Mandatory the Great is a Disney-specific creation of Star Wars and takes the place of Mandalore the Ultimate from Tales of the Jedi. If Disney ever does delve deep into the The Old Republic era (Tales of the Jedi, Knights of the Old Republic and The Old Republic) then Mandalore the Great would appear in the Great Sith War against the likes of the Jedi/Old Republic-Galactic Republic and the Sith/Sith Empire respectively.

We have seen Mandalore after the "Siege of Mandalore" in Rebels. The "Great Purge" was set up in Rebels when the clans came together under Bo Katan to resist the Empire. Hopefully they will explore the "Great Purge" more in season 2.
I loved how many things got their proper names actually said on screen in series, like the AT-ST as well. We've seen some of that in the sequel trilogy too, with Hux referring to the Falcon as a "Corellian YT model freighter".
The lava river scene seems to riff on the Greek legend of the river Styx which bars the path to the afterlife. The droid is in the role of the ferryman (who demands payment & IG11 payed the ultimate price!)
Fun fact: The incinerator trooper was first seen in legends in The Force Unleashed video game with the same red markings but was brought back into canon by The Mandalorian episode 8. I’m guessing the two other canon imperial flametrooper variants seen in Jedi: Fallen Order and the other snowtrooper looking flametroopers with maroon markings in some of the books were either used for different purposes and directives, or they are simply another variant of armor.

after my first binge watch of the show I realized something. The Armorer is Bo Katan,... the clues are there, she is the highest authority in the mandolorian hide. she knows of the jedi and mandolorian history, she is the only one of them not to go hide, the dark saber showing up is the biggest tell. Bo was the last person we see with the saber and the last seen leader of mandalore. this guy was involved with the purge and would have went after leadership so he must have got the saber from Bo. she would have escaped with her guard's and start to restore mandalore. they are going to reveal this...im thinking season 2 finale
There's a Rodian in the Bounty Hunter Guild that was apart of Enfys Nest's crew. They get disintegrated by the Mando in ep 3. Also the figure that goes back for Finik's body is wearing the Mando's boots which also make a spur sound.
It is very possible that in Empire Strikes Back, there was a concern that the carbonite that was used was for industrial purposes (Cloud City is a major of Tibanna gas used for blasters), but the Mandalorian's carbonite could have been specifically designed to hold a person in stasis unharmed.

I am surprised, as far as i have seen , no one has talked about another Japanese film inspiration for this series. I am talking about the film series that started with " Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance " ( 1972 ) which was based on a Japanese Manga series.
The beeps made from the Droid that rowed the boat in the last episode, was very familiar. They were the beeps made by the spy hired from Greivous in the clone wars series. The Droid was R3- s6, and was named "Goldie" by Ahsoka, and "Stubbie" by Anakim.
One thing I noticed rewatching the series- the droid Zero is among the bounty hunters that attacks Mando when he's attempting to escape Navarro. I had to go back and forth, but it's definitely the same getup, if not the same character.

I would like to propose one that was missed. In the bar in ep 8 Greef Karga was surprised to find out that mandalarian are of different species. He was the told "its a creed" Greef Karga is Carl Weathers, who also played "Apollo Creed" in the first couple of Rocky Movies. I believe that was intentional.
You didn't point out that the Incinerator Troopers made their first and only appearance in the video game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and that Lothcats are just a Lothal breed of Tooka, which first appeared in the Clone Wars, on places like Coruscant and Ryloth.
General Grievous' pair of IG-100 Magnaguard bodyguard Droids were also part of the same Holowan Mechanicals series as the later line of IG units that included IG-11 and IG-88.

There are currently three canon designs for the Imperial flame/incinerator trooper. The third appears in Adventures in Wild Space: The Rescue and looks even more like a snowtrooper.

Nice, man- that was fun to watch! I’m not as gigantic of a Star Wars fanatic as I was when I was a kid- (I’m still really happy that I got to see all of the original trilogy when they were first released in the theaters), but I occasionally like to geek out and watch a few hours of “new” Star Wars stuff- a lot of it honestly makes me cringe, grit my teeth, whatever- but some things are really quite good, such as Rogue One and The Mandalorian, and seeing the Easter Eggs that are included sometimes make me smile. The new movies are such a polarizing subject, and I can’t say that they’re anywhere near as good as the original 3- but those were really lightning in a bottle, and I don’t think that anything that came after them could ever capture that again. So I try to take them on their own, and not constantly compare them to the originals- but that’s a really difficult thing to accomplish. Human nature, I guess- but taken as completely separate works, they have a lot of really cool concepts, they’re visually stimulating, there are some really great things about them that just get ignored unfortunately because they’ll never be fully taken on their own merits. Ach- sorry! Didn’t intend to rant about this- just wanted to say thank you for making an enjoyable video that wasn’t all about how “new Star Wars sucks old Star Wars rules Earth”. So- thanks. i like that as a continuation of the lore. because han solo was transported by boba fett to jabba the hutt and then was an ornament in the famous crime lord, who no doubt bragged about it, the idea to freeze people in carbonite took off. lando didnt have a machine designed to freeze a person, but by the time we get to mandalorian they have got a simple set up. its a few years later. technology moves pretty fast.
I swear at this point half my brain is filled with Star Wars lore and facts and I'm literally still always confused and mess up the timelines The Star Wars universe is pretty much more elaborate than our actual world history at this stage

Scout troopers reminded me of the oldest fan film I know of, "Troops" came out in the 90's and was a star wars spoof of Cops. Did no one else think of that?
15:15 it was also mentioned in Rebels and basically confirmed it's the helmet thats the reason why they cant hit shit when (i think it was) Captain Rex pulls off the helmet and blames it for being a cheap knockoff of their old Clone helmets and then proceeds to land every shot like he normally would

15:38 It's not an RT-97C. The ANH prop was built from an MG 15 machine gun (virtually unmodified), while Cara's rifle is a Bren Gun fitted with an extra barrel and an MG 34's drum magazine. The MG 34 double drum magazine is extremely similar to the slightly older MG 15 double drum magazine, which is definitely the part you're recognizing.

