I miss Johnny, he was so funny. Even as a kid I got his humor and loved watching him. And then there's Daryl, one of the most amazing singers of all time😍
I came across out of touch on instagram today & i got goosebumps, cried and felt like i heard it hundreds of times. I was born in 1984 and my mom listened to it all the time while she was pregnant with me.
Johnny was so good with them...….So funny He probably didnt know their music...but it didn't show He got great answers out of them and they were so casual....on live TV. Very clever This is a great interview
I thought it was funny how Daryl was trying to tell John where to sit, when they first came out onto the set. I find it quite nice that they can be real with themselves, that it's just so funny & cool. They both look hot in their cool cowboy boots, since they just don't wear any old type either. Daryl looks hot as always, that he makes me wanna say Ooh YEAH!!!!!!!!
Daryl's hands have always intrigued me. He's definitely got a pianists fingers and a guitarist hands. It's a musician thing I guess. I've always paid attention to musicians hands.... I took piano lessons about the time I started school and was in jazz ensemble by the time I was a senior in high school. Yeah, us music kids are weird 😬☺️😆☮✌🏼️☯
Long fingers for the size of his hands...I always wondered if Arsenio Hall might have played an instrument. My dad noticed the length of his fingers b4 me...I guess there are many piano geeks in the world!
They were supposed to sit in opposite chairs @00:17. The lower seat for for Daryl and the taller couch for John.(With 6’3” Ed McMahon away from the shot completely, not to dwarf Oates.) It would’ve balanced the two music stars height a little better. As they were sitting down, Daryl slouched down with his head nodded low to help hide the height difference. Great dudes, talented artists!
In the 60's and 70's, Johnny wouldn't get anywhere near rock 'n roll, but in the 80's he tried to become more "hip" and started booking acts like Z.Z. Top, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Cyndi Lauper, Laura Branagan and Hall & Oates.
imperor76 Oates was born in New York, raised in Philly. Daryl was born and raised in philly. They were having a conversation with someone from Japan, He was telling that person (we're from New York ) because that's where they were living. love them
hahaha! these guys have real east coast accents! no wonder they had so much soul, they were blue-collar. too bad california lost this part of the culture.
Those were the good old day's NBC led the late night talk show realm but the 2 or other networks wanted to get in the act off & on through the 80's the 90's anyone remember rick dees "into the night" on abc and pat sajak's talk show and a short lived chevy chase talk show all came on at night and arsenio hall had a good thing going with his show on fox that lasted from 1988/1995
I might get into trouble here ...... does anyone else get the impression that Johnny is a bit out of his depth here ? I mean, trying to be cool with 2 guys who pretty much defined the word “cool” then and for a good time before this was filmed. I wanted to say more, but will shut up for the time being. ...😑😑😑
i was in the restroom back stage as a stage hand in phila in 85 John Oats was in there and wee u pee u it stunk he must have ate lbs of sugar pees cause pee u her stunk and torlet was loaded to the rim
Daryl's so sweet...Giving John the seat next to Johnny.....I just love these guys😍

Lawddd!!! Hall and Oates! Daryl is too fineeee
What is cut out here is when sitting next to Arsenio & Daryl, John cracks the line saying " Now its Hall, HALL and Oates " I damn near died laughing
That's a great line! Wish they'd kept it in!
My Favorite Singers even though i was born 12 years later
this is me, watching a video of 13 years ago, feeling emotional with two guys who are now 4 times older than me. wow:0
I dig John and Daryl here but Johnny shows that he could talk to anyone. He's respectful here

Hall and Oats are from Philadelphia right?
candoit Yes, they are from Philly. I can't explain this momentary lapse of reason.
candoit Yep.
no they are not, John is from North Wales and Daryl is from Pottstown
Russell J Catania Jr. Which are both subburbs of Philadelphia. So they might as well be from Philly.
No jonny boy, we hate that our fans love us!
UNDERRATED
Hall & Oats & Carson. 😊
Hall of fame newest member I hope!

Interesting way that Johnny pronounced dinosaurs. 🤔
They're from New York!? Why did Oates say that?
His mustache didn't like Philly. Either that or cocaine.
imperor76 Oates was born in New York, raised in Philly. Daryl was born and raised in philly. They were having a conversation with someone from Japan, He was telling that person (we're from New York ) because that's where they were living. love them
