    Early season park laps at Woodward Copper with some friends! This was my second day riding my new snowboard for the 2021 season, the Bataleon Goliath 156. I chose this snowboard to focus on jump progression this year, looking for something that was a little bit more stable compared to the Evil Twin I rode last season. I'm loving it so far and will be making a detailed review later in the season once I get more time on snow since this will be my personal board for the year! Things are shaping up here in Colorado with more snow on the way this week. Thanks for watching.

    I've got the Jam I've ridden a few tbt boards. I feel the tbt work very well with stiffer boards as tbt can feel a bit washy on softer boards, but the stiff, The Jam makes it more friendly and powerful. Tbt works great on the stiffer boards.
    Tj I'm sure you'll love the added support from your new board

      Exact same expérience with me. Been riding for 1
      25 years and 15 right next to the french resorts and rode several bataleon. Same conclusion, i loved the jam and stiff bataleon boards. Softer tbt boards are actually more technical to ride because you really need to stay centered on a landing not to overpivot.

    • @iljajonker9303
      @iljajonker9303 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Take the Boss!
      I went from the Goliath to the Boss and use the board for all mountain riding.
      I don’t know your shoesize but with 44(eu) you don’t need a wide ( I got the Boss 157 and 159)
      The 2021 model is a little bit stiffer than the years before and now it has the same stiffnes as the Goliath.
      The Boss has also a faster base than the Goliath.
      The Goliath is a great board but the Boss is better.
      You are going to enjoy both boards more than the Party platter because they are faster and have better handling on piste.
      I also have the 2020 Party Platter and it is a great board in pow conditions but in normal piste conditions it is a slow an exhausting board, mainly because of the waistwidth of 27cm.

      Happened to my 20 and 21 Goliath too, that is what I found to be the downside of Bataleon.. did the sidewall and edge split?

      @@AdamRuss no part of the bataleon logo fell out of the base!!! 😱 that’s concerning that their board have these issues though. I really want a board I can progress my tricks on. I rode the Evil Twin about 3 days. I notice that the base is not that durable. I see scratches on the base just from riding grommers. I didn't hit that many rails and boxes. I'm coming from a Never Summer Funslinger board. I rode the Funslinger board for over 4 seasons all over the mountain & park and the board barely has any scratches on the topsheet or base. Bataleon 3BT base tech also takes some getting used to.

    Looking for a new board this year. Considering Bataleon, but leaning more toward the Boss. I haven't seen many reviews, so I was wondering about thoughts on the Boss or Goliath for intermediate use on groomers and some park. Main focus this year is improving jumping and riding switch. Other options I'm considering: Yes Greats, Super DOA, Capita Mercury. Any thoughts?

    • @BoardArchive
      @BoardArchive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Goliath is a bit stiffer than the boss and has their directional outline. Still very freestyle friendly though and a fun jump board. The Boss is their premium park board though so if thats your main focus i'd lean towards that. The greats and super DOA could be good alternatives to the boss ( there should be reviews on the channel for the greats and super doa). The mercury is great but is more all-mountain leaning and more comparable to the goliath, it also has a slight setback if I remember correctly

    Hello. I have 171cm and 70 kg, is the goliath 153 to big for me?

    • @eigusteeen
      @eigusteeen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's a bit small, because it's not a park oriented board

    • @iljajonker9303
      @iljajonker9303 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you look on their website then you will see that the 153 is suited for riders with a max weight of 70kg.
      The 156 would be a better choice and will give you also a bit more float in powder.

      @@alexgheorghe6961 , that’s no problem your weight is more important than your body length, your boot size can also be important if you have big feet.
      The extra lengt also gives you more stability.
      The 153 is to small for you.
      If you want to have a twin, you also can consider a Bataleon Boss instead of the Goliath.