Also if you look very close, when the figure crouches to Fennec's body; you can see a stamped image on the thigh amour that looks VERY similar to Mando's Mudhorn signet. You can see this same image on Mando's thigh armour in the SAME SPOT!

after my first binge watch of the show I realized something. The Armorer is Bo Katan,... the clues are there, she is the highest authority in the mandolorian hide. she knows of the jedi and mandolorian history, she is the only one of them not to go hide, the dark saber showing up is the biggest tell. Bo was the last person we see with the saber and the last seen leader of mandalore. this guy was involved with the purge and would have went after leadership so he must have got the saber from Bo. she would have escaped with her guard's and start to restore mandalore. they are going to reveal this...im thinking season 2 finale
There's a Rodian in the Bounty Hunter Guild that was apart of Enfys Nest's crew. They get disintegrated by the Mando in ep 3. Also the figure that goes back for Finik's body is wearing the Mando's boots which also make a spur sound.
When mando uses his scope in episode one they used a sound effect from the 2002 bounty hunter game on ps2

It is very possible that in Empire Strikes Back, there was a concern that the carbonite that was used was for industrial purposes (Cloud City is a major of Tibanna gas used for blasters), but the Mandalorian's carbonite could have been specifically designed to hold a person in stasis unharmed.

this series. I am talking about the film series that started with " Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance " ( 1972 ) which was based on a Japanese Manga series.

The beeps made from the Droid that rowed the boat in the last episode, was very familiar. They were the beeps made by the spy hired from Greivous in the clone wars series. The Droid was R3- s6, and was named "Goldie" by Ahsoka, and "Stubbie" by Anakim.

And in episode 5 before the Spurs sounds you can hear the same beeping from A NEW HOPE special edition when we see boba Fett on screen.
One thing I noticed rewatching the series- the droid Zero is among the bounty hunters that attacks Mando when he's attempting to escape Navarro. I had to go back and forth, but it's definitely the same getup, if not the same character.

4:18 the reason Vader tells Boba Fett "no disintegration" is because those weapons we're outlawed in the galaxy due to them being deemed too cruel. While to the observer the victim vaporizes in an instant, to the victim the process is excruciatingly painful and long.
The tale of the background prop is by far the funniest.
I would like to propose one that was missed. In the bar in ep 8 Greef Karga was surprised to find out that mandalarian are of different species. He was the told "its a creed"
Greef Karga is Carl Weathers, who also played "Apollo Creed" in the first couple of Rocky Movies. I believe that was intentional.
You didn't point out that the Incinerator Troopers made their first and only appearance in the video game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and that Lothcats are just a Lothal breed of Tooka, which first appeared in the Clone Wars, on places like Coruscant and Ryloth.
General Grievous' pair of IG-100 Magnaguard bodyguard Droids were also part of the same Holowan Mechanicals series as the later line of IG units that included IG-11 and IG-88.

17:21 this bugged me a lot because the Flame Trooper design is way different in Jedi Fallen Order, with a more Snow Trooper like look, but if this an Incinerator Trooper than I'm fine
There are currently three canon designs for the Imperial flame/incinerator trooper. The third appears in Adventures in Wild Space: The Rescue and looks even more like a snowtrooper.

Nice, man- that was fun to watch! I’m not as gigantic of a Star Wars fanatic as I was when I was a kid- (I’m still really happy that I got to see all of the original trilogy when they were first released in the theaters), but I occasionally like to geek out and watch a few hours of “new” Star Wars stuff- a lot of it honestly makes me cringe, grit my teeth, whatever- but some things are really quite good, such as Rogue One and The Mandalorian, and seeing the Easter Eggs that are included sometimes make me smile. The new movies are such a polarizing subject, and I can’t say that they’re anywhere near as good as the original 3- but those were really lightning in a bottle, and I don’t think that anything that came after them could ever capture that again. So I try to take them on their own, and not constantly compare them to the originals- but that’s a really difficult thing to accomplish. Human nature, I guess- but taken as completely separate works, they have a lot of really cool concepts, they’re visually stimulating, there are some really great things about them that just get ignored unfortunately because they’ll never be fully taken on their own merits. Ach- sorry! Didn’t intend to rant about this- just wanted to say thank you for making an enjoyable video that wasn’t all about how “new Star Wars sucks old Star Wars rules Earth”. So- thanks. I appreciate your videos, mate!

i like that as a continuation of the lore. because han solo was transported by boba fett to jabba the hutt and then was an ornament in the famous crime lord, who no doubt bragged about it, the idea to freeze people in carbonite took off. lando didnt have a machine designed to freeze a person, but by the time we get to mandalorian they have got a simple set up. its a few years later. technology moves pretty fast.
