EVGA Jacob???
Rock on brother
Sold his soul to the green goblin
@@PyromancerRift go where the money is man. survival is all we think about.
I hope he still eats hotdogs, I miss telling him on EVGA Twitch stream to eat hotdogs! It was a whole meme! I miss Jacob Freeman but I'm so glad he has not left the Nvidia picture yet.
Really hoping for KINGPINs return at PNY!!
so he's a traitor? got it
Ok bro 😂😂😂
Man, scary scary scary. As a first timer, I just completely tore down, cleaned and re-pasted my 5 year old PNY 3080. And it still works!!! So many tiny screws!
But my hotspot temp was hitting 109c lately. It was do it or lose it soon. I can build an engine in my driveway, ought to be able to do this. Gave it a shot. Did I mention all the tiny screws?
Now after 8 hours of stressing the hell out it (just doin' what I do)...hotspot hasn't passed 81c.
The main temp hasn't passed 58c. I think we good again. It was a bit nacky in there after 5 years of smoking cats, but mainly the dry paste. 28 degrees difference.
Pny is a top tier brand to buy from
@@donnydarko7624 It's been great. Zero problems, no whining, fans pretty quiet til past 80%. It totally ignores it's FE specs (1440-1710) runs in the 2000s on factory settings.

Great to see Jacob! Still miss EVGA streams, saw him at LTX 23.
Back in 2004 BAWLS sponsored a huge LAN party at a University in my city. It was the first and last time I've seen a bottle of BAWLS... Until this video. Cool they're still around, it actually opened up a fun memory in my brain when I saw that unique bottle just now.
Buddy of mine, his brother drank them all the time. 2012 is when I seen that, was over and we all were playing games on different 360s (not a LAN or anything, just his brother was in his room playing his own 360 while we played on the living room tv.)
Never had heard of it before then.
I can’t believe they are still around! That is awesome it’s been ages since I’ve drank one
Jacob, thanks for your help back in 2011 with my 2x GTX 470 in SLI. Crysis ran beautifully.
Couple things:
Watching this I was so glad to see you build a pc that a normal person can build. Not the highest GPU and CPU. Then we got to the price and ya that was thrown out the window lol.
Loved that you brought up EVGA to him. I miss EVGA and they were the best customer support I ever had. They sent me a new GPU because one of my fans on the GPU didn't work at all. Awesome company. Wish they were respected by Nvidia a bit more.
I agree with EVGA's customer support. And while they don't deal with GPU's anymore, they still make other great products that you can support them by purchasing.
It's still doable if you spread the purchases out over a couple months and reuse parts from previous builds. I'm building my partner a similar rig right now, but we're reusing his PSU and drives, building in a slightly cheaper case that's VERY similar in size, using a 7950X instead of the 7800X3D, the same Gigabyte Aorus B560M used in this video, a Be Quiet 240mm AIO, 32GB of Crucial Vengeance DDR5 6000, and a dual-fan 4060 Ti. That's brought it down to about $1250 in parts including the new case and 2 high-CFM fans.
@@SerebroWD Would your build be able to run games like Arma Reforger or other similar open world games better than my current PS5? I really want to build one but I can't spend 2000+ dollars.

Can we take some time to appreciate the build montage at the end with supreme editing by Phil here? The soundtrack, smooth fading in and out of scenes, ultracrisp imaging, perfect lighting, camera always focussed on the right spot etc etc. Think i watched it 4x already. You're getting better with each vid bro! This was some impressive work. Keep em coming, best wishes
Was a fun build! 😀
The biggest thing that misses from all these sff PC cases for an lan party... is an actual Carry Handle ontop, to easily move around...
Well this is not an SFF case, anything 20L and below is (this case is almost 27L). Its still a bit too big to carry around in a backpack with every other accessory you need for your PC.
Most SFF cases are small enough so you do not really need a carry handle. NCase M2 for example.
"Affordable PC" ends up at $2800 excluding Windows, monitor, and peripherals. 😎👌

The funny thing about when Jay brings up the A4 H2O? That's exactly what I got one for.
Jay, your diet and exercise regimen is working. You are looking better than I saw you a year ago. Keep up the good work!
I actually just did a build in the DAN A3 and i gotta say i really like that case. I put a 9800X3D with an Arctic LF3 360 cooling it. Also used the Lian Li EDGE 850 PSU and my god did that fit nicely in there. I did have to "modify" one of the fans on the radiator (cut off a corner) because it interfered with the MB VRM's of course... other than that, it was an amazing experience. The LF3 has a unusually thick radiator and standard size fans (not slim like the A12x15's) so i think normal sized radiators will fit, depending on their said size of course and your MB VRM's size.
