It's not just a big glorified commercial for two middle-aged actors and a thirty-year old trilogy. It's a series that is every bit as authentic and substantial as the movies, probably even moreso. I think that is really meant to touch on how Johnny had a "bad teacher", Johnny was clearly discouraging his own students from acting unethically. Mr Miyagi had his issues too,
Why does no one talk about how Daniel said to Robby that his Father was just misguided and wasn't evil, That just shows the remorse that Daniel had for Johnny.

"And your dad, had the worst teacher there ever was. It sent him down a wrong path. But you don't have to go down that path. Do you understand? You don't have to ever become him." Oh the turntables........
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, and also the part during the match where he remembers his training with Daniel where Daniel tells him to "search for the good inside" and it's just a shot of him closing his eyes and meditating, so sad to look back and see considering what he's like now at the end of S3
Yeah it's pretty sad but he still does have a chance to not end up like Johnny did if both his teacher and dad can save him. I honestly wouldn't have set him up as the villain in s3, i think he should have sworn off karate after what he did. And when shawn and the others pick on him he shouldn't have done anything. And on his time in prison he finds a friend whose life is on danger later in the season but shawn but robby uses miyagi do karate to save him.
I have this feeling that this talk here is what is going to change Robby again. I think that in the s4 tournament, there's going to be a reason where Robby remembers this talk and gives up on Cobra Kai.
True at that point, but now things have become strained between them again. I hope by the end, they are able to reconcile. After all they’ve been through together, it would be upsetting to end things that way.
After watching Cobra Kai, I realized something- Hawk is actually a pretty amazing martial artist in this. I mean, he went up against the top of the top (Robby for example) and was doing well, up until the end. It was then that he got frustrated. I have a feeling that him getting frustrated is what really fucks him over in the end. He is quite the guy, but when it comes to him and his emotions, he can't control himself.
@@landon8987 i think johnny Miguel and robby's plotline will be a little deeper and maybe a bit detached fron the whole karate feud next season. I would be absolutely excited fot Miguel and robby to become an actual tag team and save the myagi dos in the final episode tho

