Hall and Oates are criminally underrated nowadays.
I was educating a few young uns' last night!
They are phenomenally lasting and timeless; look at how many times they've been sampled alone ⁉️😏
Soundtrack to halcien days, great to relive and live the good times.
Keep on rockin' in a free world..... Ringo is!
This is true
Yes , such an underrated duo who have sold more than 200 million records eh! 🙄🥱
You got the REASON 100%
Not in my household they aren't
Daryl Halls hair, a work of art.
All he did was let it grow out. Guess just letting your hair grow out that long will make it a work of art, without doing anything to it.
P.S. I could be wrong, he may have done something to his hair
Andrew Lynn. Yours HAD to be the first comment!
Andrew Lynn I STRONGELY AGREE...
Of Hair Spray...
It’s a mane-eater!
This masterpiece of a song will never get old.
still one of the best LiveAid performances... just classic '80s..
Those mullets are BEYOND legendary.
I am committed to building a time machine and travelling back to the 80s. I was 6 years old when this came out in 1982. Danced to in then and still dancing to it in 2023.
as you should be! i'm 16 soon enough, only discovered this song recently and fell in love with it!
@@elyseobrien8646 I am envious that you are that young, that means there is a lot of fantastic music from the 80s you are still to discover. I remember from the age of 11 how envious my parents would be(due to my enthusiastic reactions) when they made me listen to The Beatles, Abba, Rolling Stones, Isaac Hayes, Simon & Garfunkel, Boney M & Motown classics. We have debates even now with them about the best period for music, i say the 80s they say 60s.
I have a flux capacitor that you might be able to use, assuming you can get some plutonium-239 for it without causing a ruckus. It will work in any vehicle with sufficient horsepower and space for it, but unless it's mounted in one comprised solely of stainless steel the plasma will only travel in one direction, meaning you can only go either forward or backward in time and not return.
The charisma of that guitar player is insane. The dude knows he's killing it!
G.E. is confident to the max, he played with basically everyone
You have another settlement that needs your help!
I am 17 years old, and I adore these singers, I met them thanks to my father
Live Aid 1985. I watched the whole performances in both London and Philadelphia. You know, for me, the greatest live shows ever!! Bar none!
This is the greatest live performance I've ever seen, from an era when gigs actually meant something to people and weren't an excuse to tell everyone how fucking cool they are.
What I would give to have been there.
What a band. Tommy T Bone Walk , Charlie De Chant, GE Smith and the Philly Boys Hall and Oates. Incredible performance!!
You are forgetting the one and only Mickey Curry on Drums. The pulse of the band.
Wasn’t that Eddie money on sax? Looked like him
@@gvalley8 nope. The one and only Charlie 'Mr Casual' De Chant. And still plays sax for Daryl and John today. I was (and still am) a huge fan of Hall & Oates (I was in my late 20s in 1985). I know Charlie (and GE and Mickey and T-Bone) when I see them. They were utterly brilliant together.
Never a big fan of GE Smith. Lots of tricks and shortcuts.
Trying to figure out why they sounded like a rock band then and like an easy listening band in the past 25 years. What changed instrumentally?
The transition from vocals into the sax and guitares solos is incredible
two of the greatest SONGWRITERS the music industry has ever produced...and untouchable when it comes to their crediblity. That dont have anything to prove, and their induction into the Rock 'N Roll HoF, was longgggg overdue. One of my favorite acts.
I swear, Daryl Hall & Bono had the most epic mullets ever🔥
This is hands down Daryls best hair style
Swayze has entered the chat.
If only current artists can perform like this and play instruments at the same time. That's how good 80s performances were total kick arse.
Hayden Wittig xxxtentacion was good with instruments
this seems like a really lackluster performance by them
explore the indie genre you’ll be happy
@@eforme_z6012You cant be from the 80s dude with that comment.
@@haydenwittig8877 he was clearly drunk or high,
he had much better performances from the 80s than this
Seems like was yesterday all this, my heroes Hall & Oates...
