I had a higher end dreadnaught Martin and bought a 000-15 as a couch guitar. Turns out I liked it so much, I sold the dreadnaught. Such a warm, responsive sound and I really like the understated beauty of these guitars.
Always adored and appreciated the tone of mahogany wether paired with a Sitka top or more so the full mahogany you hit the ‘note’ on the head! Understated beauty 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼😎 here here 💪🏼 just oozes class and soul bassy but without being overpowering
Hello Ian. I have been listening to a lot of your demos, and then I found you and your brothers music. And now I realize your demos consist of a lot of original songs. I hear both Keep the wheels rolling and Julie Anna! Thats all brother.
I have the 000-15SM. It's clear, mellow and sweet, but quiet. For solo work and accompanying a song it's great, but its sound is not robust enough for a band or combo unless you correctly mic it. For venues requiring decent volume, it needs electronic assistance. Also, the bass is strong but the treble, not so much. I use medium gauge strings to strengthen the treble. Guitars are always a compromise. That's why you need a lot of them. If you are only playing privately at home, you are going to love the mahogany Martins. For a real punchy sound however, you are probably going to want a spruce top and bigger body guitar.
It know this was at least a year ago, but may I ask if you recall why you ended up picking the Martin 000-15 over the Eastman OO? I’m literally in this same predicament and can’t decide between going for one or the other!
Nothing like YOUR talent to show off a great guitar! Thanks for posting all of your great videos! I'm a fan! I love the sound of Martin Mahogany guitars. It seems that mahogany is about to go the way of Brazilian Rosewood. A Martin 15 style guitar might be a good investment just to hold.
I have had a 000 Road Series Sapele for about 6 years. I works and sounds great as an acoustic but I have some reservations about the pickup and preamp. It seems to feed back bass on some chords even with a sound hole plug. The tone control doesn’t really help because it rolls off treble, not bass. I got an equalizer that does help but that shouldn’t be happening.
The may Good, yes lá construção deste Violão Martin 00015M mui perfect sonorização de alta performance e qualidade sistema acustic TOPI1000. Meus sinceros parabien love.
Ian Meadows could I ask Ian without intruding too much how you have so many of the best acoustics available to hand? 😂 yes I am jealous! 🤣 haha, fantastic playing... love your reviews! brilliant 👍🏼
I own a 00-15 retro with a burst top and ebony bridge and board....nice couch guitar due to the 00 size but could be used to perform if you wanted...I really like your videos...just subbed...
I own a 000 mahogany shaded burst from the custom shop and it is amazing and it didn't break the bank. Got it for around $1400 because it had been in the store awhile and was brand new.
Love that darker sweet sound.,well played brother.

CGDGCD I wish I had enough money to have a high end Martin and use this for a couch guitar. If I bought this guitar it’d be high end for me.

Those mahagony Martins sound so good
I kind of has a little bit of that Gibson like sound but still sounds like Martin

Killer playing Ian....I'm impressed all over again every time I listen to one of your videos!
I love this guitar and your video has the most authentic sound I heard thus far: that's how the 00015 actually sounds like.

Great recording guitar…one of the best!
Strumming 0:01 Flatpicking 1:38 Fingerpicking 2:50 Capo 4:32......ALL some fine picking!
Just traded a OO (Eastman Varnish series) guitar for this one. I prefer the OOO sound and man is it playable! Killer value for money here.

That really does have a great sound...I might have to look into buying one of these.....Thanks for the great review Ian!
Martin 00015 is the best acoustic guitar ever, fact. I love mine so much I just might buy another so I can get twice the pleasure!
@mickymillersson4376 I know where you are coming from,
I feel exactly the same way about mine, S.N. 2358042

Very cool! The 15 series are awesome. Thanks for tuning in. More on the way.
great video ... thanks a lot!
Is this a street master? I like the fading colours around the edges of the body
A bit confused...this has a worn fade on top, but is not a streetmaster. Is it a limited edition 000-15?
Solid instrument ,
What do you prefer this or the Eastman E10 OM?
Song name at 4:30?? Sounds so familiar just can't put my finger on it but I'm learning it real quick.
Nice! What is the song at 4:30-6:24?
Is that the "Retro" 15??
Does this guitar come with a built-in pickup?
No😢
between the street master and the 00015 , which one you going for bro?
Sounds lovely and warm! What strings do you have on it?
Thanks! D'addario EJ16
Ian Meadows do you always use those strings or just for this beaut mahogany guitar?...thanks 🙏🏼
Is this the shaded burst version of the model? Excellent playing BTW.
Yes it is! Its a great guitar... Thanks for stopping by.
