Coal is dead now though. They turned off the last coal plant. Which was stupid, they should have kept it running until they had a new plant operational.
And the oil wells never run dry...they refill naturally however we will never be told that either. There are mountain ranges of coal in Antarctica, Admiral Byrd told the world that. I'm in the US but... Was at home maybe a year ago working on something (thankfully physical not on the computer) when suddenly the power went out - odd since it was nice weather for days (I'm used to an occasional outage in a storm or high winds)... Then I heard a thump at the side of the house +where the meter is) and the power was back. Went out later to discover they'd changed my meter out for a new digital/"smart" meter. I had the year before decided to enroll in the automatic billing (instead of having to manually pay every month), apparently one of the terms I failed to read all of is they can upgrade your meter without asking (or, well, technically signing up for the auto-pay was your agreement).

Because they had to wash, feed themselves, heat there babies bottles, keep themselves warm, and so much more. Then as years went bye I realised having dealt with the electrical supply companies that they not only are overpaid and underworked never mind their pensions, they didn't give a damn about cutting the power from a person with children or a pensioner. However when it came to a commercial business or industrial, they'd let that slide, but the granny on a meagre pension had to pay or get cut off. A lot of people are watching Strictly and Love Island, clapping along like seals without a thought between them. Britain has been systematically demoralised over the past 20 years.
Not just power rationing, the government are paying farmers not to grow food , they are being payed to let fields go to fallow or to grow wild bird mix . Yet we are relying on imports from mainland Europe and the US , the way the world is at the moment its ridiculous, we have the most productive farmland but the government does not want us to grow our own food. A good TH-cam channel to watch is Harry’s farm he can explain it far better than I can , keep these vids coming Katie ❤ .
I’ve spoken to several farmers who have confirmed they are going to be paid to not grow food, and to leave fields to rewild. This starts in 2025. Start stockpiling none perishable foods and seeds if you have a garden space or even window boxes to grow food.
True, but who's demented agenda is this ?.. and why are our globalist-Marxist government pushing it so hard ?.. especially given that it is of absolutely no benefit whatsoever to the UK or it's citizens.. This country contributes less than 2% of global CO2 output, if it disappeared tomorrow, we all died and UK carbon output fell to zero immediately, the reduction in global CO2 output would be so insignificant that it would be nigh-on impossible to measure.. This means their justification for the destruction of our society and the government drive to force the UK back into a literal 'New Dark Age' (the reality of 'Net-Zero') is FAKE and nothing to do with any 'climate-catastrophe'.. Britain is being wilfully wiped out for no reason..

Your car needs a minimum of 1300w to even wake up and 1500 to start charging and in that rate it will take far to long. A generator perhaps but that is better used as a primary source of power.
There is no Far Right - it's just a slur the left use for normal people. There are just far left Marxists who want to burn it all down and implement their Communist utopia (thinking they can all be poets and crystal merchants and other poeple will work to feed them somehow) and the rest of the population who are normal and live in the real world who don't want it all burned down and the inevitable mass death/starvation that will follow.
There is nothing wrong with people who have genuine concerns about the imported state of British society who are constantly labeled Far Right. From what I can see and most people choose to ignore it, is that the most dangerous and very real threat to the UK and its rightful citizens and in particular the white population, is the far left.
And prey tell why someone far right can't support or agree with Katie. Or is it you have been brainwashed by the media about us, but you've never sat down and talked to someone far right like me.
Last month I was without mains electricity for 3 weeks because I refused to have a SMART device meter installed in my home. I managed by running my generator in my workshop plugging into the house circuit and everything worked as normal. At the same time I kept a led acid battery bank charged up so I wouldn't have to run the generator all the time. Worked perfectly.
Bless you Katie. Seriously. Ive a friend in South Africa, who owns a house, car, works 9 to 5pm and every afternoon and evening the electricity goes off. It's coming to the UK. And I've not heard anyone but you speak about this. ❤
That was called "Load Shedding", a nice euphemism! Even the name illustrates the lying mentality of the deceiving and corrupt government here! That began in 2008 and has gone on ever since until recently, on a published schedule with periods of up to 4 hours of load shedding at a time and possibly several times per day! However we have not had that regular power cutting for several months now, and that is partially - perhaps significantly - due to the fact that the monopoly utility called Eskom has been able to keep up with demand by people going fully or partly "off-grid" with solar for domestic and even industrial power supply. The number of houses and factories with large quantities of solar panels is extraordinary to see. That of course is far from cheap to install, and those with lesser means (the majority) cannot take advantage of that! The ludicrous thing is that this of course has resulted in a fall in demand for Eskom's product, electricity, and now, shock, horror, they want to increase the price by 36% since profits have fallen! Bottom line? Katie is right, become a "prepper" like I did. Change to LPG for cooking and heating, buy several rechargeable lanterns (candles are not much use really), a couple of rechargeable flashlights, a powerbank for the phone and so on. You could not this shit up, but hey as they say TIA (This Is Africa)!

