BEN Kenobi is an awesome character. Obi Wan from the prequels doesn't learned nothing, doesn't failed and he is just the same character. Of course, he is wonderfully played by Ewan, and he made a lot of good jokes, but as a character, Obi from the prequels isn't the best character ever
@@o...o4144 doesn't fail? his former apprentice fell to the darkside which he is partly responsible for. how is that not failing? one of his lines is literally "I have FAILED you" not to mention he couldn't save his master from being killed. He fails to defeat dooku in both episode 2 and 3 as well. he defiantly fails.
Glad we found out what happened to Maul's body ultimately. And it's also interesting because a funeral pyre I think was seen as the "honourable" way to dispose of a body according to the Jedi so Obi-Wan giving Maul that honour is telling.
Avengerr I think it’s a great judge of Obi Wan’s character at that point that he gives the same respectful burial to both his master and the one who killed him
In the end, after everything he had learned through experience and about Maul, Obi-Wan forgave him. He arrived at the conclusion that Maul was a tortured soul. That despite everything Obi-Wan had gone through, all of the pain Maul had inflicted upon him, Maul might've had it far, far worse. Treating his corpse with honor and ensuring his dying wish was fulfilled (in a way, revenge is not the Jedi way) was the right thing to do, from a certain point of view.
Theory: Obi-Wan was the hooded trader the green kyber crystal was stolen for by the tusken raider. It is the green crystal that Luke will use to make his light saber in ROTJ
Haha! Yes! My theory about Stormtrooper armor has proven true! I always figured Stormtrooper armor spread out a blaster shot across the body so that it wouldn't kill, but most blasters would still be strong enough to render that Stormtrooper unconscious. This would explain why, in Rebels, many Stormtroopers got shot by the main cast in Seasons 1&2, but it was often noted that there were "no casualties" and if you pay attention to the bodies after they get shot, they're often still moving slightly.
I love that Obi-Wan cremated Maul's body and gave him a proper funeral. It shows how deeply good of a person Obi-Wan is, that in spite of all the pain Maul had caused him from Qui-Gon to Satine, he still knew Maul was a victim of circumstance. Damn I love Obi-Wan.
Lmao at the Tusken Raider name. If you play the mobile game Galaxy of Heroes (incredible btw) one of the Tusken characters is actually named “Urrurrrurrr....” lol
ImperialistOpinions that would be pretty neat, and I don't see why they can't make that, or KOTOR canon in some way, shape ot form, especially as we nearly got Darth Revan in The Clone Wars. Tbh I want some more Jedi vs. Sith Old Republic stuff in the new canon.
A lot of these were already in legends or canon, but I like that they were in the book, because it makes those facts or points of interest more well known.
Star Wars Explained the stormtrooper armor has been shown to work in rebels. Many of the stormtroopers shot are writhing on the floor unconscious. Also when Ezra freed himself in stealth strike, he deflected a shot back at a stormtrooper. He is then shown sitting in the cell next to the two other captured stormtroopers. Rubbing his head as if he was knocked out.
My theory is that 75% of stormtroopers shot on-screen survive, or at least until they’re eaten by Ewoks or the Death Star they’re on explodes. The other 25% are those shot at point-blank range (like the one Leia hit on the Tantive IV) and those who fall down some sort of deep pit, like the one to let out a Wilhelm scream in ANH. And the ones hit by Chewie’s bowcaster, because that thing’s freaking overpowered.
I'd love to see a sequel to "From a Certain Point of View", for the 40th anniversary of Empire Strikes back, and.... maybe one for the coming 20th anniversary of The Phantom Menace? ...maybe?
I thought a canon book or encyclopedia of some kind stated that the blaster bolts were still strong enough to knock troopers out. In rebels, you can even see some stormtroopers still breathing after they’ve been shot. Makes sense since a majority of the time they’re shot, the armor seems unfazed or just has a small scorch mark. Rarely does it penetrate the armor
Well, we always thought that stormtroopers are killed, but in Rebels Season 1, Tarkin made note that whenever the Specters did anything there were no casualties. So, the armor might very well diffuse some of the punch from blasterfire unless it punches clear through and into the body.
With regards to the stormtrooper armor, that's also in S1 of Rebels, where it is mentioned to Tarkin when he arrives that none of the troopers shot by the main characters have actually died. I believe it is also brought up in Inferno Squad.
If I remember correctly, stormtrooper armor was only tough enough to protect against glancing and indirect blaster shots. Direct hits would still punch through it no problem.
I understand that they’re trying to connect as many stories as possible but the one thing I find really hard to grasp is that Yoda’s blanket was a piece of Qui-Gon’s cloak. All I can say is how?
Maybe he kept it out of guilt? The council refused to send send aid to Naboo after jinn asked for it. If they had send help maybe the clone wars and order 66 could have been avoided. Not mention he could have seen yoda as a grandson type since dooku was his former apprentice and jinns dookus apprentice. Sort of how dooku felt about obi wan.
Matthew Ruch The Motti story is ruined because the names of the other members of the high command are mostly wrong Let's not forget TK421 was having a affair with a high up officer on the Death Star who is obviously supposed to be Tarkin then theirs the force sensitive diagnoga that sees itself as a female gender while others are male or gender neutral Oh cmon lol It's not canon it can't be too many conflicting stories even in the novel lol
i theorized that the battle of scarif, was the reason the Imperial Senate was dismantled, witch makes sense that when leia was captured by vader she would attempt to lie to him by saying "I'm on a diplomatic mission for the Imperial Senate." vader already new that was a line of bs because the emperor would have informed him that Imperial Senate has been dismantled
I've got both copies (digital and Audible) and love them both. Great to find out what some of the background characters and main charaters went through during Episode IV. Hope they do one for the rest of the Saga.
When you said that storm trooper armor does not block blaster shots, go watch rebels. In some scenes where storm troopers get shot, you can see that they still move a little bit after they get shot, that shows that they usually get knocked unconscious once their shot.
In Legends, the stormtrooper that Leia killed and the stormtrooper that stunned her were clone troopers and in Canon, The stormtrooper who bangs his head became a First Order officer named Wanten and he was killed when Starkiller Base exploded and in Legends, he was yet another Clone of Jango Fett (he was also the same stormtrooper that Obi-Wan pulled a mine trick on)
You know I'm a little surprised by Tosh for not knowing who Vader is. the same with Ezra and Kanan in the season two premiere of Rebels. you think since Vader is the Emperor's right-hand man, Vader's name would be sorta kinda like household name in the Empire
The diffused blaster shots would injure and often render a soldier unconscious and/or temporarily paralyzed. This is why they go down in one hit and don't come up.
I was wondering if there's anything in Star Wars canon confirming my thought (side from info in Star Wars Super Graphic). In Rogue One, Chirrut says the strongest stars have hearts of kyber. In The Force Awakens, it appears to me that Starkiller Base turns into a star/sun when it implodes. Could it be that this can confirm it was planet Ilum? you mentioned that Obi Wan sees Luke in the future, but fail to mention he also sees Han Falling (after Kylo kills him) sees Kylo himself and Leia mourning the death of Han.

