But I wonder how often. Given the number and level of precautions that the hospitals took when my kids were born (3 kids, two different hospitals, same precautions), it seems very unlikely. Mom and baby got matching bracelets the moment baby came out, and those bracelets didn't come off until we got home. IIRC, the bracelets were electronically tagged so neither could leave the maternity ward without setting off an alarm. Staff were very vigilant about how babies were transported within the ward -- I couldn't carry mine in the hallway when we went for walks; baby had to be in the wheeled bassinet the whole time. (I could hold them in the room.) The room was set up so that pretty much everything, including sponge-bathing the baby and administering all but emergency care, was done without leaving the mother's sight. Even so, my wife were watching like hawks, too. If a nurse removed the baby from the room for any reason, at least one of us, usually both of us, were aware of it. I won't say a switch would have been impossible, but it would have been quite difficult to say the list. These precautions were the norm from the mid 1990s to the mid 2000s, when my kinds were born, and I can't imagine they've become less so.

That was amazing. Glad it wasn’t any of the parents fault. That was a very heartwarming video.

What is wrong with these people to discuss this in front of a little girl. No sensitvity at all.

🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍.. separating the girls from their moms would be cruel, even if they were switched at birth, each mother deserves to be in both of their daughters' lifes.

Does that even actually happen? Two children being switched at birth?

I love the fact that this turned out well for everyone involved as situations like this can go South with the quickness. Everyone won in the end!!

Although it turned out ok in the end he cannot take back how nasty he was to his wife though.

That would be heart breaking. I do not know what I would do. Continue raising a child whom I have grown to love, or fighting to have the children switched back to the rightful biological parents. This would be potentially traumitizing them by uprooting them from the only family they knew.

I wasn't crazy about the beginning - fathers freaking out at the first sign that a kid isn't theirs has become so formulaic in these sorts of videos that you'd think it was an epidemic - but I loved the way the situation was handled at the end of the story.

The husband was so hurtful with his words and actions toward his wife and child. (I wonder why he felt the need to have a test done.) Even though it was not the wife’s fault ( and mix ups do happen) it would have to snow in hell before I would allow him back in my life and my daughters life.
