- Roscoe hasn't cut his hair in a year and wants a trim. He said he didn't know if any barbers knew how to cut that long of hair. Of course I was the guy for the job. We're just going to do a nice trim all over using only shears. Then we''ll finish it off with a loose messy style!

absolutely loving all the longer hair tutorials! keep em coming 🤙
your shear work tutorials have been absolutely saving my ass in the shop. getting a lot more long hair clients.
I’ll record them any chance I get!
It was challenging for me to handle the middle part while giving my sons a haircut. However, once you get through it, you'll notice the natural shape of the hair, which complements this style beautifully. Thank you.
Nice!
This is pure gold. Well explained AND great camera angles
Thank you!!!
Thank you Sean for this video. After watching your cuts I have become more confident on cutting long hair and trying your techniques during my daily cuts. I am spending hours watching your videos and every time I watch it again I learn new things. I really hope one day we could meet and have a live tutorial from you here in Australia. Cheers mate.
Love to hear it! 🙏🏼
Best video for this haircut type that I’ve ever seen! Clear and simple (yet thorough) explanations plus GREAT, helpful camera angles. Thank you!
Thank you!
Would love to see an update on the shops favorite clippers and trimmers
I agree !
Might have to do that!
Thank you so much for this video. Cutting long hair is my weak point. You really simplified things for me with this video.
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Your videos are always dope bro. I like how you used that pointer to show the direction in which you were referring to cutting , should definitely start doing that more often 💪🏾 this was amazing work!
I plan on it!
so amazing wow dope thanks for this Sean. will view this a few more times and try this out at the academy
Hi Sean! Great video! I was able to see the DFS education portion at the LV Expo. I’m hooked on this process, and have experienced better results in my longer haired clients. I feel more confident and continue to practice! 💈
Love it! Just keep after it 👌🏻
If/when my oldest decides to let me give him a trim, I'll have to come back for a 2nd look. I appreciate the focus on the guides. Tks
You got it!
The guy has awesome hair. I wish I had hair like him. Longer hair is definitely best and he certainly rocks it. Great haircut 👍😊🙃
Yeah it’s nice for sure!

Nice 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Don’t forget to blow dry it and have them look down to make sure there’s no excess bulk underneath. Good video tho!

