    It’s what I tell people: “you know what’s worse than being poor in the USA? Being poor in a 3rd world country.” Folks don’t realize how much opportunity there is in the USA.

      Much, much better to be poor in the USA than poor in a poor country. The opportunities in USA for a poor person to improve their situation are incredible. I know by experience.

    As a European, I can confirm that starting a business in America is MUCH, MUCH easier than having it in Europe. You have to deal with local IRS, various VAT rates across Europe, a ton of bureaucracy. On top of that, having a successful startup is very tough, as the business climate is very "mature" and UNWILLING to accept new trends. Also, EU imposes a ton of regulations, so it becomes a nightmare to do something differently than the others, which basically negates EVERYTHING the startup culture is all about - making something in a better way.

    Here’s a life changing moment: I was a young, newly married man helping out at a church garage sale the week of Christmas. Everything being sold were literally throw-away donations. A man brought his wife and two children in and told them to pick out what they wanted for Christmas. The kids went through the entire sea of “other peoples trash” with an indescribable amount of excitement.
    A year later I was in a third world country parked next to a set of condemned buildings that were full of people and considered their “projects”. The towns dumped all their trash at this location and, as soon as the truck left, dozens of small children, mostly nude without any clothes, would run into the piles to scavenge anything they could find before running back inside.
    This was all 20 years ago and I still think about these experiences daily.

    As an American I was under the impression that the "American Dream" was all an American citizen needed was a High school education to land a decent job and be able to work their way up the company/corporate ladder. With this income, they could afford a brand new $125k- 200k home and have a family on a single income. Retiring at the age of 62 with a good retirement/pension that is supplemented by social security.
    Now it's nearly mandatory that American citizens need at least a 4-year degree to get a non dead-end job, play the stock market, earn passive income, and have a dual income household just achieve this American Dream.

    Necessity (desperation) is the mother of invention. Youth and good health help. At 64, surviving off SSDI, I don't know what to do. What skills do I have to offer that people would want to buy? I can hardly get around my apartment with a walker. Not looking sympathy, here, but I speak for millions who are in my situation. All my family is dead; it's just me. But I trust in God and am grateful I'm able to support myself and am grateful for all God has blessed me with. It is enough, but if God opens a window of opportunity somewhere, I'm LEAPING through it!!!☺️

    • @micheleparker3780
      @micheleparker3780 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @cocomarineblu993 Of course there was. MANY somethings. Who doesn't? Sometimes in life, dear, things happen that all of us are not equipped to deal with, have the resources or connections. Then there's always, "wrong time, wrong place ", right time, wrong place, right place, wrong time - follow me, dearie? But one must play the hand they're dealt the best way we know how. VERY few of us are fortunate enough to have mastered everything life has to throw at us without making a single mistake, but keep on breathing; you may just find out. Or maybe not. Here's to wishing you your highest good. And for the record, I did say I was grateful for EVERYTHING I have, including the ability to support myself. I thank God for all in my life, including the difficulties. God bless!!!

Quit honestly in my opinion the best time to earn money all you have to do is sell a product to the public for a profit all while possibly never leaving your house. Keep it simple: work hard, stay healthy and active and save and reduce spending on things that don't bring value to your life.
