Excellent review, Semone. Your photography of this watch makes it look really fantastic. Between this in the Speedy, I would choose this. However, the 12 o’clock date wheel, and the price would make this a no go for me.
@@BowlOfSalmon Sure! The bracelet from 39mm Carrera 3 hands is a direct fit. There's no play between the case and the end link at all. If I have to guess, I'd say both watches share the same mid-case shape.
The date is quirky and a throw back to the model this one represents, which is why it's a bit different than the others. Great looking watch with a great movement. Bravo tag 🎉
i get the reference to the dato 12.. but it wasn't the brightest idea back then either right ? question ... why is the movement "great" .. i find NO details on it anywhere
Great video Tom! Definitely selling me on the Glassbox... "But they could have done worse and positioned the date window in between 4 and 5." - That really cracked me up!
I felt like Time and Tide (and of course the design of the watch itself) helped me make my decision on the glass box! Just got the Skipper yesterday. Ty Andrew and Marcus ;)
@@BowlOfSalmon Thank you! and Sorry if the T&T part threw you off lol because I was watching so many videos of the watch that I thought I was in the T&T Channel...
Great video! I have the same watch and had been wondering about different strap options but hadn’t seen anyone play with it yet in that way. Thank you for the ideas there!
I absolutely love these. Great size, great look and from when I tried it on, comfortable on wrist. I love the Skipper version, with my only small complaint being the Skipper word on the subdial. That one I've only seen in photos though. I've tried on the blue and black versions, and these actually feel appropriate for the price they've been charging. Thanks for pointing out the lume as I wasn't aware of that issue. That being said, I don't need a watch like that to be torch-like. Even some lume is enough. I have a chronograph without lume and it's quite annoying, especially since it doesn't have reflective markers and hands like the Carrera. I like the clear case back, but also appreciate that it's automatic, unlike the Speedy (I know why that one is manual). I hope we'll see a silver dial Panda model maybe this year, though I would be torn on which to get. This is definitely one of the top 5 watch releases of 2023 for me.
@@BowlOfSalmonI keep hoping Tudor will both release a blue P39 and NOT have that lume issue. It's shocking they can't resolve that easily, nor why they even had it in the first place. This is Tudor, not some cut rate brand.
I don't know how Tag Heuer managed to get this one so perfect and then to screw the Carrera Twin Time so badly!... I have the last one, actually bought it just to help a friend of mine in a delicate moment, but man is bad looking the Twin Time compared to this! Great watch and nice reviews!
I tried this again yesterday and the 42 Porsche version. I wish there was a bracelet. Maybe this year. Such a beautiful watch. The dial is so good. Another great review Tom. Tag is definitely lifting their game again. With a bracelet it would be a definite challenger for the Speedy. The size of the dial is much better than the Moonwatch.
I’ve got the 60th anniversary Carrera limited edition , I couldn’t find any info on the movement also, but mines about +3 secs a day, yes the lume is not the best but I know it’s not a dive watch so I don’t mind so much, the turning on the rotor is a bit noisy but besides these things everything else is great! ❤
Beautiful piece and awesome review! Going to pick the up the glassbox this weekend! Any idea if the original TAG deployment buckle would fit the Artem loopless strap?
Tried it. Still happy with my color combo. Personal preference I guess. Saw a few and tried the bracelet , didn’t make me want to get one at this point tbh
This was really small on my 7" wrist. The sales person says "everyone keeps saying that" The chronomaster looked more significant when I tried it on in Cozumel.
Not COSC certified but runs comfortably within COSC limits, I image the tradeoff is cheaper customer prices for no tradeoff on your. My Calibre 5 runs at +\-1 second a day depending on how much it is worn and rested… it’s also not a COSC certified chronometer but it sure as heck keeps time like one which means more than a line of text or a symbol on the watch cards to me at least
@@randombloke10 It’s a fair point about the dial text, but for me at these prices the watch should definitely include certification - whether it runs within it or not.
@@Gerryb92 it’s also one of the things that separates the Heuer Carrera from its competitors, the Carrera was designed by Jack Heuer to be the best chronograph for readability, designed for racers to quickly read the dial without distractions. They have released several pieces that just don’t quite live up to that DNA but this is bang on for what makes a Carrera a Carrera! I don’t need or want a book on my dial, I know what’s inside it, I know the performance of it, just give me a clean and highly legible dial which is why I’ve reserved the Reverse Panda. There’s very little like it nowadays
@@BowlOfSalmonI think no date would be the best option. I also didn't like the index on the previous Carrera, either. Exercising preferences is part of the enjoyment. Nice video, BTW.
Brilliant video. My top choice of 2023. I love all the strap options. ❤
Mine too! thanks for watching

Thank you. In terms of price I frown with both this and the current speedy price tbh
That blue dial with bracelet wrist roll is mine! Didn't think I'd see my photo here haha
Aha ! That’s great maybe you can elaborate what you did here and how is the fit to the lugs ? I’ll pin the comment

Incredible video my friend. I tried the Glassbox this past week actually and it’s fantastic 🔥
Thanks mate. Easy to fall in love with this one right ?
Sensational video Tom! And what a watch this TAG is, very impressive. Thanks for a great video 🙏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it! enjoy your weekend
Brilliant video, Tom. Love to hear honest thoughts about a watch and I honestly feel like this one is one of your watches, if you know what I mean.
The good the bad and the ugly but mostly the focus is on the beautiful things

I love date at 430 and at 12 just so long as they include it!
A rare sighting of a date lover 🤜

great piece that skipper . i initially set out to get that one but chickened out somehow and went for a safer option.. it's not out of my mind yet tho

Wow what a beautiful piece. Will it go on the (admittedly over populated) list? Time will tell. And lay off Zenith :P
Hehe decisions …
incredible unboxing~Bowl-
Thank you 🤗
Beautiful piece and awesome review! Going to pick the up the glassbox this weekend! Any idea if the original TAG deployment buckle would fit the Artem loopless strap?
I don’t think so no. It used that clamp system of holding the strap. Congrats on the pickup !
Awesome video ! Nice piece too !
Glad you like it! Thanks !
Beautiful Watch, and a great history behind it too, but not my cup of tea I’ll rather go for Speedmaster
I’d pick The speedy over it too. Lucky to have both
Nice review, thanks. What is the ARTEM strap you wear at [7:42] ?
Their Grey one. 20mm
beautiful watch ❤️💯😍👊🏻⌚️🇭🇷
Thx. I agree
I have the Tag Carrera love the watch with rubber band. I heard the band is made from the actual tire.
Haven’t tried it yet tbh. (Or even seen … ) Will check it out
Does the tag heuer deployment clasp fit onto the artem loopless strap?
I havent tried but I don't think it does
Do the 20mm spring pins fit? Or is there an actual 20.5 available?
For artem straps 21mm works best. Removing the quick release bars and inserting the og one
Also check out my most recent vid for more options
This is one of the only tag heuer models I really like but it would have to be around 3k or less to make me pull the trigger on one.
I’d get another one at this price too tho 😮
Very nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
What do you think about the newer Panda Carrera?

Beautiful watch. Unfortunately the thickness of the watch and the bad reputation of Tag among watch nerds may compromise its success.
It really ain’t that thick for a chrono , definitely doesn’t wear or look thick tbh. Give it a shot. And the brand
£5600 and not COSC Certified. Of course not a deal breaker but for that money, it really should be.
I do kinda ask myself the same question. Not many details available about it. But they have a great track record with the prev gen
