My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!

I hear what you are saying and it was difficult for me to stand up in. To be fair, I am 6'4" and 350 lbs so I shouldn't be standing up in a bass boat. Also, it was blowing like crazy that day as well.

How long is set up and break down each time you use (with electronic pump) also how bad would this blow around in 10mph winds in freshwater? I really want to pull the trigger on this boat but there a basically 0 reviews out there besides this one? Can you maybe do a set up video showing how easy/hard or time consuming it is or isn’t to set up each time you want to use it? Thanks!
Hey Kevin, great question. It's about 7-10 minutes to get it out of the back and inflate it. It's incredibly difficult to speak to how much it drifts since there's so many important factors. However, given the taller sidewalls, it does drift a bit in wind. We'll see what we can do about a video!
@@tailwateroutfitters Exactly correct on all accounts. Last weekend on a whitewater river, I was paddling (kneeling with dual blade paddle), upstream as I do all the time in my kayak, to get back up to an eddy so I could paddle back into the class IV rapids. I was fine until a head wind picked up just a little. Boy could you feel it. I was still able to paddle through.
What’s the go pro attachment you have? It doesn’t come with that does it? I just ordered one

I really want to purchase this but my river has a lot of shoals with rocks and such. How do you think it would hold up if it ran over a rock?
There is always the chance of it ripping. If that is a concern I would go with a root molded kayak.

guessing you cannot keep it inflated and transport on a roof rack with typical tie downs. also curious about how it handles surf, river white caps, or light rapids.
Hi Lillith, I haven't personally tried transporting it on a rack while inflated. However, it is very rigid when inflated to the proper psi, so i would think it would be just fine. Also, it's extremely wide and stable so i bet it would do great!
Yes you can. I do it alot of the time. Wish I could post a pic. I don't install the back deck and seat on it. I put the rear of the boat to the front over my cab, one strap over behind the fins for extra grip. Then I tie the nose of it down tight at my tailgate. Travels very well. These things are hard as a solid boat when inflated. Best part is the material doesn't allow the tie straps to slip either.
How hard is the plastic? Will it hold up against all the hooks that many baits have?
It is very durable.
I have BOTE's paddleboard and that thing has stood up to a bunch of tree scrapes in the Louisiana swamps.
Realizing that you're a big guy, it appears to be "tippy" and more of a calm water kayak?? I currently have a Sea Eagle and was looking for an inflatable that would be more comfortable for longer distance (8+ mile) paddles. Glad I found your review.
Hey Ralph! Given that Dan is slightly over the weight limit, yes it was a little tippy. After a bit of getting used to it, he got his bearing and was comfortable on it as you can see in the video. However, the camera man, Jake, who is about 6' and 160lbs, was just fine on it. It is tough to beat the convenience of an inflatable!
@@tailwateroutfitters thanks for the reply. I live in California and vacation for 2 weeks in Florida. I started bringing a Sea Eagle kayak instead of renting. Sea Eagle is a great kayak, but after 4 or 5 hours of kayaking the seat really kills my butt and back! I was looking for a good alternative and looks like the Lono might be it.
@Far East Angler I replaced the stock one with a more padded seat I got off Amazon. The extra cushion is helped, plus it's slight angled up in the front giving it a slight leg lift. Let me know if you want the name of the seat and I'll see if I can find it in more orders. The Lono looks much more comfortable for all day paddling.
I have a sea eagle fast track. I comparing it to that bote, it is far superior. I wouldn't abandon your sea eagle unless you got one of the cheaper ones. I doubt you Will find a seat that is going to be comfortable for the full 8 miles+ trips you're going on.
I have a advanced element that did well for a 12 hr paddle. I prefer the sea eagle fast track design now
try putting the center fin in. It will help alot on the stability.

