I have cerebral palsy, but don't have a speech impediment. You're 100% correct that no two cases of cerebral palsy are the same. I've had both physical and occupational therapy when I was in elementary school and when I was a very little kid. The only reason why I've had speech therapy was because of the fact that someone felt that I wasn't acquiring vocabulary at the rate that I should be. I was also taught some sign language, but I barely remember any of it. I have no issues with listening to how you speak, in fact I can understand your speech pretty well. The form of cerebral palsy I have is spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy. I also have ADHD. Charisse, one day it would be amazing to get to know you. I am from Phoenix Arizona.
Wow! Haven't see videos that far back yet. You've definitely proven the speech therapist wrong. Anyone who puts their mind to it can do almost anything! This was a beautiful video, as usual, and it's great to see that you are so vibrant in everything you do! Keep up the awesome work. I hope you'll be doing a Q & A again!
Great video we got those questions all the time about Sasha's CP! Just like you said no two people with CP are exactly alike and they think everyone should have the same issues so far from the truth.
I have a speech impediment in the form of a severe stutter. It's really difficult going through life not being able to speak normally, but as they say, life's challenges make you stronger. All the best, Charisse!
Your not alone in had speech impediment my whole life still do fuck people who make fun of you for it your not alone iv had it for 17 years and I'm now 18 tbh your beautiful stay strong and meditate that helps get your emotions out everything will work out in the future
I have/had a huge speech impediment but just like you I heard no difference in my voice then other people's voice so I would get extremely frustrated when people would not understand me! I had a hard time with sh,ch,th,Wh,r,s really and everything you can think of I had a harder time saying! In dyslexic so with that I and my speech impediment I was out of my class room for 3ish hrs a day working on that!
It wasn't severe and I eventually overcame it but I had a bit of a speech problem as a kid, I couldn't say my L's to save my life XD Awesome video Charisee! Remember that You're a beautiful child of God!
Great video l!❤👀😍😍😙 All you have to be more brave. This is very useful and surpotive to me. I do struggles with this as well. This got be so interested to see people with speech disorders can overcome it.You gave me new and useful tips on how to deal with it. I love this keep what you doing ❤❤❤😍😍😍😍
I think everyone speaks differently... with their own sounds and rhythm. When I first started watching your videos (a year ago?), I read the subtitles. Now I don't need the subtitles. I became accustom to your speech style and have little problem understanding you now. I once met an English guy from London who had such a thick Cockney accent, I literally could not understand a word he said! He did not have a speech impediment, just an accent I was unaccustomed to. Sometimes I go to an Indian restaurant with friends and my friends cannot understand what the waiter is saying, even though he's speaking English. I spent 5 weeks in India when I was younger and became accustom to the Indian accent and rhythm, so I have no problem understanding him. Sometimes I have to 'translate.' Ha!
thanks for posting this video. you put words to a lot of my thoughts and feelings in a way. I have had like ℅90 of those experience. also in like around 9th grade not only did I not want to talk much but I would avoid walking more than I need to at school cause I thought I looked funny. kids would like mock me sometime. I get what your saying that you Don't hear that you sound different. it makes it hard at work meeting cause I wondered if I sound stupid and If they are listening to what I'm trying to say. there are some videos of me on my channel if you want to hear my voice. one thing you said to about doing public speaking is cool because I have done some work for amerisorce that helps ppl with disabilities find employment opportunities and they have sent me across the country speaking at conferences so it's odd that the the same thing that Was one thing I would get so upset about as a kid is now what I get paid for😁 God is good!!
I have cerebral palsy I have problems with my voice as this young girl does. as a kid I didn't like my voice because people where ask me . Why do you talk like that? did your mom drop you or something? I always dislike my voice till the date.