1st of all , they are a duo, second of all they never played rock and roll...please see a doctor and get yourself checked out ...thank you
blue eyed soul, pop/rock
@@abelesser69 Rock 'n' roll, pop rock, blue eyed soul. Who gives a shit? You apparently. Dickhead.
During hall and oates time ,there was no internet so we could not express our love for their songs like today. Time really flies.
A young Daryl Hall and John Oates . Daryl is now 76 and seems to be happy unattached. He now seems to have his life really together. They are both so talented. I wish them the best .
Insane how talented these guys were.
a band with energy, this is music.
Energy from cocaine. Music fueled by drugs.
This is keyboards(button presses) and a pop melody.
@@chocomanger6873 lies. This is how he was naturally, he's spoken about it many times
@@chocomanger6873 he's spoken a lot about it. He says he was clear, obviously we don't really know but i decide to believe it xd
Saw Hall & Oates and their awesome talented musicians 1982 in Peoria. Illinois. The energy, sensual scores were incredible. T Bone rocked a saxophone like no other. Thanks for your music. Still listening today, still a ❤❤ them!
HEROES OF THE 80s
80s NEVER EVER DIES
Hall & Oates...............What can you say...A longer set maybe? Love love love love love this band; 80s icons and still the most successful duo in music history. Check out their Liberty Island concert (NYC) from a week before Live Aid...Brilliant show!
I actually watched that on TV at the time in 1985. And have watched it on TH-cam since. Still my all time favourite concert. Every one of them completely on point and Daryl was mesmerising! Saw them twice when they came to the UK in the 90s. Fantastic.
Hall & Oates give it their all no matter what decade it is. They are true performers and musicians with natural talent that they honed into a fine craft. 💘
They did a lot of stimulants lol still a great band and good performers
The home performers for this concert.
Going to see Daryl in London this weekend… praying he will play this amazing piece of pop history that makes you move no matter what!!!
Rest In Peace, the great T-Bone Wolk on bass
Great music and dodgy fashion. They’ll never be an 80s again. Love it.
Saw this in real time.
Still blows me away, beyond
the 🌎🌏🌐🌍 world's focus.
So good, meeting the moment.

Tom TBone Wolk & Charlie DeChant & G.E Smith = AWESOMENESS.
Saludos desde Colombia 🇨🇴
Así es bro.saludo desde Panamá hermanito 🇨🇴❤🇵🇦
I can't decide if Daryl's hair or John's pants are the greatest thing about this video.
Are we just ignoring Charles’s suit
Viva por siempre los adorables 80tas!!! 🥰🎵🥂💐🤗😭😭😭😭😭🇵🇪
GE Smith's licks here are incredible.
I just love this! Oh man it's so good... We love u Daryl John and crew.
Absolutely... And what swagger theses guys had... Rock n' Roll.
And know understand why was the favourite band of my grandfather ❤ amazing
the rock n roll never die
Looks like Daryl's hair is going to chew you up!
The Lion King 😂
the lean and hungry type
Hahahahahahaha just had dental surgery and been feeling off but that made me lol 😅😅😅😅
Christian Herzog lol
Somewhere there was an angry lion that wanted its mane back.
This is pure beauty
The energy!!!
My daughters are 12 and 9 yrs old, I'm the best dad ever, making sure they know real music, appreciate musicians, understand the difference between what we get today and we got on the 80's... They love this music.
good parent i am teachin my son this music greeting from peru
One of my most favorite bands of my childhood and FUCKING AMAZING ♥️♥️♥️
Absolutely !!! ❤️
What a mane !!!
Oh my gosh, i miss this time so so much. No matter, `88 i had cancer....but if there would be a fairy come to me and give me one wish....i would take it to be back in this time. Riding my BMX bike, wearing the coolest clothes ever, watching terminator and other cool movies, listen to so many many good songs with my walkman, having so much fun every day and falling in love with a girl for the first time.
80s i miss you so so much !!!!!!!
So many great performances at live aid.
Easily the best HO band lineup. Glad I saw them with this band.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🙏🙏🙏🙏 Que Saaaaaxxxx meu Deus! Maravilhoso demaaaaiiissss, esse solo de Sax!