2:11 i like how Miguel is annoyed at Hawk for fighting dirty but he does that later himself to Robby by targeting his shoulder 🤦♂️ Hawk assisted him in a way.
Well he was not wrong in targeting the shoulder....they are in a competitive tournament...besides the illegal move, nothing was wrong in miguel targeting robbie arm....
@@bbp2930 yeah...I admit the illegal moves were wrong but targeting the shoulder was nothing wrong...I mean if you play a soccer game and you know that your opponent team has a player completely unskilled wouldn't you pass the ball to the players near him since he's a noob?
Hawk is your average karate class bully. The one who came by the mat once every two weeks to release pressure and waste newbies. Therefore, it makes him strong enough to deal with weaklings or less agressive fighters, but no match for skilled ones. Miguel has dedication, kime(confidence and accuracy) and is a natural technician. Robbie is approaching Miguel's level in S2, making Hawk a sandbag for both. I like Hawk though.
@@ThePenroseIncident I disagree if given the chance hawk will fight anyone like in the finale he fought eight people from m do. Also he can slide many of the skilled fighters including Robby. Hawk focuses more on strength rather than technical which makes him more aggressive and in theory less of a challenge but that couldn't be further from the truth hawk is a pretty capable fighter in the standards of their show. Also hawk is dedicated to the dojo as he threatened to beat up his best friend who might I add he had included in everything up until that point over a yelp review that's dedication to a craft.
@@jackieboy0005 I see your point, Hawk is bad-ass and i actually like his way of fighting and his evolution. What I mean is that Hawk isn't a natural like Miguel or Johnny. I don't consider Robby being superiorly skilled neither, I'd say his plot armor makes him look like he is. Miguel is the best fighter amongst the kids IMO, while Johnny is actually the most skilled adult in CK S1 et S2 (That might change if Chozen stars in S3). I'm sorry if my opinion sounds quite subjective though, I train in martial arts for 30 years now it's mostly my guts speaking lol.
I love the psychology in this fight, I can feel the animosity between these 2 characters that don't even know each other, but we know their backstories and the hate they have. I liked the fact that Robby found Eli's weakness very fast (His haircut, because that's the source of his confidence and security) Mocking him of being a softy pretender and Eli's reaction showing that Robby is right about him.
@@foehawk-od4cc hawk wouldn’t give a crap about his 2inch arms he’d probably stuff them down robby’s throat somehow. Op’s comment about the hawk bring his weakness is right
Probably going to be all over Kreese next season when/if Kreese takes over and approves of the "No Mercy" methods that Hawk is enforcing for Cobra Kai.
Hawk and Robby are two polar opposites. Hawk was born shy and harmless leading him to become a bully victim, which made him go all raging bully to compensate for that. Robby grew up in a troubled family, leading to him becoming a delinquent, doing a bunch of criminal acts, which toughened him up, but not learning how to restraint his anger and demonstrate kindness. Something he learned through Miyagi Do.
Robby can’t handle aggression fighting aggressive himself he’s better at defense and Hawk took his experience from being in cobra Kai and now Miagi Dojo and combined both to beat Robby
See? Anyone who says Daniel is the villain needs to see this. This is who Daniel is. He may never be friends with Johnny but he will always do what's right. People need to stop looking at the story in black and white extremes.
That's the thing. Daniel always thinks he's doing the right thing. By what exactly? Accusations? Starting Miyagi Do again despite already having a prosperous life? He's the one being spiteful. And every one of those traits were inherited by Sam in the ABSOLUTE WORST. She's so self righteous, entitled, and so damn hypocritical on what she did to Miguel, Aisha and even Tory. She's a literal goody two shoes who doesn't know JACKSHIT about true kindness.
@@memecliparchives2254 also thats not true, that was not even implied in the comment what do you mean thats the thing, he just said that this is who daniel is, he motivates, he teaches.
*1:48** That was Johnny's problem. He never taught his students emotional control. Only if someone offended you, would you have to attack brutally, without fear and mercy.*
I really feel bad for Hawk, not because of the fight, but because of how this is basically everything he’s learned from the world with Johnny’s motto of No Mercy and how merciless the world was to him. When a reject finally learns to stand up for themselves it’s gonna take a long time to learn when boundaries are placed
Robby is my favorite character in this show because just like his father he changed over the course of the season. Johnny and Robby should get together privately to train against the new cobra Kai regime led by Reese. I can imagine Robby using a mixed style and him and his father bonding over little things.
Rw Chitown he can still join cobra kai and learn from his father and bond and he can be the first person to ever learn the both style of cobra kai and miygi dojo karate
This was a most interesting turn of events: first of all it took Johnny's own flesh and blood to get hurt by such dirty tactics that he employed to get him to reconsider his ways (at least for the time); secondly the student's (mainly both Hawk and Miguel) really embodied the spirit of Cobra Kai (no mercy and ruthless aggression) in a way that was next level in this tournament.
Cobra Kai has a really good formula. 10 eps per season leaving little room for filler (though I wish there were a few more, cause there was potential), the throwbacks, the characters’ individual stories, even the humor. I love Cobra Kai and now I need to start it again
I like how even though Daniel says here that he'll never like Johnny, they did manage to bond, however briefly. If like is out of the question, maybe respect has a chance.
@@hawk484 no need to be defensive and yes i was talking about miguel not you the fact that miguel didnt aprove hawk cheapshotting robby from behind which by the way doesnt make you a badass but a wuss.
Ok but where was robby walking to when he turned his back? All he had to do was take 2 steps back but instead looks like he's walking off the mat. I didnt hear him call a time out either.
"Ok but where was robby walking to when he turned his back?" -- I'm guessing he was walking back to the "line". Although there was no literal "line" on the mat to mark where you're supposed to stand, both fighters go back behind the line after each round. Admittedly he was walking way too far off.
I like Daniel’s face when he sees Johnny confronting Hawk... in that very moment Daniel realised that Johnny changed and the fact that he’s not Kreese.
Damn this really parallel's the season 4 ending fight so well, both of them swap sides, they both come from different sides, in here the miyagi student just regains his confidence and the cobra kai student is always aggresive. Hawk's first fight with rob ended with a disqualification, then in his final one ended with him winning grand champion. FUCK
I’m surprised they didn’t do an eye for an eye as in Robby would cheat, I’m glad they didn’t despite what everyone else’s thoughts he’s still my favorite