It’ll be funny if the 5090 turned out to be just a little bit longer than what this case could fit.
No worries, too expensive xd.
It will not be. Even on the 4090 the coolers were much bigger than they needed to be, as well as for the rest of the lineup.
Guess nobody expected a 5090 2 slot, SFF ready Founders Edition card
@ It can "fit" in those A4 cases but will have its airflow destroyed in there.
17:05 This blew me away, lol. I have a couple observations from this part:
1. How TF does Jay not know what Bawls is/are? They've been around for like 20 years, just like he has been in the custom PC building and PC gaming space for 20+ years.
2. I had no idea that Bawls was/were still around. That's wild, but so cool!! OGs know.
So cool, cannot wait for the LAN to kick off! Jacob is just rad!
Hey J2C!
The side bracket fans acting as intake will restrict flowthrough air from the GPU, if you switch those to exhaust, that negative pressure system will help the bottom intakes to pull a higher volume of cool air whilst allowing for much better GPU thermals, which will help reduce acoustic noise, although CPU temps will suffer slightly, since you've gone X3D, these thermal increases will be imperceptible with that AIO during gaming sessions.
Fantastic case, the A3 is mATX perfection as a great price.
The DJI logo looks like a Chevy Bowtie on their shirts haha
BRO BAWLS are still making drinks ICANT

I like keeping one drive for OS and keep my games separate on another. Nothing sucks more then re-installing games if anything goes wrong.
Steve @gamersnexus did a video review about the side intake fans on this case, worth a watch. Great video regardless!
GeForce Lan, boy does that bring back memories.
9:18 i feel like using the steam survey to talk about how 1080p is the most common resolution when you have a 7800x3d and a 4080 super in hand is a little bit borked considering the same survey shows that easily more than 59% of people have a card a tier or more LOWER than a -70class (so 4060ti, 3060ti and lower). i mean exactly what percentage of 4080 owners are running a 1080p monitor? like maybe that conversation requires a little more nuance to be meaningful.
I think the reason he brought it up was that it was more than likely that someone who wins that computer might be still on a 1080p, high refresh rate monitor. Getting that PC might convince them to upgrade to 1440p or 4K, but that's something Jay and Jacob can't necessarily account for.
@@originalscreenname44 It would be a shame NOT to hook up a 4k monitor for that rig.
yeah the steam survey info is worthless. Those 1080p folks are not on a modern card. They are one of the people you see in the video comment section getting a new card to replace the 1080 and thinking the 4060 is a great upgrade. "Common" in the case of steam also means old. If people want to build based on 6 year old info they might as well buy from NZXT at this point.
I run native 1080p with a 7800x3d and RX 7800 XT, don't see the point in going up to native 1440p for a bit higher DPI but huge performance hit.
@@Valthalin1080p isnt obsolete. There’s high refresh monitors 360hz and higher. Not everyone plays games at 4k max settings at 70 fps
The dude looks so disinterested. He didn't wanna be there
The A3 is fantastic. I run it with a 7900XTX and a 14900KF , with no temperature issues ❤ also adding the side fans will provide airflow issues. Steve did some tests which explained it
Glad to see someone else pointing out the airflow issue with the side fans. The bracket is best utilized when removed and thrown away. Fans in the bottom and top is all you need for this case.
Dear Nvidia. If you are going to do this, do it right. Do a last minute swap-out upgrade to a 5080 while onsite. You KNOW that you could sched to have one to be swapped out when the winner is announced. Maybe have them sign a NDA to not run benchmarks before the actual sales. But it should be doable for a trillion + dollar company.
The video is forced onto a German audio track and I can't do anything to change that. TH-cam forced it back onto German regardless of what you try.
Yes please disable this Jay it’s annoying af!!!
This is YT´s new feature. Certain creators got early access to the "automatic synchronization" feature (enabled by default) + got notified by email. Unfortunately viewers cannot turn off the AI translation on their side.
If your Homelocation and language are set to germany, you now got to choose: A) Set it to USA, which may result in english AI translation for all german videos, B) change it manually any time, C) Pray jay is going to turn it off, C) pray YT is going to implement a setting that will allow us to turn off AI tranlation for specific languages,
@@hammelbreu2059 It's been basically the same for title and description translations for quite some time. imho the most annoying "feature" on youtube.
I can just change it in the settings gear under audio track. They really need a setting not to switch to the annoying ai translation when it's a language you know.
Funny thing is the default setting in my control panel is NOT to force the regional language.... I'll look into this
Just built a new PC in this case. It's such a great size. Small enough to look sleek on my desk, big enough to fit a larger GPU and even an ATX PSU.