Hermoso!
These's guys are totally real deal
Phily soul...these guys are great from my point of view. Just love it all around. I guess I should not say more but I could.
Daryl Hall: The Best forever!!! From Belo Horizonte/ Brazil
Ele é ótimo, né? Fora que é um cara gente finíssima
Now that's what you call talent.
This was one of two Songs, joining me since i was a little boy (born 1980). The 2nd song was "Africa" from Toto. Daddy did everything right!
What
Ufff!
My old BF and I loved this song! We go out clubbing both if ya innnre tight jeans, black tank tops with our white linen jackets on and…our mirrored aviator sun glasses. We called that our Man Eater Look. We’d go to our favorite club Studabakers on Leetsdale Dr in Denver. We’d jump up in the big boxes that circled the dance floor and boogie our hearts out! What fun it was to be young!
Enero de 2024. Tan fresca como hace 40 años. Aún hoy en las pistas!!!!!! Saludos desde Monteros, Tucumán, República Argentina!!!!!!
Meet John oats yesterday. What a gentlemen. A legend 😊
it still blows my mind that I went to the same high school as oats
They killed it at Live Aid, rock and roll GODS!
The saxophone is so beautiful ahh
Easily one of the best bands of the 80s love this track too "She'll only come out at night...)
Bonitos Recuerdos vivan los 80
El bass y las guitarras 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The sax guys are always cool
Mullet heaven!
A time when charisma wasn't about looks or autotune.
G.E. Smith.
R.I.P. what a talent

One of the best!
Una epoca inolvidable 1985
April 2021 thank you TH-cam for bringing me some beautiful memories
One of their best songs.
Hall & Coates = the best forever, Rio de Janeiro-Brazil
Not even to be there but to watch on television with amazing fact I think it was the first time I've ever seen U2 in concert
1st four albums are essential
John to his other bandmates in the dressing room: ok, everyone just one line each before we take the stage, ok? Daryl: yeah that’s cool. But leave the bag on the table so I can do mine when I get out of the bathroom and then I’ll join ya on stage as soon as I’m done and we’ll sing the hell out of maneater.
I truly would love to see that hairstyle come back. It would be fun to see. 😂❤️
It's baaack..
Amazing performance
G.E. Smith on lead guitar, everybody.
My man should be known my so many more people then just guitarists... 👒 off to G.E
One hell of a mullet
Gary Owens Elvis hair !
I still rock my mullet...
That is a pure mane
philly's finest.
Can't believe it's only just occurred to me that that was probably the reason they got to play for twice as long as everyone else (even Wembley headliner Elton John only got 26 minutes) and were in all but name the headliners at Philly (blew Dylan and the Lionel Ritchie led finale which followed them out of the water) That and perhaps the fact they manged to talk The Temptations, Mick Jagger and Tina Turner into guesting with them.
That was good. Damn good!
Mr. Smith on Lead-Guitar! Great!
How many cans of hairspray have Daryl used just that day 😳 it’s still stays up after singing, dancing and sweating , damn, I want to know the beans he used 👍
Legend tells us 11
They didn't do drugs you dope. No one performs at this level on drugs. No beans required for Hall & Oates. That's why the lasted 50 years
No maaaaaa qué rolotototota!!!!! Subele perro
Eyes closed as I drift back to 85... 18 at the time, 19" Tv playing Live Aid start to finish in a kinder, cooler world.
Everybody Loves. What A Great Performance. Thank You! ❤️
awesome solo for GE Smith, killer tone too
Love the drummer amazing
Man, they should've played "Everytime you go away" so we could have US and UK version (Paul Young)
Une merveille 🥰😍😉😘😘💋💋💋💞💕💟
The GOATS!I Love You Daryl!
Hall e oates São muitos bom
Hall And Oates 😍
Kids nowadays who didnt experience the 80s have missed out on a S*IT load of class music. I feel sorry for them.
Wendy Ross a lot of them listen to music from the 80’s... hope you’re not missing out on the class music from the present?
Magical hair.
