I just bought mine 4 days ago and it’s a blast to ride. I used to have a FZ09 which had more torque but the way you’re seated on that bike the suspension and the techs makes it a more refined bike it cuts through the wind and loves to be leaned to the sides for the very next corner . It’s not too powerful and scary. I would consider a ecu flash or a dyno tune I’m hesitating but I’m taking the fender off 😅
Bought my RS back in April as a way to get back in to biking after a 20 year break (long story) and got to say, love this machine! That induction noise is as addictive as the power delivery. And the handling is just sublime! Great video.
@@jamessprules6434 One more question, would you say you have been riding the bike hard, or more so “babying” the bike? These poor reliability rumors are making me anxious.
@@Halvex494 I will not claim I have been hammering the bike in terms of mileage, but I have not been gentle when I do ride. The rev range gets fully used! I get your concern, especially is you are not in Europe, but this bike was second hand and has given me no issues whatsoever.
I rode the Tuono 660 Factory, got off, went to the bank & showed up w/ $11,000.00. Less than 1 hour- it was mine. Best bike ever. Balance in every metric. I know, I know- it's ONLY 660cc's? The Big Aprilia's could learn some of the low weight tricks of the smaller bike. I had to turn 60 to be able to understand that it is all the bike I'll ever need? Sure, it lacks any off road licks but I have no off road skillz either-perfect match! Over-priced? Slightly. Worth every penny? YES.
Hello John , if possible Test Ride the 660 Extrema , you had experience with the Tuono Factory 1100 what's the major difference you have noticed considering is a 660 . I am planning on getting a 660 x track only
I bought my Ducati there! Not the best buying experience but definitely a huge selection of bikes, they were the only dealership fully stocked during Covdi in 2020.
For the mirror vibration, stuff Pelican Pick-n-Pluck foam pieces behind the mirror, ultimately making a foam cradle that stops the vibrations from being unbearable…. I stuffed about 8-9 pieces behind each mirror, and I can now see behind me just fine
I’ve had my Stars and Stripes edition for over a year now and my first actual modification will be an exhaust but man I love that bike more and more every time I ride it
I have the Stars and Stripes 🇺🇸 edition, I did the full SC project Ti exhaust with sprint air filter and Gabro racing Euro tune, rizoma mirrors, Ohlins suspension front and back,Pirelli supercorsa sp tires. It’s probably the best bike I’ve ever ridden and I’ve ridden all of them. From Japan to Italy. Aprilia really won with this bike. It’s amazing at the track, pulls ahead of r6’s all day coming out of corners and has enough speed for the straights for the 600 class. On the road it’s a comfortable ride and good TQ for passing. Looks don’t disappoint neither. My sport bike buddies are always swarming around it 😅

Got my rs660 4 months ago. Outside of some warranty repairs it has been. Wonderful motorcycle. I haven’t tested against gps but my dash says my max speed is 150 🥵 to be fair I had a little bit of downhill and a tail wind but idgaf it counts 😂😂😂
"outside of warranty repairs" - everywhere i look about this bike, it sounds broken right out of the box. don't get my wrong, on paper and listening to some owners it sounds amazing to ride but how can a huge brand like Aprilia come broken out of the box, especially being as expensive as they are. maybe i'm spoiled having had japanese bikes and not a single issue in 25,000 miles on the road, but these were all used.
Just got mine. I was nervous as it's my first bike. After 5 minutes I was already comfortable giving it some gas, it's quite easy to ride. I was impressed by how easy it is to gain some distance from normal speed going cars. I was also not sure what to expect from the quickshifter. At low speeds you feel a bump, but if you're accelerating it shifts smoothly.
Have this bike in Australia, we don't have the turn signal on mirror, we have them in the headlight, super fun bike I only have 600km on it so far but great bike
@switcherlp780 it should just be programming the turn signal is part of the running light, when you put a turn signal on the running light goes off and it flashes orange
You mentioned that you had a tuono 1100 factory. I'm going back and forth between the tuono 660 and 1100. I feel the same way you do about liter bikes and that it not as fun on the street bc you can rip through the gears. Which do you prefer? why? Thanks in advance and love all your videos! Keep up the good work!
What is the old saying? I think it is, small. Books are more fun to ride smaller bikes Ssow than big bikes are to ride fast! In my opinion, medium bikes like this. Aprillia 660 have the best of both worlds. I had a Suzuki Katana 600, Suzuki Volusia/ Boulevard which was an 800 and a Harley Davidson Road Glide. Absolutely, the road glide is wonderful. But I always had more fun on the smaller bikes.
The only thing I don't like is Mirror's vibration. The rest is awesome. Also, the weight of the bike is so low. After my CBR CBR600RR, Aprilia RS660, like a cloud ☁️ . Design is fantastic 👌 ❤❤❤
@@CYCLEFANATIXI gotta say, I’ve been going back and forth between getting a Busa or a gsxr 750. I been leaning towards the gsxr lately. I had a 2018 750 back in 2020 and idk why I sold it.
Lol I actually just traded my busa for the extrema. As much as I liked the busa, it wasn't very fun for everyday riding to me. I can manhandle the 660 and it rips through the twisties.

Sounds like an interesting mod for us USA people to run a turn signal to the headlight then and put on some stable mirrors.

But yes, you're right, the mirror is not good, vibration makes it hard to see clearly.
EU mirrors are shaking as well, not usable at all. Any fix or replacement?

You can change the mirror/indicators., the uk and aussy version has them in the headlights and normal mirrors.
