When I go into a company for the first time I spend about 2 or 3 months red flagging those who have those traits. Then I try to avoid them like the plague. It's really bad if they happen to be your boss though. It's going to get worse. If I discovered I was working for a narcissist boss I would change jobs as soon as possible.

I was promo in my degree nobody knew I had. On military service appreciation day, my Drill Sgt hat emerged, complete with immaculate uniform and chrome boots; they were blindsided. The vets ate together and noticed nobody sat until everyone was present. Prior to out sourcing, I was sched promoted back to that section as its business analyst to the same group. All of them were petrified.
'I didn't know'. Yes any BS to try to get herself out of a tricky situation. The look on that mare's face was priceless when the CEO mentioned who she was.

The sad part is, this is exactly how workplaces are. It's worse than elementary school playground. When I was an inmate in corporate purgatory I was flat out told I would never be in management, because if they promote dedicated hard workers like me, there won't be anyone to do the work. You will actually go futher the more incompetent you are & no that's not a joke. People that can't do are promoted to get them out of the way of the people that can. Furthermore NEVER make the mistake of thinking your hardwork, dedication or sacrifices (staying late, missing vacations etc) will be rewarded in any way, shape or form, ESPECIALLY if they make it a point to tell you it will. Do your job & nothing more, arrive at work & leave exactly when you are supposed to. If you need to go to the restroom or you need a drink out of the vending machine, do it right then & there or you won't get to at all. You are NOT required to give 2 weeks notice when you leave, if you were they would be required too give you 2 notice if they were terminating you. They love to point out that you are an "at will" employee, which means they can fire you at anytime, for any reason, on fhe spot. What they don't tell you is, that works both ways. You can walk off the job anytime, for any reason, on the spot & they are required by law to pay you for the time you have worked & any personal time you still haven't used. Since the vast majority of people do not know this & therefore don't do it & give them 2 weeks notice etc, they will absolutely screw with your pay & time owed. Just go to the state's employment office & they can help you. It's amazing how fast everything gets fixed when the state gets involved.
I went through a similar situation with the high school golf team. There was these 2 guys who kept harassing me and I told the coach about it and he helped me stop their behavior. However, one of the guys who harassed me kept playing varsity at 16th ranked out of the 20 people on the team for a long time during the season of my senior year. I asked the coach why he was doing this and he compared it to how Tiger Woods struggled and still made the Ryder Cup team. He then later told me that I was not good enough for the varsity team and that I should keep my mouth shut and stop telling people about what he was doing was wrong. The coach later gave me the coach’s honors award at the banquet for being tough and standing up for myself. Despite of all the controversy, at least the harassment stopped.
This ~really~ happened, told me from a girl I know... Being a hot looking thing in a corporate office, on her first day on the job, some typical smooth talking wolf man went too far to seduce her with the usual flattery to the point of offense. The man asks her, since she is new in the office, what is her job. She said she's the new anti-sexual harassment lawyer, and you're fired. I know for a fact big corporations have such titles averting sexual harassment lawsuits against them and other degrading of women lawsuits such as the Japanese men working in corporate American offices humiliating women employees as sub-servants.

Yes....waiting for the bus is totally much cooler". I do not know why people do that. If it is because they are insecure and want to look like in control or not being okay with themselves or being jealous or so. Or you have such clothes on and be laughed at the cash register but when you go out and get in your car you see their mouths opened because they realized they were wrong. It is impossible to judge a different person.... I do have high respect for the woman because she is being polite and just wants to do a great job. It is not important how you do look while doing it. The most important is that you love what you are doing and that you are doing a great job.

Instead of firing that employee, he ( or was it she) kept that employee on at the same rate of pay, but demoted them to cleaning offices after hours. They refused. The owner said "SO you are quitting". No two weeks notice means no severance, no unemployment benefits, and your contributions to the employee retirement fund will be sent to your mailing address, minus the parts the company contributed over the term of your employment. OOOPPPSSS!es.
