World Suicide Prevention Day 2020 marked the 18th year of this awareness day and the final year of the triennial theme ‘Working Together to Prevent Suicide’. The theme served to remind us that we all have a role to play in helping those who are struggling to cope whilst also encouraging
collaboration at all levels. The year 2020 has seen unprecedented change as we adapt to a world altered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mental Health has risen to global priority as the psychosocial implications of social distancing, quarantines and other restrictions become clear. At the same time, the same social distancing, quarantines and other restrictions have meant many traditional activities could not happen. Innovative alternatives online and outdoors have led to an unprecedented response to both World Suicide Prevention Day and World Mental Health Day.
Inspired by this www.instagram.... post, I was inspired to collect some of my favorite pieces of advertisement concerning the problem.

The Emma PSAs hit harder as I've lost my mom this way. I wasn't a child when it happened but I felt horrible that this was how she left this world. I grew up suicidal and struggling with my mental health, and to see that my own mom did something so horrible and irreversible is just heartbreaking and mind boggling. She struggled with mental health too but she was never open about it. And that's what hurts the most. Not knowing what her last day was like. Not knowing the thoughts that ran thru her head the day I lost her. I remember she was so happy to get remarried the last time I talked to her. I was finally going to have a complete family and I was so happy for her. And everything changed and I have nobody. If anyone is going thru something similar, please reach out to someone. I'm trying to get over grieving even tho it's been almost 3 years. It still hurts and it's something that affects me all the time. She would've been 41 on July 18th... And if anyone has gone thru something similar to me, I would really appreciate your advice and thoughts on how you were able to cope and try to live your life. It's been hard

As an Abro Myself, The 2nd PSA Is quite controversial as they are many complainants from Religious Households and Conservatives for "defending degeneracy". Well at least underrated PSAs. The Philippines my country should have these PSAs. No matter what your Religious, Ideological and Political Affiliation, Threatening someone to commit P-Adic Live is not a good idea
Hi, after watching this video. I have to say that I’ve seen some of these, while I’m seeing new one’s for the first time. Especially the new one like EMMA PSAs affected me most, because of it’s simple delivery. though it was so impactful. Hopefully more people see this.
The second one definitely hit me hard.
I'm a trans guy and transphobia/homophobia is an absolute nightmare (especially in the UK where transphobia is praised left right and fricking center)
There's a reason why suicide statistics are terrifyingly high for trans people. Things need to change.
Be proud of who you are. Those who belittle you for being different are ashamed they can't be you, in all your glory.
You shouldn't be ashamed of yourself for being different. In fact, we can complain about how society is to blame for this bigoted nature.
Fuck, those EMMA PSAs gave me the chills.
4:40 hits the hardest and closest. When your own siblings fail to intervene, due to financial ramifications (a couple are well heeled, btw).
REMINDER: There's a mile wide chasm between CAN'T and WON'T!
As someone who has Anixety and depression this is too important not to share anyone in this state of mind should watch this and hopefully find peace

Agreed, interesting how they convey the message clearly and subtly! I am at this point and have been for a while. You just feel tired and drained.
I know of someone who commited suicide towards christmas. That was a sad time for us all.😢😢😢😢

the EMMA psas was to get more people aware of the problems of situations no child should go through, but they still do, and it can leave a real big scar for life

Edit: also, just because you cured someone doesn’t mean they are fully cured. Once they have those thoughts it’s hard to get rid of. Trust me even I still have it, but it’s not as bad. You just gotta know how to control it even if you don’t have help.

The 1st PSA it's in spanish language.
All the people I knew who claimed to have depression only did it for attention and getting it, they never seemed to care about anyone else, as if they were the only people who have problems. Now I have no pity for them, unless they have some serious trauma
Something I've realized about people with depression or who are suicidal is that they... Try to stop others from feeling the way they do. That's how I can *sometimes* tell if someone is truly suffering. The people who do it for attention, like you said, don't care about anyone else.