Thank you!!!
Bro love your new studio man. I actually in process of making my own studio and am taking a lot of inspiration from you. Would be good to know what your camera and light setup is? 💪🏽
I’m using a canon eos r and the lights you can find in my building a studio series
please make another shears only video with some short hair work no clippers. thanks
would love to see a video of how to do a haircut with a cowlick in the back !!
I have a video on saving the crown. It would be a good one
I appreciate this thanks.
No problem!
I wish my stylist knows how to do this! Any stylist here in the SF Bay Area, I will drive wherever to get this cut!
If I knew someone I’d tell ya!
Did you texture it ?
Will you do a mod haircut? Not really an American type of style but would be cool to see your take on it!
I don’t think I know what that is
Great video! I liked that you put his feedback on the haircut at the end❤️🔥
I got 2 questions man would love to get an answer.
been working more with scissors for a while and I can’t see my guide when I’m cutting the top from back to front or the from the front to the back and I end up improvising or cutting the hair shorter and uneven. Do you got any tips for that? And the second question is what’s the point of point cutting? Is there any difference? Thanks for the gems you’re dropping you very helpful🤝
You can use your scissors to pull the longer hair out of the way to find your guide. I also have a video on a vertical profile guide that’s easy to follow. Could try that! Point cutting just adds a bit of texture to accentuate the style. Not necessary but has its place
@@Seancutshair appreciate you for the help man 👏🏾
last time i seen him was that mohawk high taper a few years ago
Yeah I loved that cut!
Nice vid!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
When you are cutting the first guide around the parietal on the sides do you want to pull out from the parietal like you did the back or down at a 45? Also, how did you tie in the hair in front of the ears at the temples? I watched what you did but didn’t understand and I have a cut with similar length this week and I’m feeling uneasy 😂
Straight out from the parietal
Would love to see you use some chunkers on a mullet/similar style 👀
I don’t use chunkers lol
@@Seancutshair fair, I personally find the back of my fine wavy-curly hair so dense is a no fly zone for thinning shears (frizz) but the razors/point cutting doesn’t always take enough bulk out so thought they could work for texture during the grow out phase
Bro your videos are amazing, I have a question tho, should I buy anti-frizz combs or it's not necessary? thx
Never really seen anti friz combs. I just use YS Park combs they’re the best I’ve found
@@Seancutshair Ty so much for the answer, got it!
Greta video!!! I want to try to give myself this trim, but I’m not sure if it’s possible doing it by yourself? It seems like the back would be very challenging without a 2nd a person. What do you think?
Yeah definitely super difficult on yourself
Awesome!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Do you have any videos for men that have long hair with a pony tail? And still keep it long? I guess around ears and all?
I don’t but definitely something I’ll try and do soon!
I have a question. Can I do this by myself around the head (my head) ?
I guess you could! Might be a little difficult but can be done.
With all due respect thats just a big headache and alot of time for sure to do on yourself. He better schedule in advance with you if he likes that cut lol 🙏🏽 Great video per usual my boy‼️
Yeah definitely not doing his own!
I want to this hair cut❤❤❤
Do it!
Hey when you parted hair from center, you cut his hair from right side, but not from left? Or did you skip that part
Yeah I did the same all around must not have been in the video
Sean i may be going to barber school soon. I never cut hair before. It is easy to learn of it is just a talent you are born with ?
I think it’s fairly easy to learn. How good you get is up to the amount of effort you’re willing to put in
Everyone sucks when the first start. The most important thing you need to be a barber is passion for hair and you need to be willing to put in the work to get good. If you aren't passionate and are only interested in doing it for the money you might want to reconsider.
@@Seancutshair thanks. Sean mill try my best
@@Barberingbyethan thanks It make sense.
Nice ❤❤❤
Thanks 🤗
Hey mate, i work at a walk in barber shop in Aus, and am an apprentice. the other guys except boss are quite fast but i feel they aren’t doing the cuts properly and also aren’t qualifed and i’m going to tafe for my certificate. Anyway, what would you think the average haircut time should take?
Cheers
30 minutes minimum for a quality haircut. I take 45 or so
For a classic cut it will take you around 20min, for fading it should take you around 30min. it also depends on the type of the hair and different things. I work in a barbershop in AUS and we are required to work hard and cut the unnecessary thing and be fast in our cuts. My advice to you is to find a fast techniques and stick to it while you are learning and the best videos for fast cuts you will find it in Sean's channel.
Very interesting approach to a layered haircut. I think l missed you showing how you cross check and also check the balance of the layers all around.
I look forward 3 your response.
It all follows your initial guide so the lengths will follow that. Instead of a traveling guide which can cause over direction
Which YS Comb do you use?
336 👌🏻
Mantaaap bossku...👍 I like it..
Thank you 🙏🏼
Give him the mullet 100% improvement.
He buzzed it 🤦🏻♂️
7:48 I see the difference
Just a small improvement
@@Seancutshair ok
what's this haircut called ?
Just a medium length layered haircut
🔥🔥🔥
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
He looks so much younger
Went from 40 year old to 24 year old
For sure!
Would you recommend any online shear classes ??
Josh OP’s course is a game changer. DFSFormula.com my code SEAN15 will save you 15%

if he has a goatee, he's Shaggy for sure.
Like zoiks Scoob!
Кавказ здесь?
🤷🏻♂️
You lost me at 3:40...everything before was easy to follow
I totally understand what you mean 😂. What he did was a graduation technique. I suggest you do some research on it. I’m a new new barber and it took me a bit to find out how to do that technique.
Yeah it’s not the most simple but you just set a foundation and then cut vertically all the way around
Didn't hardly cut anything...see no difference
Drastic difference lol you better watch again
You should do more cuts from being grown out, curls n straight hair
I try to whenever I get them. Most of my people are regular clients though
Same as before
No it’s not 🤦🏻♂️
