    Call me stupid, but this is the sound I hear in my head when I'm thinking of the best acoustic guitar sound. Never thought I'd find it in a relatively cheap mahogany 000 M sized guitar! I'm stunned. And I've seen other video's of this guitar as well. They all sound like my dream guitar! And I happen to love its looks too. Wow. Eye opener. 😳😳😳

    • @mariodriessen9740
      @mariodriessen9740 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ian Meadows ; Hahaha....., I think you're right, because I absolutely mean it. It really is the sound I want from an acoustic steelstring guitar. I allways thought I needed a Martin D-18, or maybe a D-28 for that sound. Or even the bigger Gibson J-200 (I know, they're all very different, but although I've been playing guitar for 39 years now, I'm actually relatively new to the world of acoustic guitars).
      I've seen all your video's. And I love way you do it. Same mic, same positioning, same room, no editing..., so you give us the best way of comparing all these beautiful guitars. And this one must have been the one that comes closest to the sound I love and seek.
      Unfortunately, I had to save everything I had for a real long time to buy a relatively cheap guitar. And I'm extremely happy with it. So I don't regret not saving up more money, because that would have taken me another year doing nothing but just that. Saving. My time will come. And to be fair, it feels like a relief to know that my perfect guitar is a fairly cheap Martin 000-15M Streetmaster, instead of a 4500 dollars costing J-200.
      Thanks Ian! 😃👍

    • @SuperEdge67
      @SuperEdge67 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aaron.debattista Similar sounding, no pick guard, tuners are different , slightly more expensive. You don’t get a case with the street master. I bought one separately for $200. I’d have happily bought the standard but the shop only had one streetmaster. I picked it up played it and fell in love. I love the way they look. Not everyone does, but I prefer the look of the streetmaster to the standard. Oh and the fingerboard on the streetmaster isn’t rosewood, it’s katalox (a type of ebony).

    • @aaron.debattista
      @aaron.debattista 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SuperEdge67 I like the pegs on the standard 15M more. And no hard case is such a let down! But it's way more beautiful than the standard in terms of looks. So I guess my question is, given that I would need to foot in more money for the guitar and more money for the case - would you say it is worth it or not?

    • @SuperEdge67
      @SuperEdge67 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aaron.debattista I’d say play them both. If you prefer the streetmaster get it, and buy a case. An extra few hundred dollars is nothing when you’ve got a guitar you’ll probably want to keep for life. If you prefer the standard you’ve saved a bit of money.

      @a.j.schuler6785 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I own this and a D-18 Modern Deluxe. This guitar is just as people describe - really warm and easy to play and balanced. The D-18 has a lot more muscle, is brighter, and has a bit more sustain for a rich, ringing tonality if you want to let the sound just ring. That's especially true of my MD but it will also be true of a standard with the sitka spruce top. So it's really about how you want to play. I would not call the 000-15M regular or Streetmaster versions great strummers, especially this version with no pick guard. If you want to play a little bolder and you include more than light, parlor room strumming in your playing, the 000-15M will be overpowered and get a little buzzy. The D-18 with medium strings is ready to belt but with the mahogany back and sides it still has beautiful, even tone through the mid range, which the D-28 does not feature as much. The D-18 is not hard to play by any means but this little baby is butter. The width at the neck for this is slightly thinner at 1 11/16 inches whereas the nut for the D-18 is 1.75 or 1 12/16, if that matters to you. I love both of them but I use them for different things. The D-18 to me feels more versatile, and the 000-15M feels more softly specialized, but that's dependent on how I play.

      Benjamin DeMers yeah I agree man ... (except for the pickup part ... nice to have a true acoustic) anything over 800 should come standard with a hard shell case ! Much like when I bought my acoustasonic telecaster... gig bag and no locking tuners like wtf 2599 and I get a backpack lol