It's only when there's a power or water outage you really understand how much we're reliant on the state, and it's frightening, especially with the state of government right now.
Agree, and it will end up being about survival literally. How many ppl know how to build a cabin, to hunt, or make a fire? Might sound daft now but humans used to know how to keep their own.

Yes, I was with Ebico, no standing charge .... Robin hood energy owned by that labour leaders brother bought Ebico out and sold it to British gas 6 months later. Then along came the standing charge. All planned along with all the smaller gas providers going bust .
Smart meters are the new ration books. About 14 year ago I spoke with a guy who was an energy adviser to the government, he told Mr back then " soon you will be hearing about something called a smart meter and it will be sold to you as an energy saving device, well this device will be able to cut off your electricity supply when you hit your monthly quoter". That was 14 yr ago and he was right.
Omg I put my heating on for an afternoon I watched my smart metre going up and up it was so scary I turned it off and haven’t used it again I have solar panels too!!!!
@sionsdadpetrol7032 Yeah, that won't happen. That's just scaremongering. It's not in the interests of power companies to turn off your electricity at any point, because while you have electricity, you're paying for it. How much money would the electricity companies make if they turned it off then? It's in their own interests to keep giving you power twenty-four hours a day, that's how they make their profits. Use some logic and common sense.
Last year in Queensland Australia homes with smart metres had their air conditioners turned down to economy mode for periods of time each day, without the homeowners being told. The energy company later admitted they did this more than 40000times during the summer. No doubt there is worse to come. Don't get a smart metre.

I converted all the lighting in my house to run on 12 volts, which is powered by a couple of large car batteries under the stairs, which are being constantly trickle-charged by the mains. I can also run USB chargers off this battery setup. If the power goes out, it should keep the lights on for a few days. The log burner will keep the house warm and heat a saucepan or two at a push. If that makes me a mad prepper then so be it.
Thing is it's all about circumventing the 'Agenda'. Is this really how we want to spend the rest of our lives, playing some sort of game of cat and mouse with the authorities?.
A couple of solar panels would charge a 12v batter quite nicely. A diesel generator in the garage attached to the mains as a backup and you are golden.
You're not wrong. Every mature tree we have in the UK absorbs up to 25kg of CO2 every year. They've been busily felling trees all over the place to make way for wind turbines and solar panels - 15 million felled in Scotland alone. That's 375,000,000 kg of CO2 that won't get naturally absorbed each year. I'm still trying to find out how many millions of trees have been felled in England and Wales but I imagine it's a huge number.
Roughly this year 55% of my gas and electricity bill was for the energy itself and 45% for the daily charges by these parasitic energy brokers who jokingly call themselves energy suppliers ffs.
And that is the real issue here. These companies have to buy energy from the markets. If the people of the UK still owned energy generation facilities and the network, like in france, then we would be facing 4% rises in energy bills, like the French. Instead EDF build and run our power stations and supply our power. And who is responsible for all of this ? The tories who sold if all off for a quick buck !
Yea utility companies do no exploration of building. Just middle city men imposing taxes and profit for them. That is why they put all the increased cost on to the standing charge.
Yeah, we need to get like that here. Form groups, resist, protest, have our own media channels. Britain (stick in the mud land) can be very status quo. Even (especially) our hallowed institutions Government, Law, Post Office, Transport, NHS are all going the way being controlled out of our hands so we cann't afford them any more or have recourse to complaining about how there is less and less freedom. Big machines very good for frequency and voltage stability, who knows what a spinning reserve is now? I saw M Thatchers "dash for gas" to run down the demand for coal, gas turbine stations running on natural gas had a design life of 25 years by which time the gas would have run out, then what was the plan? UK Electricity Prices Highest in the World
New data from the Government shows the UK has the highest industrial and domestic electricity prices of the 28 countries tracked by the IEA.
Because it’s set by the price of gas. We need to decouple this.
You're wrong Ireland has the highest prices
What with managing an increasingly woke labour force, high operating costs, poor transport, high taxation, I find it amazing anyone wants to start a business or employ in the UK.
I stopped paying when they doubled the price in April 22. Electricity companies are brokers. The government pay for energy through the national grid.
But we have the world’s largest offshore wind farm. Doesn’t add up does it.

True, but who's demented agenda is this ?.. and why are our globalist-Marxist government pushing it so hard ?.. especially given that it is of absolutely no benefit whatsoever to the UK or it's citizens.. There is no Far Right - it's just a slur the left use for normal people. There is nothing wrong with people who have genuine concerns about the imported state of British society who are constantly labeled Far Right.
Not for the first time , I remember it in the 70's as kids we used to think it was a game , if it wasn't power cuts it was sugar shortages ...
Yes they have load shedding in South Africa. The electric is shut off in certain areas and then the electric is sold abroad.

@@owenorders5202 Finally, someone in these comments talking some sense.
Last year in Queensland Australia homes with smart metres had their air conditioners turned down to economy mode for periods of time each day, without the homeowners being told. I've already had a leaflet through the door about what to do in the forth coming power cuts. I live in Scotland where a lot of our energy already comes from wind (of one sort or another)..... Britain is definitely a basket case now. But hey, those coming to us fleeing war torn countries will have warm hotel rooms...how lovely
Except, they are NOT refugees! I regard them as 'space invaders,' of our space.
I’m in Scotland too and also received this 😮
Most of scotland have been getting them over the last 2 yrs, it's standard & the list is laughable.
Thank you for your excellent reporting. You are right on target.

