Rdr2 is good but it’s not top 20 good.....in all honesty story is very repetitive but bc ppl like the game so much and think it’s perfect the imperfections fly under the radar
@Evan Douglas Breath of the Wild has great exploration but is otherwise a pretty shallow game. I still love it but it’s not even the best Zelda game, in my opinion.
Me too I think it deserved to be on the 1st place but 2nd is really good aswell the only thing the game lacks is better Parkour and if it had that, it would easily been 1st

Jonathan Shaver one or two, or even Brotherhood! The latter was the first video game I ever played, and it still holds up years later, and loads of other AC and dozens of non-AC games later! Maybe it’s because I’m a sucker for the setting, but I genuinely feel like 2 or Brotherhood are the most deserving. Chances are, though, I’m just nostalgic with AC:B 😂
@@redmasquerade13 1 has a special place in my heart as it was the one that started it and was a major game changer for me. 2 was definitely my favorite, like you said, mostly because of the setting. The vibe and aesthetic of it was absolutely gorgeous. I keep going back and forth between that and Fallout 3 as my favorite game. I'll be honest, they kind of lost me after brotherhood unfortunately and I haven't played through any of them after that. Though that could be more due to other reasons that I cannot get into really anything anymore.
Well yh RD2 is a really good game. It's mostly to make the list more diverse of different genres of games. Personally i would put Resident evil 4 at 16 make Batman an Honorable mention and put RD2 at 6. I think that's fair. There is no way it could be higher then that in my opinion though. Edit: I think GTA 5 is better then RD2 so i'd put GTA 5 at 6 and RD2 at 8

@409LP lol having a game with so much success have no impact is impossible. People just hate fortnites and don't take a second on how it managed to become so big. Mc imo is super overrated and I think fortnite at its peak was way more fun. In recent months the game had become worse but I still hold fond moments in begin 2018

K S MGS 5 was Good. Well yes, i sadly didnt play any other MGS (because i dont have got a console for it - looking forward to backward compatibility of ps5) so i cant compare it to the previous games but even if it is worst of the serie, it speak for itself that it managed to gain such a huge critical aclaim and made it to the one of the best games that i ever played, even when i didnt played the previous games (frankly said i didnt play anything like it before (from the point of storyteling)) Sure is a shame that it wasnt finished and could have been little repetetive at a time, but still, it is above standart....

I think you should rewatch that segment again , he said "spiritual successor" meaning he wants it to not let down the original franchise it was built on. He never mentioned the game was not done by same company.
look, ive played gta 5, half life and a bunch of other games on this list. And i cant belive they didnt pur rdr2 on the list, for me it is better than any other game on this list.
I just finished RD2 and that is the only reason why I stumble on this video. I assumed it was the best game ever made. Only game to make me cry. Simply amazing.
@YT Waduhek It's a flawed masterpiece. Dark Souls is in my top 3 games of all time, at least for now, but jesus it's got problems. You can't warp to every bonfire for some reason, so you have to warp to the closest one and then walk just to go to a blacksmith or merchant, Anor Londo keeps spawning you at the unlit first bonfire after you killed Gwynevere, and none of this was fixed in the remaster. If Dark Souls worked as intended it would be my number 1 game, but the game is stuck in this spot where the PC port was ass, the remaster was ass, and that kinda brings down the score.

Yeah, as a long time fan, it is sad that there are no Assassins Creed titles here. Even after some of them became GOTY contenders, I don't think it can compete with the legendary titles shown in the video.
@@djcook You can just make a copy of Ocarina of Time 3D and then fix the lighting for the final boss. That doesn't really mean your game deserves to be lauded as better than Ocarina of Time, because it's unoriginal. GTA San Andreas brought more to the series than 5 did, and I loved 5.
Well It’s their opinion, I watch just to waste time even though I feel like 80% are placed wrong 10% right and the other 10% shouldn’t even be on the list. So we all have different taste and some games are just overhyped imo
Popularity and quality typically go hand in hand, with rare exception, they correlate very well. I'm sure there are a few excellent games that deserve to be on this list, but if they aren't widely known, then how can they be included? Sounds like there should be a separate list for the best hidden gems. If there's any specific examples of 'non-popular' games that deserve a spot on the list, I'd love to know which games you think should be included. I'm always on the lookout for hidden gems to play.
And here we are 10 years later still getting new content for and playing Skyrim because it is the game that will never die. One of the most influential games of all time in my opinion.