Damn Micro Center. How about giving Texas some more love.
EVGA Jacob, He helped me reedem a code I missed out on with my 2060!, Jacob is the man!
Awesome system! That Lian Li A3 is a fantastic case. I put together my first PC in that a few months ago. I went with an ITX, surprisingly had access and enough room on the other side to add an additional m.2 drive.
For the AIO why not go with Arctic? In This build you don't need RGB so Arctic is the best performance.
I think the one problem with Arctic for this particular case is that their radiators are like 10 to 15 mm thicker than any others. As someone who owns this case, space is still at a premium and trying to mount that at the top might interfere with the motherboard. Not sure if side mounting it would cause the same problem.
They are very thicc
Because they went to Microcenter 🤮
@@originalscreenname44 Yes thats true. I forgot that Arctic has thicker rads than most AIO's.
@@originalscreenname44 kinda funny an Arctic Freezer does not fit in this case, but fits in much much smaller ones (even an SFF case like Ncase M2).
A tech TH-camr doing a sponsored video at MicroCenter, WHAAAA?? This has never happened before.
Hi Jacob. You helped me RMA a 2080ti a few years ago. I kept receiving cards artifacting that were repaired cards until you intervened, and I was sent a new card. I still really appreciate you responding to me and fixing my issue.
Why does micro center only have locations beneficial to scalpers?
lan parties still exists?
The best video of two dudes just nerding out 😂
I love the Music Montage! Thanks Phil!
8:26 If you use pcpartpicker you can sort RAM using the "first world latency" option and compare the speeds vs their timings in nanoseconds. In most cases there is no perceivable difference, but if you're shooting for numbers then the lower your first world latency the better.
We absolutely need a Micro Center in Spokane WA. We would get shoppers from Idaho, and Canada as well as Washington State, and Oregon.
Trust me there needs to be more Micro Centers in many places lol. But I agree PNW needs one.
Nah they would put one in Seattle, we of the East Side don't exist.
I think they will be adding more west coast stores next. They are just about to open one in the bay area so I would guess that after this round of expansion pdx and seattle would be in their next round of plans.
Man just mentioning evga makes me realize that i still really miss them.
As a 4090FE owner with an A4 H20 I assure you it fits perfectly in that case and temps are a dream.
I love a good lan rig, my lan rig of choice is my 3080 5600x build that I turned an old mining 3080 into a gaming gpu with a laptop fan and a masking tape cooler, ill take a good story over a strong pc for a night and I pair it with a cheap 1080p portable monitor
16:38 Hamish from VLDL finally getting some help!
I know the reference. TH-cam popped up your comment right around the timestamp, so I saw "Hamish" in the background. Lol
yeah Hishmish always getting screwed with store help
I'm so stoked about a Micro Center opening by me
👀👍
Nowadays I build my PCs using only full tower cases because it’s easier to adjust things around or make upgrades :P
Same, I like having a large case to work in for builds and maintenance.
Sammme! I hate all these cases as well that completely take away front panel stuff.....how else am i easily going to tuck a bunch of cables away while still having good airflow on my 7200 rpm drive and 5.25 disk drive?....
Yes i'm eclectic, why do you ask? XD
*SSD... my two cents...*
I always use a 512GB SSD for Windows. Why? BACKUPS. I setup an automated backup using Macrium Reflect Free. I don't want more stuff to backup, and I don't like to PARTITION the OS drive as its less headache if I need to reinstall Windows, restore the backup etc. (things sometimes go horribly wrong)
I fill the drive up, over time, to roughly HALF full. And I use the SLOWEST of the M.2 SSD slots and reserve the fast M.2 for a fast SSD to put the games on. A fast SSD for Windows is mostly pointless.
Running windows from sata drive also makes sense, since typically you have an old sata drive anyway. I have 256gb 840 evo which is in perfect condition. The diference in boot time is like few secons, cimpared to nvme
The much maligned NZXT H1 is a great sff case. I have the V2 and it houses a 5800x3d and an RTX4070 ti super whilst only being 15.6 litres in volume.
I wish there was a way in steam survey to click on a GPU etc and filter the popular resolution - I'm assuming people with a 4080S are less inclined to use 1080P.
That final build looks like a work of modern art
The A3 is the perfect size fits a M-ATX mother board and 4080 super leaving minimal dead space while still having enough room for cable management with some prior "planning".
7:00 you chose a wood case when you have those waifu cases right behind you?? unbelievable!
Personally I would like to see a minimum of 2 drives so the OS has its own & another just for games and maybe a sata drive for bulk storage. OSs can still brick (although less common today).
