As a surfer who remembers those first Ugg boots ads in Surfing Magazine, this interview hits home on a different level. I never knew the back story of the brand and founder. This man is a Legend! Thank you, Brian, for being real, sharing your knowledge, life lessons and still being stoked on life! The concept of businesses being like children going from infancy to childhood to teenage years then adulthood was really helpful. Also, sharing that having the big house doesn't always equal happiness was a true wake up call. Thank you for keeping it real.
The interview is outstanding. Its even better than all case studies they teach in management schools. Thanks Brian for sharing his story & Noah for bringing it to us
Brian Smith seems like such a soulful, wholesome, and authentic person. These qualities are hard to find in successful businessmen, or at least they don't usually like to show it. I love that Brian was so open and willing to share knowledge through his entrepreneurial journey, the mistakes he made, and the lessons he learned along the way. It makes him seem very human, humble, relatable, and REAL. We often idolize successful businessmen of the world because they seem like these god-like figures who can achieve the impossible. After watching Brian speak, it really seems like ultra-high levels of success can be attainable if you have the perseverance to stick it out. Thanks for sharing, really appreciate this interview.
Recessions are where millionaires are created. I feel for the older generation, but you should do everything possible to double and triple your investments if you are young or middle age.
Very true. Despite having no prior investing knowledge, I started investing before the pandemic and pulled in a profit of approximately $950k that same year. In reality, all I was doing was getting professional advice.
There are a lot of independent advisors you might look into. But i work with Viviana Marisa Coelho and I have been working together for nearly four years, and she is excellent. You could proceed with her if she satisfies your discretion. I endorse her.
Your analogy of starting a business being like raising a child really resonated with me. Your advice on staying true to your values and pursuing your passion has opened my eyes. I was initially focused on developing apps, but after listening to you, I realized that my true passion lies in sales. I'm now motivated to get behind what really inspires me and to pursue a career that I truly enjoy talking about. Thank you for inspiring me to follow my dreams. Great interview and won a new sub.
Congratulations on finding an area you are truly passionate about pursuing and working towards something that supports what inspires you. Continuously following your dreams and working hard for them will bring you endless possibilities and achievements. I wish you a fun and successful future career! Do you often follow his interviews?
Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or trusted advisor in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields.
This is superb! information, as a noob it gets quite difficult to handle all of this and staying informed is a major cause, how do you go about this are you a pro investor ?
Through closely monitoring the performance of my portfolio, I have witnessed a remarkable growth of $508k in just the past two quarters. This experience has shed light on why experienced traders are able to generate substantial returns even in lesser-known markets. It is safe to say that this bold decision has been one of the most impactful choices I have made recently.
I'm working with a consultant named *'Nolan Velden Brent,'* whom I discovered through a CNBC interview where he was featured. After reaching out to him, he has been providing valuable entry and exit points for the securities I focus on. If you're interested in his supervision and expertise, you can look him up online using his name. Following his trade pattern has been a rewarding experience, and I have no regrets about doing so.
Loved this story, what an awesome dude. I listened to it while driving, and he sounds just like some chilled intelligent, possible stoner, surfer dude, even though he’s a multi millionaire success story. He hasn’t lost himself through the journey. He for sure stayed true to himself, and REAL, and that’s the best part of his story. For sure.
that probably makes sense for people to retain the majority of the natural personality if they been in the game for multi decades. They have solidified themselves over that period of time
@@victorwarner319 It’s great that his natural personality was just so cool then as it solidified through the years. I’ve known a few people who went from broke to extreme wealth and they went from being mild a-holes to massively arrogant a-holes 😂 I feel like they lost the opportunity to go the other way and amplify their good traits as the wealth amplified.

While listening to Brian I was reminded of Napoleon Hill. He said never give up and do MORE than what's expected and you will reap the rewards. Staying the course is often what makes success. Wonderful interview. 🥰
This CEO has a book with his life / business story. Might be interesting to look at Having the space in life to watch the sunrise and the moonrise is a big part of happiness in my opinion. Essential.
Great video! I loved Brian's story. Particularly how he decided to get out at 15 mil and is happy with the decision in part because of things he prioritizes over money.
So interesting listening to a very successful and popular owner who started Ugs. It isn't always easy but being there at the right place, right time, having smarts and believing in yourself and product made him a very wealthy man. Happy for him!!!!!!
after binging some of your vids, great and not so great people but great business insights all around and better still, great wisdom, specially from the old chaps, thanks for your channel.
This was a horrific-but-great-outcome story. You look at yourself and ask "would I have done that" The answer is probably "no" mainly because of the siren call of "Opportunity Cost" It doesn't even matter about the despondency of losing your own company to the investors and working in the business despite that loss. It would have been "I've got to commit my time somewhere with more hopeful opportunity" This guy has astonishing levels of commitment. Reminds of the Antarctic case of Ernest Shackleton.
What a dude 👍 As a 70’s Aussie grom who had their 1st pair of Uggs in the back then it was so refreshing to see Brian interviewed and hear the story first hand.