So 12 ships per squadron? for USAF it is typically 12 to 24. Interesting. I got thinking about this after seeing some background shots of Acabar in ROTJ where there were lots of rebel fighters. Made me wonder what the makeup of these groups are.
Do you plan on explaining what went down in the story about the mouse droid? I’m gonna need someone to deep dive into that because I only got 70% of that story....
man_of_impressions Stormtrooper, TK421 was in a sexual relationship with a high ranking imperial officer. The officer, who proposed the arrangement to his subordinate, was originally attracted to TK421’s stunning looks but eventually developed an emotional bond with the trooper. Initially, TK421 wasn’t quite as deeply invested in the relationship and hoped to use the officer’s influence to arrange a reassignment to a more cultured world such as Coruscant. The story is told through the eye’s of TK421’s mouse droid which runs into Chewbacca in ANH. The moments missing from the mouse droid’s memory were booty calls from the imperial officer.
+Terry While not 100% confirmed, it was indeed highly implied to be Tarkin due to his top level security clearance and his position during the destruction of Alderaan.
Any idea what happens to Hobbie between Rebels and Empire strikes back? I assumed he would have been on Yavin considering we've seen other members of Phoenix cell there
I meant pre-Hoth. We see him in in Rebels with Phoenix squad but then as far as I'm aware he doesn't appear with the Rebellion again until Hoth. But I didn't actually realise that he died there! Will have to look into that!
I'm pretty sure it's "tan-tive" iv. Not sure where "tantavive" came about, but I've heard it pronounced that way in a buncha audio books too...got me going 😬😬
If Red Squadron is half of the Yavin strike force, and there are twelve canonically known pilots in said squadron, then there's still three pilots we know nothing about. Remember, the Imperials in the film counted thirty rebel ships, so I presume that to mean there's fifteen fighters in each squadron. How come LucasFilm just gave us the first twelve? Maybe there's something I don't know about.
It might have just been because it would have been too distracting seeing 30 different people during the battle. We don't exactly need to see evry single person ever, but I'm sure there are legends sources that say who they are.

GoH is actually pretty fun, and it's one of the few outlets of old EU content, but damn does it stink of EA.
SO MANY PEOPLE have been saying that the Qui-Gon force ghost in Kenobi breaks canon but this book actually confirms that it makes perfect sense.

i still prefer the urr urr urrurrurr name

that makes me feel a bit bad for killing him so many times in LEGO Star Wars
super jedi player for the 2nd paragraph, me too a little
