- This episode I will explain how to simply hold a pair of scissors and comb. This is the first fundamental technique you should learn when becoming a barber. I also demonstrate a few exercises and tricks to help improve your techniques. Hope this video helps!!
Welcome back to the new series of Basic Barbering Breakdown, where I will choose 1 specific technique and explain in depth how I execute it. There are too many steps in a full haircut tutorial to explain thoroughly, so I think this will be good taking it back to the basics and breaking it down properly. Let me know in the comment section what other techniques you would like me to show!
PLEASE LIKE! I hope this video has helped you. please click on the subscribe button and comment down below! Appreciate you all. 👊🏼

@@BarberJase yeah, im telling you, do more, share your techniques even the smallets thing you thought wasnt even important, keep teaching even to smallest details. Im Christian Steph btw, teen16yr old barber from Philippines, 'been cutting for 1year now, so I was still looking for a channel that teaches every thing, on evert part of barbering, from salon which teaches more shears like Kochi, MC Barber, Allen Ray Salon, etc.. Barbershops like 360jeezy, Jorge Zepeda, Mem the barber, at the same time was looking for more like barbers that doo shear work at the same time, like the Greatest Barbers: Chris Bossio, Irawandi Zanuiddin which was from Asia too, and more and you were one of them.
Very very happy I would learn how to use scissor seeing your video, thank you
Your welcome 👊🏼🥢
You are an excellent teacher young man. Thanks. Just want to cut my hubby’s hair without cutting my fingers. I will practice. Thanks so much.
Thanks you very much. I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching 👊🏼🥢
I am a Cosmetologist (licensed) for 45 plus years; however I've not worked at it for decades but I still maintain my license. I went to a cosmetology school in Albany, CA and the teacher was a bragging racist-she told us that her family used to have slaves. That brings me to this revelation-they never tought me the correct way to hold scissors. Well, we were told that some tools and technics were solely for barbers. Ex: clippers were only allowed to be used for a mini fade, instead of just a line. Anyway, thanks for the tutorial. It's never too late to learn.
Always learning. In this industry you will never know it all. Thanks for watching mate! 👊🏼🥢
Thank you very much for this video. Very useful. Ima practice this technique. Keep em coming.

This video is mesmerizing. Subscribed.
Jase, I think Jowells are outstanding scissors...I rotate 5 pairs and I’ve never had problems with my fingers, hand and arms over 43 yrs.....different scissors, different tension, using slightly different micro muscles on each haircut equals longevity is this difficult industry......I am not fussy with how people hold scissors as long as it works for them and it is comfortable. I was teaching this scissor technique 30yrs ago and it is great to see you showing what is possible for people interested in it, however I don’t use it myself as it doesn’t interest me....there is a lot of flamboyant stuff taught and yet the end results at times are ordinary when you look at haircuts out there generally.....my challenge to barbers is to leave clippers on the bench and to do whole haircuts by hand......the next thing to learn is how to cut hair with little or no tension.....this opens up a whole new world as elasticity comes into the mix.....definitely another world.....
Wow I would love to see and watch you cut one day 🙏🏽🥢
Your tknic is very helpful all barber students

@@BarberJase hello sir I'm new to barbring only 30 days of experience lol.... But I feel like I understand it
So cool!!
hello ... mr jase .. my name is nelson, i watched the way you cut your hair, i really want to consider you an idol for me. I just got into the barber field, I only have the basics. So I asked for a little courtesy from Mr. Jase to update again so that we can soften our hands so that the client doesn't think I'm too rough and don't hold the clipper for too long.
Thanks for watching Nelson. Just use your finger tips to fold your tools. Remember it’s not a tool, it’s an instrument. 👊🏼🥢😉
@@BarberJase tq so much mr.jase.. hope i cant lern more from you..tq

Is it possible to use a shear in a self cut or any other way to take a bit off the top using any method you know?
I’m not a specialist in self cuts. But I wouldn’t recommend using shears on yourself. 👊🏼🥢
Hey Jase, love your video's and just wondering where you brought your jacket from
