      I love your videos bro..I thank you for your knowledge. I love the way you explain things so simple and step by step..but for much that I try to get that fade right it never works for me. I try following the steps but I guess I'm afraid to go to high and mess up the cut..

      I give my son haircuts but for some reason I never could get it right. Is there some way I can send you a pic of his haircut and you can tell me what I'm doing wrong if thats possible.

    I recently changed shops and my new boss said she’s “really impressed with my fades for someone who’s only been cutting for a year”. Seriously Sean, you’re the reason that I am the barber that I am. You’re teachings are why I cut as well as I do. And things I used to struggle doing (cutting the top), I do with so much more ease now. You’re the best teacher on TH-cam that I’ve found yet. You’re actually the first one I found lol, BUT stills the best nonetheless because I’ve tried to watch others and it’s seriously not the same. So I feel like I need to tell you THANK YOU!! (and please keep making videos lol)

      I have always had these questions and looked at dozens of videos along time and have never found an explanation like this one in this video. This has covered so many doubts that I had and it will seriously make an impact on cutting hair better. I don’t know why other barbers that post content gate keep details like using a non zero gapped trimmer to cut the hair on the bottom. And to not bring the saver too up cause it’s going to make it impossible to blend. I have been making the same mistake before this video dozens of times and couldn’t find how to perfect my blend until now. This video deserves a donation because it’s saved time from making the same mistakes over and over without knowing how to pinpoint the cause.

    • @davidgodoy4685
      @davidgodoy4685 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lever function was very confusing when having a half guard, because the cutting range is different and Sean has explained what’s the best way to move up the blend in length with each guard and lever.

    i think the biggest question is, Do you actually Hit the line with the no guard - open, or do you hit above the bald Line as your making that second line? like do u fr hit it with the teeth or hit right above and flick?

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure I’m understanding exactly what you’re asking. You can hit the line because it’s open it won’t touch the bald line anyway

    Quick question, I notice that when setting in the guide lines that you utilize the whole clipper blade, and my question is, when you go to blend out the lines, do you use more of the corners or what looks like half of the blade versus using the whole blade? Oh sorry one more thing? How much pressure do you apply when using clippers?

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I usually set them in with most of the blade. The more curved the guideline is the less blade I use. You should be push enough to have it flush to the head but the clients head shouldn’t be bobbing back and forth

      It’s too much to explain here. The thickness of the .5 guard is so small, added to a closed clipper it’s shorter than open

    Hey Sean, amazing video as always really. I notice that you are using the Flex more and more. Do you prefer it over the Saber now? Do you think it’s sharper?
    Thanks.

      I dropped my saber and broke my blade. I think it’s equivalent I was just used to the saber

    Hi there,
    I got a cheap machine from the market so i can do my own haircut since it's quite difficult to go to the barber.
    My machine have only 2 accessories and you have to regulate size by turning it.
    So my request is can you put every mensurations (mm) so i can have them and use them with my machine.
    Thanks.

    Sean. I need a favour my big man: can you make a shirt tutorial/video or something for me on bald fading into a closed number 1 on top, or on how to fade into a number 1 for a braid haircut. Need a guide please!

    What's up Sean, finally graduated barber school, been in the shop now about 1 month. I had a question about stretching the skin when takin out the lower 1 or 2 guidelines, mainly that last line. Is this something you do or have done when cutting? I understand how it could be helpful but I also feel like it could throw you off from being able to accurately follow that guideline around the shape of the head. I would love to hear your opinion on this man.

      I don’t do it regularly but there are times a spot is hard to get out and stretching the skin can make it easier

    Is there a difference fading going up vs down?

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same steps but you just don’t put guidelines in fading down. Harder to stay organized in my opinion

    I recently started cutting my own hair and I figured out how to blend the lower line. It's the second line higher up. It always looks like it doesn't match the opposite side. I could use guidance on how to keep the left and right side symmetrical

      Make the line on one side of your head using a reference point like the point of the eyebrow or the point of your side burn square on your temple where it starts to go down. Then instead of following the line all the way around the back to the other side, while looking in a mirror, take a long comb (or pencil or ruler) and put one end up to the line on the side you already cut with the rest of the comb pointing away from your face. Then roll the comb across your forehead to the other side and match up the uncut side with the cut side in the mirror. Hold your finger in that spot with the top of your fingernail marking where the line needs to go. Remove the comb and cut the line where your finger is. Now you have a line on each side and just follow it around to the back now.
      After some time of doing it this way you'll be able to eye it out without the comb just using your finger. That's how I learned to do it. Been a barber/stylist since like 2011. Hope this helps.

      Yeah open one guideline, closed one halfway up and half on the line. No matter what you do the one closed won’t take the line out