I still play HL2 these days. Never gets old. It simply is the most ground-breaking game ever made and it's not hard to see why. Once you play it (with M&K preferably) you'll see why.

@@tangentbaker6092 its graphics, gameplay, AI, weapons, world and mission design are superior for its time and it's the first game has physics. Half-Life 2 is one of the games has very little flaws. I couldn't find any flaw in the game and gave it 10/10.

Personally I think one of the ‘Assassins Creed’ titles belong on the list... Black Flag was an incredible game with a great storyline and brilliant mechanics

Its hard to beat Witcher 3 it is masterpiece its something you will remember for a long years. That story was amazing for me and it was the best game in my life. Iam also curious for the new game but i rather wait for it no matter. Today i finished Wolfenstein 2 it was a great example of singleplayer fps with strong focuse on story and many more more extra stuff like easter eggs and surprises. i think lot of development teams should take an example how to make a AAA game title.
While I agree on almost all of that, I do think HL2 deserves #1 but saying great gameplay is a bit of a stretch, most of it was good until we talk about the clunky hitscan combat.
ok so.. the most important game of them all is... quake.. yeah, the original one which changed how shooters were played. i was expecting it to be no.1 on the list with half-life 1 coming in at second, so this list was a total clusterfuck. oh yeah, halo being the dominant shooter? wtf.. console games were never dominant, they would always get shit on if they played against somebody on a computer. and for all the other shooters, when it comes to speed, knowledge and technical ability of the players, none can top quakeworld. for a list like this to not even mention quake yet somehow bring up shitshow companies like bethesda who wrecked quake and doom? fuckit..
I think Half Life 1 was way better. Sure technical speaking Half Life 2 was amazing. But imagine one game did all that technical stuff first? Half Life 2 wouldn't be as good if that's the case. Because in truth, gameplay wise Half Life 2 was a very barebone shooter. Enemies where boring, level design wasn't that great, the guns where boring (with the exception of the Gravity gun and Pulse Rifle). The technical stuff is good, but if you remove that Half Life 2 is honestly kinda mediocre.
I am incredibly happy that Elder Scrolls: Skyrim (One of my favorite Open World games of all time and one I have a very significant connection with) made it's way into the list. Also, it would have been a sin not to include Minecraft here not just because how absolutely amazing and straight up ingenious it's building system is in relation to it's blocky artstyle and personal bias as I am one of world's biggest Sandbox game fan, but because how unimaginably influential it has been and will continue to be for eternity and beyond.

Na, you cant swap Gta V for rdr2. Sure, its may be more polished, but gta v was revolutionary, in multiplayer, graphics and story. Rdr2 is a great game, but gta v had an impact. Also, it should have gta sa 😢
glad to see Resident Evil 4 on the list. easily a top 5 game of all time. Resident evil 4 was the only time i ever finished a game and was genuinely sad knowing that no other playthough of the game would be the same as my first.
@@jakubnovotny1010 puzzle elements admittedly suck but the game feels so much more dynamic than previous installments. the game designers find so many different ways to put you into different combat situations (ex: blind dudes, dr sal, krauser, etc) also, hard to call re4 overglorified 3rd person fps when it virtually birthed the genre.
As the list was going I was thinking wow Fallout is number 1? Especially when it wasn't on the honorable mentions. But to not make the list at all seemed strange.

The gameplay hardly has any variety in it, being called an RPG, it doesn't even have character creation(not that I don't like Geralt's face, but still) or different types of playstyles. The open world was empty and the side activities like treasure hunting practically held your hand till the end. The combat only has around 4 finishing and don't even let me get started with the crossbow. Give a valid counter argument to all these points, if you have any.

I’m replaying KOTOR2 now and did KOTOR1 earlier and yeah there are bugs, but what an amazing game series! The twist in KOTOR1 is the best in game history IMO.
@@400disco Ocarina was a good game but it didn't change everything like Half life 1 did. Game developers actually scrapped games they were working on when they played the half life 1 demo. Itwas so impactful that every FPS created afterwards was affected by its release. Then Half life 2 came out and did the exact same thing. To manage to do something like that 2 times is absurd and they did it.

Horizon Zero Dawn: God of War already did what HZD does- an open world action-adventure, story rich game. Spiderman: Batman Arkham City already defined the open-world, game mechanics, story and characters for a superhero game. RDR got honorable mention.