They make outriggers for single sculls. It really shouldn't be needed for a boat like this unless the water was really bad.
Have you compared other top rated fishing kayaks? Hard to compare stability or skill with one kayak review.
Hey Jackie, no we have not done any direct comparisons yet. However, being the only inflatable kayak out there, we think it's pretty cool and works well!
There are loads of inflatable kayaks on the market. Sea Eagle, NRS, Aero, Advanced Elements, and many others.
What I would like is a kit to make two kayaks into a catamaran that way if a buddy supposed to come with you and can't you don't have to leave the other kayak at the vehicle to be stolen also this would make it much more stable I like hobie knockoff kayak that has the drive
Also be more room for big fish 🐟 could put an ice bag on the other kayak could mount outboard motor and ice chest on the catamaran kit catamyak
Only thing I dont like about inflatable is they can pop lol. Theres a youtuber called rokkit and he was in a inflatable and a freaking sailfish .. yeah it's a freak accident but lol it would make me paranoid
That's initially where my mind went too! After seeing it up close though, its made extremely well. The military uses inflatable boats, so they must be tough enough for them. I know they don't use a Bote LONO, but they use the same material!
You couldn't be more paranoid for no reason. This technology is not new and it's not your average inflatable. When inflated these things are as hard as a solid board. Advantage is they won't break like a solid board. More solid boards break than inflatables sink. Like Tailwater Outfitters said, the military and lots of others use this type of technology/material.
if you accidentally graze some oysters, is it done, or will it hold up?
A light graze on oysters will be just fine. I wouldn't beach it up on an oyster bar though

got to say.... was hopeful, but this thing appears to be very unstable. if seat was down about 4 or 5 inches, maybe.
Hey man! I definitely agree that it would be more stable if the seat was lower. However, keep in mind that Dan is 6’5” and about 370lbs. Is it as stable as a 14’ rotomolded kayak? Probably not, but the portability is what sets the Lono apart for sure.
@@tailwateroutfitters I own one and I'm 6'3" 250 and it's as stable as any canoe I've paddled. Lately I've been taking it on white water, without the back deck and seat.. What a freaking blast. I stand like a SUP or kneel using my kayak paddle. What a BLAST.

For that price is better buy a vibe kayak and some lures an rod reel combo.😆
until a hook jabs into the darn thing and it deflates!! plus if u hook a musky....... u get the idea better stock up on patches.

Good luck with that. You really would have to try with a very sharp triple hook. When inflated, these things are hard as a rock. The last 2 PSI of inflation is very tough... so are these botes.
The first thing I thought of when that rocket rack popped off... it's going to the bottom of the lake with your fishing gear

Stability is unbelievable. REALLY is a 8. Maneuverability (without center fin in whitewater, =3, with center fin on ocean = 6. Tracking- 10+, Efficiency.. depends greatly on the water and use. PS.. I am an owner of one. Lake, whitewater, ocean, inter-coastal, creeks...
Seat to high and not stable. A guy your size needs a titan 12.5 by native water craft.
I would appreciate videos from 'actual' buyers of this Bote LONO. I'm so tired of watching guys push products on YT they would never buy themselves. These channels are full of guys given free stuff (sleepings bags, knives, torches, etc.) and trying to convince people to part with their hard-earned money. Half the crap never works or is junk quality. I'm not saying this is you. But I was left with that impression.
I hear you. Just so you know we are not given anything for free. All of these products are things we sell in our shop. The reason you don’t see us doing a video on a crappy product is because we discontinue selling it if we think it’s garbage. Hopefully you can find a video from an actual buyer.

As an Owner, you couldn't be more wrong... this thing is a beast. I'm 6'3" 250-260. I can move around on this like I would any canoe. Dan needs to work on his balance a little. And like they posted... Dan is one BIG DUDE. The taller you are, the more balance you need. Add additional top heavy weight... way more balance / surface area required. Trust me, I know this from personal experience. I tested 40 different craft this summer. I wasn't always 250 + lbs either. When I was under 200, there wasn't a craft I couldn't handle. Now days..specially at 57 yrs old... This craft is perfect. I've been having a blast on and in it. Even taken a grand kid with me on a couple of river trips.