Guess Miyagi didn't teach him that technique.
Catspaw A grown man doing "magic hands" on his pupil risks being arrested for inappropriate contact now.

“He’s not a monster……he’s just a guy with a lot of demons” I always loves this seen so much Johnny has always been my favorite ever since the first movie honestly but this seen beautiful sculpts why I love him so much it’s cause he’s never been bad just had too shed his weak skin and become strong cause that’s all he had his real father is gone his step dad is awful and his mother was all he had plus cobra Kai it’s the only true place that made him belong again those kids weren’t bad they just wanted a peace of the action same as Johnny he wanted that action too and he lives forever with that “bite mark of the cobra” that creese gave him, those are the demons that stay with Johnny
when Johnny was looking at the picture of Kreese I wanted hem to punch it and going all, *PUNCH IT PUNCH IT PUNCH IT*
Just like Kenny is the new black Hawk demon
These two have changed so much.

How ironic that Hawk has now joined forces with miyagi-do, and that Robbie is now in Cobra Kai.
Yeah but Hawk becames Calm and Robby becames Angered, Tempered and Aggressive.
Yes Which is why it's ironic
And now teammates again
When he jumped on the stage I GOT HYPED!!!!
1:44 omg foreshadowing to the event of season 4!
Bro u cant do it like that fr XD 😂😂😂😂
Savage
The whole talk Daniel has with Robby in this scene is sad to watch, considering what happens at the end of season 3.
omg yesss :((
"And your dad, had the worst teacher there ever was. It sent him down a wrong path. But you don't have to go down that path. Do you understand? You don't have to ever become him."
Oh the turntables........
3:15 “I know I never will” *fast forwarding to S5* they’re basically best friends now. 😂
True at that point, but now things have become strained between them again. I hope by the end, they are able to reconcile. After all they’ve been through together, it would be upsetting to end things that way.
After watching Cobra Kai, I realized something-
Hawk is actually a pretty amazing martial artist in this. I mean, he went up against the top of the top (Robby for example) and was doing well, up until the end. It was then that he got frustrated. I have a feeling that him getting frustrated is what really fucks him over in the end. He is quite the guy, but when it comes to him and his emotions, he can't control himself.
I think he was the better fighter than Robby at that point.
He is for sure
Under Johnny’s cobra Kai (well now, Eagle Fang) I’d say he’s the second best fighter after Miguel
@@lethumthiyane5245 I think he's even better after Miguel's injury
He did beat Robby in season 4
3:47, the moment when Johnny sees himself becoming Kreese, that's powerful!
I'm so glad Robby got a haircut the last 2 seasons.
Robby fixed that haircut himself in season 4
Yeah and hawk let him score one lucky point and that was his last
@@profchaos91 Robby learned his lesson tho hopefully he leaves cobra Kai in season 5
@@landon8987 i think johnny Miguel and robby's plotline will be a little deeper and maybe a bit detached fron the whole karate feud next season.
I would be absolutely excited fot Miguel and robby to become an actual tag team and save the myagi dos in the final episode tho
@@profchaos91 yea that would be awesome
And his own.
1:53 That guy behind Daniel just laugh xD
Hawk would have probably won if he never got mad when robby called his haircut stupid
Nah Robby would still because the writers wrote him to win
His downfall is he is a hothead and reacts at the heat of the moment
Nah, the second Robby focuses it’s pretty much over for hawk. Anyways robby destroyed hawk in season 2. In the mall
@@oddestdylan yeah but robby only wins due to plot same how in Karate kid daniel only wins because of plot im sure in a real fight Hawk would win as he has more training
@@organicflayer6629 Robby even beat Miguel technically in season 2. Plus now hawk got jealous Bc everybody in cobra kai liked Robby more. Robby is definitely gonna be even stronger next season
0:09 I can’t be the only one who got hyped when the music matched with his landing on the Mat