I've gone back and forth on this point, myself. But I've been pretty happy taking the single large drive and then partitioning for windows so I can make an image and keep it on the larger partition (with everything else). That seems to offer the best of both worlds -- barring actual drive failure.
This is the content we need
it's huge. I have a nr200pv2 with a suprim x 4090 which i find is brilliant for when i travel with work.
What about the thermals? I got curious.
The A4 actually fits the 4080/4090 FE perfectly. It's amazing
Yeah typical Jay
This title was obviously click bait saying SFF then goes micro atx.
Bait and switch at its finest
@@XHeavygunXit’s not even that serious
@@boolaidman471 If that’s not a click bait for people in the SFF market then I dont know what else to call it. Why doesn’t he make titles saying “ATX build” then use a Mini itx board, low profile cooler, or even a SFX psu? Pretty much the same thing he is doing now
The a3 case needs some competition in the mATX space. It's everywhere !
Still sad that we dont have that kind of store in germany, where you can hop in and browse at your hearts desire. We more have the long desk with a sellsperson in front of a wall of few pc parts and most of the things they have can be seen on a magazin or a picture and you have to "order" them which most of the time means someone get it out of a warehouse or the back of the shop instead of you picking them up and checking the box yourself.
I for one am really really hoping that now that Nvidia has formalised their "SFF Ready" program, that there are 50 series SFF cards ready to go right out of the gate, rather than having to wait a year after release for something like the Pro Art cards.
Not a build video until Jay puts his finger in a fan.
How else would I know they are running?
6:23 oh that’s exactly my case I downsized last weekend ❤ lovely case. (Specifically in wood)
@JayzTwoCents, That’s so cool, I just got done with my high-end portable lan build using the same case, then I came across this vid, and I think mine might be a bit more “Ultimate” than yours lol! My parts list: Dan A3 wood front, 4x Arctic p12-slim fans, Asus Loki 1200W SFX-L, Strix X870-I, 9800X3D, Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360, 4TB WD SN850+, RTX4090, 8000MHZ T-Force Ram running in 2:1 mode MCLK, UCLK, FCLk! After some tuning, achieved 32K Time Spy run with a build so small it fits inside my other pc case, love it! Had to do some Tom foolery to get front audio connections to work since mobo was missing header. Gigabyte X870 ITX wasn’t a thing when I purchased… Next, I will be 3D printing a custom front cause I don’t like the wood as much as I thought I would but love the added airflow… Can send pics if you’d like.
21:11 again with the 580s man. They refuse to die😂
I miss seeing more of the quick shop and build videos. Every one is always a bit different and i think show a more realistic user experience. I understand they need standardized test benches for validation though.
My rig I take to LAN parties is a 7800X3D, 32GB of RAM, an ID-Cooling IS-67-XT, Corsair SF 750, 2TB NVME, in an open air frame with a 7900XT. I have had this build in an NR200 case and it worked great but now us a Crow's Bluff Elevation open frame to show off components and ease of carry. My whole system cost less than the 5090.....
Jacob's the man!
jay. you need to try the phanteks d30. i have 3 on my rad and one as intake for the case and they are amazing. i also wish you'd do a vid on their new aio with those fans
I like the selection of the RGB fans; just enough RGB but not RGB PUKE...very well done.
Please could you test a few sticks with very loose timings for a given MT. Given such marginal differences shown it would be good to get an idea just how bad the loose timings are.
On my next build I might just decide to go for much more ram with looser timing than premium memory.

28:38 so the AIO fans and the exhaust fan are fighting for the side intake “cold” air? Where does the warm air from the bottom 2 fans go? I have this case and trying to figure out what the best fan set up will be
The bottom fans feed cold air to the graphics card, which will get pulled up into the upper chamber by the exhaust fans. There's a total of 4 intake and 4 exhaust fans with restriction caused by AIO, so there's a small amount of positive pressure.
Missed opportunity to get a picture of Jacob with the EVGA shrine.
SFF is 20L or less. 20-40L is MFF. So its pretty well defined.
THAT LOOKS AMAZING
Awesome show Jay! Thank you!
Great choice in montage music!
@2:00 I have a Dan A4-H2O that I take with me when I travel. I got the A4 because it does fit in a pelican air carry-on case. I had to do some trimming of the side foam to get it to fit, but it works and I've been using it for almost a year now.

oh, c'mon same case fans too...also i think the exhaust is counter effective, just a thought but if it pulls air from the side to top slow it eats some of it, learned it having 3x out on top and the frontmost one ate up cpu cooler airflow so i removed it and got better idle and load cooling.
Funny part is the Fractal Terra will indeed fit a 4080 spuer FE. The Terra supports up to 322mm and the FE is 310 lol.