What!? His list is a complete bust all because he didn’t mention a couple games. KOTOR really popularized meaningful dialogue choices in action RPGs and that should not be understated. If you are going to include ME2, you have to include KOTOR
Exactly...KOTOR is EASILY in my top 10 favorite games of all time. Not only is KOTOR the best Star Wars game ever made, its easily also one of the best RPGs ever made and thus also one of the best games ever. Although there had been meaninful dialogue in previous RPG games before KOTOR, what the game did was take it all step further. I mean for me personally what the game did so well was to make dark side choices in the game so damn tempting at times....I was first playing fully "good good" character, but eventually I started to fall to dark side. First in Manaan where I lost patience to solve the puzzle and just polluted the entire ocean/planet and then in Korriban where I just went full on Sith :D....I remember especially the choice where you can play both sith master and his/her apprentice as fool and choose to kill them both instead of just siding with one or the other and then kill everyone in the Sith Academy...playing dark side character in that game felt so good :D But ye there are many of my favorite games that are entirely missing here, although I have to say there are also many of these that Ive never played yet.... The only ones Ive played and can agree on 100% are Half-Life 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved. Quite possibly on The Witcher 3 as well, although Ive only played through the first part of it. Skyrim I can also somewhat accept, although only when played with mods....without mods and as "vanilla" experience, I think Skyrim wasnt nearly as good as Morrowind or Oblivion (I would have put the latter here instead of Skyrim)
No love for KOTOR is surprisng as is no Mario game with three excellent ones to choose from with Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 and also Super Mario Odyssey.
Yes thank you. Kotor 1 and 2 were some of the best games ever made. They really need to remake them updates graphics. So kids today can play them. Then they will be more popular because people will actually try a quality game. And please make a kotor 3 already soon. Hopefully... I also though battlefront the original one should of been on here and yes Lego star wars. If we are talking about best games of the century. It's the best Lego game and people love Lego games.
Watchmojo wouldn't recognise art beyond the mainstream if it hit them in the face. I'm still bitter at the unfair media that talks so much about women in gaming and never even remembers Heather Mason - one of the best written characters ever. Sadly the spotlight will always belong to the popular, even if it is overrated (looking at you, The Last of Us). Games are art. They have been so long before the became stories about single badass fathers. Art has a heart. It makes you feel things. And no series has ever made me feel more than Silent Hill. Sadly, journalists often either ignore or seen only see them as really fucked up horror.

I think it’s a work of art (and I’m not the only one that thinks so)Gritty, Violent Post-Apocalyptic world where one man thinks a girl is worth saving because he knows that the world has gone to shit around him and doesn’t believe mankind is worth saving, Sad but True,that is one of the underlying theses of the game and I think it’s a great counterpoint!

As someone who was raised by a single father, the progression of Atreus, Kratos, and their relationship really hit home. I could relate to many moments throughout the game and it all felt so natural and realistic. I've never been more emotionally impacted by a game in my life and it might just be my favorite game ever.

K S MGS 5 was Good. Well yes, i sadly didnt play any other MGS (because i dont have got a console for it - looking forward to backward compatibility of ps5) so i cant compare it to the previous games but even if it is worst of the serie, it speak for itself that it managed to gain such a huge critical aclaim and made it to the one of the best games that i ever played, even when i didnt played the previous games (frankly said i didnt play anything like it before (from the point of storyteling))
Sure is a shame that it wasnt finished and could have been little repetetive at a time, but still, it is above standart....

@YT Waduhek It's a flawed masterpiece. Dark Souls is in my top 3 games of all time, at least for now, but jesus it's got problems. You can't warp to every bonfire for some reason, so you have to warp to the closest one and then walk just to go to a blacksmith or merchant, Anor Londo keeps spawning you at the unlit first bonfire after you killed Gwynevere, and none of this was fixed in the remaster. If Dark Souls worked as intended it would be my number 1 game, but the game is stuck in this spot where the PC port was ass, the remaster was ass, and that kinda brings down the score.

I'm sure there are a few excellent games that deserve to be on this list, but if they aren't widely known, then how can they be included? Sounds like there should be a separate list for the best hidden gems. If there's any specific examples of 'non-popular' games that deserve a spot on the list, I'd love to know which games you think should be included. I'm always on the lookout for hidden gems to play.
And here we are 10 years later still getting new content for and playing Skyrim because it is the game that will never die. One of the most influential games of all time in my opinion.