Did you know Jacob (Hawk) wasn’t told to do that he just help like that’s what his character would do and it was perfect
2:11 i like how Miguel is annoyed at Hawk for fighting dirty but he does that later himself to Robby by targeting his shoulder 🤦♂️ Hawk assisted him in a way.
Ikr 🤦♂️
He was angry about Sam and he took it out on Robby
Well he was not wrong in targeting the shoulder....they are in a competitive tournament...besides the illegal move, nothing was wrong in miguel targeting robbie arm....
@@carboncompounds9377 it’s still dirty
@@bbp2930 yeah...I admit the illegal moves were wrong but targeting the shoulder was nothing wrong...I mean if you play a soccer game and you know that your opponent team has a player completely unskilled wouldn't you pass the ball to the players near him since he's a noob?
Their rematch was amazing as hell.
4:22 👏MEDIC!!! Is there a medic!
When your health is low on Team Fortress 2
My poor baby :(
I wonder why hawk got his ass kicked so many times in season 2 ? Like he was so freakin’ epic in the competition and all against robby...
He did nothing epic against Robby.
Plot
If Robby actually found Hawk's weakness he would have said, "If your arms were any skinnier, they'd be invisible."
@@foehawk-od4cc hawk wouldn’t give a crap about his 2inch arms he’d probably stuff them down robby’s throat somehow. Op’s comment about the hawk bring his weakness is right
0:09 Badass intro on stage! With badass music to!
That was hilarious at the end. Doing the myagi hand rubbing technique. But nope that wasn't going to work for him lol.
From the “ONE POINT HAWK” *EEEEE* to Larusso saying that line so weird “Rememba whatya learned Robbyy” this scene is just awesome 😂
Who’s here after their big rematch in season 4?
Me!!!
Hahaha i love the hawk sound effect when he scored a point
Who's here after watching the showdown of Hawk/Eli vs Robby in Season 4?
It's incredibly awesome to see just how far these 2 characters have come
I am here for sure fight growth right here forsure .
He didn't need that stupid haircut, anyway.
Man, Hawk had that in the bag if he hadn't done that illegal shit.
Definitely curious to see how they handle him next season.
Probably going to be all over Kreese next season when/if Kreese takes over and approves of the "No Mercy" methods that Hawk is enforcing for Cobra Kai.
I'd like to see a rematch
the jay he got frustrated because even after he got a bad ass haircut someone still bullied him you prolly don't know how that feels like
Let’s not forget Robbie insulted him
Hawk got that haircut because he wanted to show that he could be more than that little dweeb, then Robby insulted him over it so yeah he got mad
1:45 "Leaving early to fix that stupid haircut" 3 seasons later Robby did it himself lmao.
U mean a Season later
@@TheLuthorri this was season 1, he “fixed” his hair in season 4, that’s what he meant when he said 3 seasons later, 1+3=4.
“Fine, I’ll fix it myself”
Robby also gets rid of his ponytail.
Robby did fix that haircut
LMFAO!!
I'm just coming back to watch their first fight compared to their last fight in season 4. Great character development really.
Watching this and their fight in Season 4 back to back is such a mindfuck.
Their rematch was 10 times better lol. But this still good tho
Season 1; one cobra vs a bonsai
Season 4; a cobra in a bonsai vs a bonsai grown from a cobra
Hawk: Jumps on mat
Robby: 0:09 Why do I hear boss music?
i like how in one year they both completely switched dojos
I got to say comparing this to Robby vs Eli season 4 is like night and day , both of their acting and fighting have improved substantially
Not sure why everyone is suprised hawk won Miguel is still recovering and this fight shows hawk is as good as robby minus the cheap shot
bro robby and hawk obviously admire each other now... best fight of the series
Robby can’t handle aggression fighting aggressive himself he’s better at defense and Hawk took his experience from being in cobra Kai and now Miagi Dojo and combined both to beat Robby
Had to rewatch this after season 4, you are right... Hawk might have won if he didn't get disqualified. The writing on this series is brilliant.
@@ReiviewTV got destroyed at the mall fight tho

