As a surfer who remembers those first Ugg boots ads in Surfing Magazine, this interview hits home on a different level. I never knew the back story of the brand and founder. This man is a Legend! Thank you, Brian, for being real, sharing your knowledge, life lessons and still being stoked on life! The concept of businesses being like children going from infancy to childhood to teenage years then adulthood was really helpful. Also, sharing that having the big house doesn't always equal happiness was a true wake up call. Thank you for keeping it real.

Brian Smith seems like such a soulful, wholesome, and authentic person. These qualities are hard to find in successful businessmen, or at least they don't usually like to show it. I love that Brian was so open and willing to share knowledge through his entrepreneurial journey, the mistakes he made, and the lessons he learned along the way. It makes him seem very human, humble, relatable, and REAL. We often idolize successful businessmen of the world because they seem like these god-like figures who can achieve the impossible. After watching Brian speak, it really seems like ultra-high levels of success can be attainable if you have the perseverance to stick it out. Thanks for sharing, really appreciate this interview.

Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future.., I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life!!

This was a horrific-but-great-outcome story. You look at yourself and ask "would I have done that"
The answer is probably "no" mainly because of the siren call of "Opportunity Cost"
It doesn't even matter about the despondency of losing your own company to the investors and working in the business despite that loss.
It would have been "I've got to commit my time somewhere with more hopeful opportunity"
This guy has astonishing levels of commitment. Reminds of the Antarctic case of Ernest Shackleton.