I think Half Life 1 was way better. Sure technical speaking Half Life 2 was amazing. But imagine one game did all that technical stuff first? Half Life 2 wouldn't be as good if that's the case. Because in truth, gameplay wise Half Life 2 was a very barebone shooter. Enemies where boring, level design wasn't that great, the guns where boring (with the exception of the Gravity gun and Pulse Rifle). The technical stuff is good, but if you remove that Half Life 2 is honestly kinda mediocre.

I am incredibly happy that Elder Scrolls: Skyrim (One of my favorite Open World games of all time and one I have a very significant connection with) made it's way into the list. Also, it would have been a sin not to include Minecraft here not just because how absolutely amazing and straight up ingenious it's building system is in relation to it's blocky artstyle and personal bias as I am one of world's biggest Sandbox game fan, but because how unimaginably influential it has been and will continue to be for eternity and beyond.

glad to see Resident Evil 4 on the list. easily a top 5 game of all time. Resident evil 4 was the only time i ever finished a game and was genuinely sad knowing that no other playthough of the game would be the same as my first.
When you unlock the more powerful weapons and then you're just mowing things down, while gratifying, the fear affect isn't there. One of my favs too.
I absolutely hate to see RE4 on the list. It was just overglorified 3rd person shooter missing all the small puzzle elements that made RE2 so great.

The combat only has around 4 finishing and don't even let me get started with the crossbow.

Itwas so impactful that every FPS created afterwards was affected by its release. Then Half life 2 came out and did the exact same thing. To manage to do something like that 2 times is absurd and they did it.

Spiderman: Batman Arkham City already defined the open-world, game mechanics, story and characters for a superhero game.

What!? His list is a complete bust all because he didn’t mention a couple games. Outa all the great games he mentioned, how could he miss one of the most influential games ever made to have set the bar so high for gaming developers to top? Years beyond it’s time even till now. We still have yet to see and experience a game with as much real-to-life interacting gameplay content.

KOTOR really popularized meaningful dialogue choices in action RPGs and that should not be understated. If you are going to include ME2, you have to include KOTOR
Exactly...KOTOR is EASILY in my top 10 favorite games of all time.
Not only is KOTOR the best Star Wars game ever made, its easily also one of the best RPGs ever made and thus also one of the best games ever.
Although there had been meaninful dialogue in previous RPG games before KOTOR, what the game did was take it all step further. I mean for me personally what the game did so well was to make dark side choices in the game so damn tempting at times....I was first playing fully "good good" character, but eventually I started to fall to dark side. First in Manaan where I lost patience to solve the puzzle and just polluted the entire ocean/planet and then in Korriban where I just went full on Sith :D....I remember especially the choice where you can play both sith master and his/her apprentice as fool and choose to kill them both instead of just siding with one or the other and then kill everyone in the Sith Academy...playing dark side character in that game felt so good :D
But ye there are many of my favorite games that are entirely missing here, although I have to say there are also many of these that Ive never played yet.... The only ones Ive played and can agree on 100% are Half-Life 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved. Quite possibly on The Witcher 3 as well, although Ive only played through the first part of it. Skyrim I can also somewhat accept, although only when played with mods....without mods and as "vanilla" experience, I think Skyrim wasnt nearly as good as Morrowind or Oblivion (I would have put the latter here instead of Skyrim)
As much I love Halo 2 better, I can't deny the genuineness of the first one.
No love for KOTOR is surprisng as is no Mario game with three excellent ones to choose from with Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 and also Super Mario Odyssey.
Yes thank you. Kotor 1 and 2 were some of the best games ever made. They really need to remake them updates graphics. So kids today can play them. Then they will be more popular because people will actually try a quality game. And please make a kotor 3 already soon. Hopefully... I also though battlefront the original one should of been on here and yes Lego star wars. If we are talking about best games of the century. It's the best Lego game and people love Lego games.

Art has a heart. It makes you feel things. And no series has ever made me feel more than Silent Hill. Sadly, journalists often either ignore or seen only see them as really fucked up horror.

I think it’s a work of art (and I’m not the only one that thinks so)Gritty, Violent Post-Apocalyptic world where one man thinks a girl is worth saving because he knows that the world has gone to shit around him and doesn’t believe mankind is worth saving, Sad but True,that is one of the underlying theses of the game and I think it’s a great counterpoint!
Silent Hill is one of the few games I actually Passed in entirety, Definitely on my top 5 of all time. GTA3 being My #1

As someone who was raised by a single father, the progression of Atreus, Kratos, and their relationship really hit home. I could relate to many moments throughout the game and it all felt so natural and realistic. I've never been more emotionally impacted by a game in my life and it might just be my favorite game ever.
