Gauss rating for Master Chronometers refers to its magnetic resistance, not to its beat rate.

I tried on the white speedy recently and it was very impressive indeed
Good video bro . Good selection of watches . Cheers
Today it's the Hamilton Khaki Field Auto Titanium 36mm, less is more!
I'm getting the sense, that once you go titanium, you can't go back. At first it feels to light, but then, steel feels way too heavy.

Seiko and Hamilton are both solid watch brands

❤ love that Vacheron, that movement is simply gorgeous,on my wrist today is my Longines hydroconquest 39mm blue dial

Surprised you went with the hydroconquest over the Zulu time. Do you think they're both on a similar level?
I thought the same thing. I thought he said the Zulu time was his favorite
The Zulu Time and Legend Diver getu vote ahead of the Hydroconquest
Tudor B.B. Monochrome of a jubilee buffed to a Matt finish, less flash.
Surprised the explorer wasn't mentioned but great list!
Seiko 5 GMT Blueberry. Beautiful watch.
Grey side of the moon on Chrono 24 is a steal ,thanks 🏴❤️🙏
For me, the fatal flaw of the Speedy is the winding. Small crown and it fights you. Not a great experience. Especially for a manual wind
VC in blue is beautiful tried it on in Miami about 7 yrs ago in mayors which is now owned by watches of Switzerland, but so expensive 🏴❤️🙏
I tried it on in Miami as well, about 5 years ago.
I would go for Cartier tank for this list in place of the Glashutte