Unlike the other kids who made fun of Eli's lip, Robby insults his hair. Something he can control.
Robby is in no place to be calling hawks haircut stupid when he looks like Betty brant😂
I've gotten so used to his red mohawk XD It's weird seeing the blue one again.
I hope it gets green but the trailer shows red so I'm sad
I like his blue mohawk
And then you barely see the purple Mohawk 🤣🤣🤣
@@memecliparchives2254 so i see you do not like sam, and yea sam is the worst.
@@memecliparchives2254 also thats not true, that was not even implied in the comment what do you mean thats the thing, he just said that this is who daniel is, he motivates, he teaches.

@@memecliparchives2254 you are defending tory like... Really ? She is like the worst of them all lol
The writers are trying to make Robby the good guy. Trying so hard.
@@majone1231 Daniel needs to ally with Johnny to find Robby, before it's too late!
“Leaving early to fix that stupid haircut?”
Cuts Hawks hair off in season 4
Robby in Season 4: “Fine, I’ll fix if myself.”
And also fixed his long one too, is was stupid as well
The way Miguel pushed Hawk really expresses their strong bond
Lol 1:43 "Why leaving early to fix that stupid haircut", oh my god that kid has my respect in this scene.
Lol
The haircut was the foundation of Eli's new personality, so the insult hit him deep at the core.
1:51 thats what happend!
He didn’t have the best haircut either
And guess what he got seconds later? Lmao
this scene hits different after season 4
2:10 this is the first time that I noticed but Miguel got angry at Hawk for that, just shows that he is a true sportsman deep inside
They were angry in s2 too
Miguel attacked Robby's shoulder and yanked his hand when Robby was helping him get up.
Yeah what a great sportsmanship from Miguel
This was a most interesting turn of events: first of all it took Johnny's own flesh and blood to get hurt by such dirty tactics that he employed to get him to reconsider his ways (at least for the time); secondly the student's (mainly both Hawk and Miguel) really embodied the spirit of Cobra Kai (no mercy and ruthless aggression) in a way that was next level in this tournament.
Ngl that first point for hawk was fucking clean
My my. How the tables have turned.
0:03 I didn’t know Joe Biden is Cobra Kai lol

Mr Miagi showed Daniel how to kick ass but never the rubbing hands technique?
Came after S4. My boy hawk had great development
I was hoping he knew how to do the hand thing but when he yelled for a medic I was so upset
After seeing this, Robby giving Hawk that haircut served him right.
How dare you 😢
Yeah. I was happy seeing that scene. Lol
Cobra Kai has a really good formula. 10 eps per season leaving little room for filler (though I wish there were a few more, cause there was potential), the throwbacks, the characters’ individual stories, even the humor. I love Cobra Kai and now I need to start it again
POV: Your watching this after season 4 and amazed at how much Hawk has developed
I like how even though Daniel says here that he'll never like Johnny, they did manage to bond, however briefly. If like is out of the question, maybe respect has a chance.

I'm guessing he was walking back to the "line". Although there was no literal "line" on the mat to mark where you're supposed to stand, both fighters go back behind the line after each round. Admittedly he was walking way too far off.
