Hi there. This was just a review bike so I only had it for 2 weeks. I believe the very early ones had some issues but they seem to have been ironed out. It also depends a lot on your dealer. Forgot to ask, how smooth of a ride is it? Does it feel like its levitating off the ground when riding it? Or is it a bit rough? I think smoothness is based off of aerodynamics (not entirely sure though). I hear the s1000rr is smooth as butter and i know the r7 is quite smooth.
I think the smoothness you mean is generally due to the engine character and suspension (the fairing/aerodynamics definitely help too). This would be comparable to the R7, similar engine design and bike. The rs 660 is more street biased and I found it to be a pretty smooth ride. Hope that helps
One month ago I bought 2023 rs660. I think it's still the same. I didn't use a bike comes with quickshifter or blipper before and I don't have that much miles on it but when you try to down shift, lever is hard and you feel like it didn't wanna go down. When you use clutch it didn't feels like that. Also when you go 1->2 or 2->1 sometimes it can't do that and you find yourself on neutral. After I found out that I'm trying not to use quickshifter on these gears. If I need to be honest it didn't bother me that much. I watched so many videos before buying, this dude maybe only one the talking about that.

@@onthebackwheelNopes. All Japanese ones are everywhere. The closest to the city is Triumph (owned by Pater Stevens). Even they recommend going to the Ringwood one.. I am 5 feet 8. Would I be OK to balance it?
Yes. Quite a different riding position and that 890 is really good value (depending where you live). One annoying thing with the 890 is you need to pay for the tech where the 660 comes with it all

@@onthebackwheel Thanks mate!
Thinking about grabbing a 23. Any issues like what others are complaining about?
This was only a review bike so I can't talk about long term reliability. I believe after some initial problems they have ironed out the kinks though
Another cracking review, subbed! Keep it up pal
Thanks mate, very appreciated
did this bike turn heads when you ride around in the city?
It got some looks for sure
Anyone else having a downshifting problem? Does it smooth out after some miles put into it? Did they fix the issue (since it's 2023 now) ?
Hi. Are you in Melbourne? Any issues with the bike. The Ringwood Peter Stevens is about 70 kms from my place and so I have second thoughts on buying this. I am fu**ed if anything goes wrong
I'm in Brisbane. 70kms isn't too bad! I didn't have any issues with the bike. I heard the very first batch had a specific problem but that has been fixed now. It's a cool bike, definitely recommend it. Aren't there a few dealers in the Melbourne area or is that your closest?
@@onthebackwheelNopes. All Japanese ones are everywhere.
The closest to the city is Triumph (owned by Pater Stevens). Even they recommend going to the Ringwood one.. I am 5 feet 8. Would I be OK to balance it?
@@kaptanujji Ah ok. Yes, your height will suit it well, it should be very comfortable for you
Hmmm seriously wanna buy this buy this but my mate rides a ZX10 ahhhh hard choice convince meeeee
Oh zx10, quick machines. Loved the rs660, would glady own one
can it compare to duke 890 non r
Yes. Quite a different riding position and that 890 is really good value (depending where you live). One annoying thing with the 890 is you need to pay for the tech where the 660 comes with it all
Many who own this bike have had many issues regarding the engine and electronics. My friend is having a terrible time with his bike, engine lights, stalling, not starting, dealing with the dealership and now excessive vibration ..... His is now looking for a lemon law lawyer.
That sucks for you friend, hopefully it all gets sorted out
That can happen on any bike. My RS660 was perfect until some women didnt look at the left.
@@kokaente1107 Sorry to hear about your incident. The Aprilia RS660 is perfect until they are not, and with the RS there is a lot of not compared to other bikes.
@@braverabbit I got many friends with an rs660 here in Germany and none of them had problems. Still bad for ur friend for having such a bad time with his 660.
@@kokaente1107 Looks like the dealership is going to try a make it right for my friend.
Any idea if an Öhlins TTX36 rear shock, and the Öhlins 43 mm upside down NIX30 forks work with this bike?
Not sure on the exact models, but I know there is a TON of stuff out for them now. Seems to be mostly fork internals and new rear shocks
www.af1racing.com/rs660-suspension
Have a look there to get a rough idea. I'm pretty sure YSS are doing stuff too
If you can keep it from leaking oil…it’s a good motorcycle.
Have you had issues with yours?
@@onthebackwheel
Three leaks, so far…
@@hernancortez491 damn, hopefully it gets sorted
The only thing that makes it overpriced are stupid dealer fees
Nah it's the price from Aprilia, it's more than the price of even the ride away prices of others
@onthebackwheel 10999 is what they're charging plus 500 discount before you workout a price. I think it's on par. 8k sounds better though lol.
@@Captainhairyass the Hornet 750 and Suzuki 800 have undercut them so much, makes it hard to recommend 😬
@onthebackwheel man, this sounds retarded AF but when I shop for bikes, I look at aesthetics lmao. I had the chance to buy a brand new ducati 950 in red for the same price as the Extrema I'm buying now. I didn't buy it because the Red Ducati is so lame to me. The pearl white would have been a winner on the Ducati for me. So I went with the Extrema at 12,000 brand new. The Ducati is 12700 on sale. The Ducati felt so much nicer bit I don't get that pump when I look at it. Shit, I almost bought the CfMoto 450 in white because of how it looks lol. Only reason I didn't buy that is because there were none to buy.
@@Captainhairyass I'm a sucker for looks too, nothing wrong with owning it 😂
The swing arm looks cheap. Looks awful where your feet sit. Looks like the paint is flaking off
Very detailed review video, awesome! for 600cc bike USD14750 is alot, but here in Indonesia this bike cost USD42432, damn what a true "dream" bike lol🥲
Thank you! That price is insane
Great review!
Thanks!
