In my humble opinion, I think music would be distracting. I enjoy the way you do things as it is. This is only my opinion Titus, I enjoy whatever you chose to do of course. Without music the viewer feels as though they are in the studio with you. at least for me anyway.

'Beauty is not in the spot, it's not the site, it's in the moment.' That really struck me.

Hi Titus. I hope your well & life is spoiling you. I truely believe the job and power of an artist is having the vision & ability to construct an aesthetic that simply doesn't exist in time - place and space YET ! is sensed - envisioned and thus created by the artist for the purpose of sensory enlightenment. I also believe that communication is the driving force of any artist - which is a primal and evolutionary necessity. Best wishes & happy Painting 🙏

Another fascinating video. Much appreciated, especially the evocation of time and the present moment in your cutaways to the view out of the window, etc.

Being lost in the moment as I sit in a place, and I paint the play of light through trees or in a landscape is I find exhilarating. Painting in watercolours demands this short and intense period of concentration, when you channel all your past experience of painting into that current picture. Its best not to think to hard about it, just remain focused and in the moment and it will find you. Hard to explain but I know you understand what Im trying to say. Another wonderfully insightful film, thank you for posting.

The home turned out very beautiful and I really love how cheery it is. As far as favorites of the other two I do believe that I prefer the one from the side because of the unique lighting and the layers are really smooth yet distinct adding beauty to the next but both are lovely. Working out your talk with the audience will go very well. With so many kind receptive listeners and sharing artist’s thought processes or views will be very exciting and percussionists know what to do. Light background music is a good idea with maybe a light pianist or guitarist gives everyone a little break, I played piano and loved to sit in and lightly play during dinner and it keeps the discussion moving. Enjoy your week also and the good weather. Thank you for sharing your videos.😊

Thank you Titus. I am relatively new to your site and this time you have solicited a comment from me. I found not just the painting, but the commentary very moving, poignant in a sense, I was impressed with your youthful experience and how you attempted to recreate the image now only in your mind, but at a distance which you could not quite close. I somehow feel that we all have that experience behind us, growing younger as we age, but just out of reach.
Thank you for your thoughts and your art.

    Thanks for the interesting question!
I like the picture looking at the whole place better because it's bigger, more concrete and shows the building. It has a lot of detailed substance to look close at. The other one is just a picture of some trees with a cheap light effect and a random facade in the background. I wouldn't look at it closely or study it but hang it somewhere to have a mood for the room. I would only look in the general direction of the painting to see it but not studying it. So one painting is intellectual and the other one emotional. I'm more interested in content than feelings when hanging pictures.

Just curious, why do people want their houses painted? I guess, here in America, we move from place to place with no historical or familial attachment to the actual building. I love your work. You have become my muse as I paint cowboys and cattle in open ranges or portraits from live models. Thank you Titus!

if you want tobe the greatest Artist ,

times like Monet and the Vincent did that

Titus, your videos are always thoughtful, peaceful, informative, calm and exciting to watch. I, personally, love the music that you choose to have playing in the background at times...your warmth and sharing of your thoughts and techniques make me feel as though I am sitting in your studio with you. How refreshing and delightful to be invited into your painting world! We are 'friends' from across the seas. How very nice.
I do have a question. When you are finished with your watercolor washes and begin adding shadow and touches of white and color to the buildings, especially, are you using gouache at times? I'm just curious. It's lovely and defining.
Looking forward to hearing about your podcast ideas, music, and more work to appreciate, learn from, and enjoy. Your little house portrait is so very nice! I'm sure that your client will be very pleased! Watching you share your value studies with your client was a wonderful addition. Thank you, thank you!! I loved the shots of the dog, cookies, client and sharing of your work! All the best, Titus!! I'll keep looking forward to your next sharing. You have become my valuable mentor without your being aware.

Hi Dodi, thank you for the comment. The moment to put the next washes or layer is not fixed. By daily painting you feel what the paint and water will do, and you play with that. Fortunately it is wtill a surprise how it will work out

30:34. If you mean that the varnish doesn't stick then I would say it's from touching. When that happens I use a bit of 70% alcohol to clean that area and then the varnish will stay put. Otherwise...a second layer of varnish?

Your words about beautiful not being found in a place or a particular spot but rather beauty is found in the moment. 🤜💥🤛. True in our art and in our daily lives. I found deep meaning in those words, for my way of thinking about art but also as important, maybe more, in daily life.🫶🙏🏼
