I appreciate the more “Gentleman’s cuts” you are showing I am a cosmetologist and these are the cuts i offer , matter of fact i even have younger cousins saying they want something different of the barber fades and want more of a pro salon cut , I love and respect a great fade clipper cut but its awesome to see barber embracing more of a salon Gentlemen’s cut too.
Alexander was FIGHTING to stay awake during this one haha nice cut. Haven't had to do a shear cut quite like this yet but I at least feel a bit more prepared now.
Ngl I’ve been a barber for 3 years 2.5 of those was being in the military so never used shears I got out and now this what I do for a living and I had my first “gentleman’s cut” my client had a lot of hair he wanted a medium 3 on the sides and 1.5 off the top. When I tell you I was scared asf. I went str8 to Sean’s video cuz I watched it before but I put the video on in my AirPods and watched it to understand where he had his shears and comb lord did this shi save me!
Great video brother really self explained great technique it’s very helpful. Love watching your videos they’re really helping me get better as a Barber. Keep doing what your doing brother. God bless
Awesome man.. more videos like this would be appreciated, can tell you’re fairly new to that type of style n it’s cool to see your progress and knowledge towards the cuts increase cause I also want to be able to do cuts n styles like this, reminds me of a hair show or something lol anyways great vid!🐐🔥
@@Seancutshair Much love to you brotha! Currently going to barber school all the way from Montgomery, Tx. I’ve learned a lot from your videos & God willing hope to reach my skills as good as yours someday! 🙏
If you were trying to graduate it and keep the bottom shorter would you tuck your fingers in closer toward the bottom and take a little hair each time from the previous section for your guide??
Ay bro, this is perfect! Cuttn fades all the time isn’t entirely realistic, so wen I catch these from u or bozz or dre or whoever, I’m on it! Awesome video bruh! Love the content! 🔥 🔥 🔥
I enjoy these explanation videos. Great work showing the guide & how you selected the length. Another barber who I watch on occasion does the same type of cut & then goes from top to bottom on the horizontal. Unfortunately, I still don't see what he's looking for in the comb to cut. Did I miss it or was the crowd area left alone?
Awesome video! I have a few questions I never seem to find an answer to. What is the point of doin diagonal section instead of straight down? Does it make a difference I fail to see? And also how do I know what angle I need to do the sections? Is it just what feels right or are there rules to follow? Thanks in advance 😊
Using this formula the guide is at the top and diagonals can create flow around the head shape. With vertical you’re slightly over directing your guide to the next section and creating possibilities for different lengths
thank you! why do you cut at an angle vs straight up and down? If you're pulling the hair, say 2" from the head, does it matter if you cut at an angle (like from the temple to the ear) does it lay differently? thanks!
@@Seancutshair i disagree, vertical sections are easier to connect but diagonal sections create flow without heavy layering as a vertical section is a layer but a diagonal section has more graduation thus creating more movement and flushness on the round of the head :)
When you cut the sides using diagonal sections with the guide, are you cutting all the hair to the same length or are you pivoting so that the hairs close to the ears are shorter compared to the guide at the top?
Very good because the barbers they dont do only one fade and to short hairs with just the hairclipper . I see and your few days ago video with halloween womans cut,,for me Mr.Sean you are a very very good Barber and i want to be one very good barber like you like bossio like Chuca like all the reallll good barbers i go to hair school academy ... make one wish for me bro...
@Seancutshair...... is it weird that I Been a barber for 15 years and I'm watching your videos on how to do shear work. I guess its because most of out customers were black in barber college.
@@Seancutshair ... splinters... yea (chuckle). They make for one hell of an occupational hazard. Especially if your client is a porcupine. Them quills are the worst and if they don't like the cut they simply shoot them into your face if your wearing gloves. Perhaps you should consider wearing a face shield too. 🙂
👍 I really like these natural clean cuts ....a lot of barbers now a days believe everything needs to be crispy and enhanced..... Nice haircut!!!
I totally agree!
I don’t like these cuts

Crown was left alone wanted to leave most the length just get it off the ears
Beautifully done 👏🏻

Can you do the same concept for a Middle part with a taper?
Yes of course
Peace what kind of blow dryer you using and where can I get it from
Dyson supersonic. I get mine from Best Buy
Thank you bro for that keep up the great work peace
I was wondering why is it you do the sides at a diagonal like you do. what does it do exactly instead of vertical lines ?
Using this formula the guide is at the top and diagonals can create flow around the head shape. With vertical you’re slightly over directing your guide to the next section and creating possibilities for different lengths

Diagonal follows the head shape more and easier to connect all the way around.

When you cut the sides using diagonal sections with the guide, are you cutting all the hair to the same length or are you pivoting so that the hairs close to the ears are shorter compared to the guide at the top?
I’m cutting it in a straight line so the top and bottom is slightly longer and ticks in at the ear
@@Seancutshair Thanks man, I really appreciate your videos. Your methods are clear and work wonders 👌
Can i use this method on most longer length cuts?
Just Bought SCH Finger Feather Razor, What replacement blades do you recommend? Thanks
Idk they’re all kinda the same I just bought a 3 pack of boxes (30 blades) on amazon. They work just fine

Dyson. Hands down still the best imo

Not sure which one you mean. My clipper brush is from Utsumi USA. Neck duster is from Sally’s