Bring back the central electricity generating board!!
We generated power at the Cheapest price and maintained the stability of the network
... until the unions decide to start striking.
If the mandate had been changed to include CHP then fossil fuels would be even more "effecient". The CEGB were good at their job and very inovative. Pulverised fuel and flue gas desuphurisation for 2 things and well as 500/600MW sets hydrogen cooled. Big machines very good for frequency and voltage stability, who knows what a spinning reserve is now?
I saw M Thatchers "dash for gas" to run down the demand for coal, gas turbine stations running on natural gas had a design life of 25 years by which time the gas would have run out, then what was the plan? Large coal fired power stations burning coal very efficiently leaving natural gas for light industry and domestic use, domestic coal was hard work. We were geared up for burning coal for electricity generation , trains running constantly from the pits to the power stations moving coal.

It's frightening what is happening to us all here in UK, Katie.
Stand up to their bullshit or swing the white flag.
I recently went through a huge electrical power outage (affected 90-odd thousand people). Nothing worked. No heat, no phone signals, no WiFi, no lights (including streetlights). Everything failed, no communication could be made between people). There was no back up of options of coal, wood or gas fire for heating, etc etc.
Luckily, I had a rechargable desk lanp working, phone charged, 2 phone charger packs (full), torch, candles. But still no heat nor any form of electronic communication between family or friends. Couldn't even report the fault because you have to call a number or go online to report it (when theres no power for signals).
Did we get a rebate for this massive power outage? Did we hell as like!
This maybe the only disaster that wake up young people if they don’t have power for their internet/phones, etc. Maybe the illegal immigrants will get fed up and leave.
My heart is already breaking for UK especially for the elderly. Why isn’t there a larger hue and outcry over this or is it being suppressed? Thank you for you Katie!!!
They for some reason don't believe its happening. Some actually don't want to know. The young are terrible.
Electric vehicles should be an option, not a requirement. There is no point investing in renewables if they can't sustain the current grid.
Destruction is what the elite want.
EV are an option. No one forces you to buy one.
PV cells, and a plug in hybrid, you can run your house off your car if you are doing short trips.
Lithium batteries and child slave labour, they should be banned.
Environmentally a nightmare also. Seen those lithium mines/processing centres? Or the billions rotting their way through landfill?
You are absolutely correct Katie. Intelligent woman. Hope people listen.
The timbre of your voice, it’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
The reason I refused to have a smart meter installed
Eventually you'll be faced with a choice. A smart meter, or no supply.
We were blackmailed into having one to get a better tariff, they text emailed and phoned us, I told them it was harassment , but wouldn’t give us a better deal.
@@Brian-om2hhA very scary prospect, but you are 100% correct.
I have never had smart meter, so the latest wheeze is to make me pay my bill every month and keep demanding new meter readings. I have complained, but the official response is that "it's the new policy." Unofficially, the guy I spoke to told me that all the customers were complaining. So much for customer service. I can see exactly why they are doing it. Death by a thousand cuts.
I also refused.. given the safety issues (some catch fire), possible remote shutoff, and because “It’s New & Super-Amazing!” propaganda doesn’t inspire me. We pay a small monthly fee for being refusers. I presume mandatory SMRT Meeters in the years ahead.
I am already being overcharged by British Gas for my electricity because I choose not to pay by direct debit!

@@KevandPerry2 No food!
Co2 levels are lower now than any time in earths history the very existence of plant life on the planet is in the balance, releasing Co2 trapped in fossil fuel is nessesary.
Yes absolutely correct depopulation for sure
We have to manufacture CO2 to put it in soft drinks and beer, animals are gassed in it before slaughter, every packaged food that you buy from meat to bread is packed in CO2 to extend the use by date. Green houses generate CO2 using electricity to make the plants grow better. We generate and use CO2 in huge amounts because our society needs it and there was a shortage during the covid panic yet the U.K. government is going to spend £22 billion of our money to give to their rich friends to ‘capture’ carbon and store it underground. Why? 😳
Rationing was always there, it is just done through pricing things out of peoples reach.

Katie, your insight is eye-opening and your advice is relavent. Living in a rural area with occasional unplanned power interruptions I have learned to plan ahead for such events. I am on a well, therefore no power, no running water or flushing. My country has already decided to push ahead with depending less on fossel fuels. I have received grants to switch from oil to electric heat. In the meantime, when needed, my gas-powered generator, used at several hour intervals, uses gasoline and in time even that will eventually be banned. In the meantime, I have a furnace as my back-up heat source dependent on the generator to power the, furnace, the water pump, lights, freezers and microwave. Having been born near the end of 1945 I have enjoyed the freedom and benefits of the post-war economy. It is the future of my adult children and 5 grandchildren that concerns me the most. 🇨🇦
