    Thanks ever so, Connects2. Not only do you seem to provide the only video on TH-cam showing how to remove the head unit from a MK9 Civic, but when I rang them to query how to remove the panel under the steering column, the service department were EXTREMELY helpful. (Its held in with clips, I found gentle levering from the lower corners releases it.)

    Hey. I have the Honda Civic MK9 UK with the full display, I think it’s the Honda connect system. Would it be possible to install in that vehicle? I was thinking of a double din with Apple CarPlay and was wondering if I could retain the USB and the rear camera and have the aftermarket system?
    Thank you.

    Hi, i have a honda civic 2015 elegance, it has the same radio from the video, i took it to media mark to install a new radio and they say that they cant change nothing because if you change it the computer of the car will shut off and only honda is the only one that can restart it ! Is it true?

    • @Connects2Uk
      @Connects2Uk  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey +jesus rodriguez,
      I wouldn't really listen to him, its evidently not happened to us per the video, and we have since taken apart other Honda's for testing with none of that nonsense happening. The only thing i can think of that sounds close to what he was on about is when you leave the key in the ignition (or on the dash) for an elapsed amount of time, then it goes into 'theft mode' and shuts the car down, but again, that has only happened to us once and that was a Mercedes (in the end we got Mercedes down, they plugged their software in, two minutes later he was on his way with the car back in action!) That guy obviously didn't want to work on you car aha!
      If you are interested in the product just be wary that your dash set up needs to be like the 2014 on the video where the fans are above the radio, if they are located on either side then the fit won't work for obvious reasons

      the CTSHO005.2 interface that comes with this kit is wired for the standard Civic and doesn't retain the bluetooth. For civic's with the bluetooth module, you would want the CTSHO006.2, you can read more into it here: www.connects2.co.uk/Product/ProductItem/CTSHO006.2

I presume that, with the kit you linked, the wiring harness itself is the same, but the mounting fascia is what's different (for LHD v. RHD)? I just ask because the US Civic has a different center console altogether, so I will just buy the harness from you guys and get the mounting kit locally, in the States.

    which headunit is this and what inch? how do i connect the original microphone in the roof to the headunit for handsfree with steering controls

    • @Connects2Uk
      @Connects2Uk  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi swezpingo,
      The head unit in this video is the Pioneer AVIC-F900BT with 5.8 inch display.
      In regards to the original microphone, you wouldn't be able to carry it across if updating your head unit.
      The factory handsfree mic will be tuned for optimal performance with the factory kit, any aftermarket products that feature handsfree will normally be supplied with a dedicated mic that will have there own specific connection.
      C2

    • @swezpingo
      @swezpingo 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Connects2 Thanks for a quick answer, I've never done this before on a car with steering wheel buttons. So what you are saying is that the original microphone is unplugged/useless if I change the head unit. If I go for a Pioneer Head unit will a 6.2 or 7 inch fit aswell?, Would I need to buy a separate mic to the headunit? If so will the steering wheel controls för handsfree still work? And what about the Aux and Usb port under the armrest?
      I want to know what i need for everything to work if I buy aPioneer AVH-X3700DAB, The most important part is the steeringwheel controls with the handsfree+mic, but it would be nice if the old usb and aux would work to.

    • @Connects2Uk
      @Connects2Uk  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey swezpingo,
      yes, in any case, changing the head unit will always leave the original microphone redundant because it will come with its own dependent mic, or in some cases (like sony) have them built in.
      The screen size should work fine, we produce all of our facia's to fit the double din standards of most radios (apart from some Chinese apparently because size matters lol), but the measurements that can be installed will be 172mmx98mm, so i suggest you check the radios actual screen size (including the plastic rim).
      Also the steering wheel controls will work with our loom connectors, the aux and usb will not unfortunately, the loom doesn't have the connector capacity. With that i'd suggest you could look into an external USB drive which could be patched into the loom, or in most cases now, the head unit would have a usb/SD/aux port anyway.
      So if you would want to go for what we supply, then i would check out our dealers page and find a local dealership (or simply at online shops) and search for the CTKHD06 kit (or CTKHD06L if you have left hand drive) and a patch lead for the head unit.
      Or if you wanted to break it up (whether people do cheaper deals) you would wanna look for the CT23HD25 facia, CTSHO005.2 loom, and again the patch lead.
      Hope this helps
      C2

    Gentlemen, are there any differences between the CTKHD06 kit harness included compared to the CTSHO006.2? Pictures does not look exactly same. Are the functions same. Trying to put together an order for my Honda Civic Tourer 2014 and possibly a Pioneer 1 din receiver (+a tray in the second din)

    • @Connects2Uk
      @Connects2Uk  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey +Jaan Pödra,
      Within the HD06 kit is the CTSHO005.2 which is OEM specific, the CTSHO006.2 isn't OEM specific, but will only work if your vehicle's OEM didn't have navigation and wasn't amplified. More information on the 6.2 can be seen here: www.connects2.co.uk/ProductInformation.aspx?id=19162
      The main difference between the two is that the 6.2 has an extra Bluetooth phone button support adapter.

      Hey +Jaan Pödra,
      On the second point, yes,
      On the first, the 005.2 will retain only the steering wheel volume, track, mode etc buttons, it won't retain the phone buttons.

      +Jaan Pödra Fine, installed the 000.62 together with new facia, all of your brand. Works fine but have a few things to ask about
      The car is Honda Tourer 2014 (european) w/o navi or extra amp.
      HU is Pioneer AVH-X5700DAB
      - Original steering wheel buttons do not work. Phone via Bluetooth in HU works. When I ordered all things i ticked "Pioneer lead". Received "Pioneer/Sony " lead of your brand. Is that a problem? If not, please give me a hint where to look.
      - What connector is to be used for the extra USB outlet supplied with the"....006.2"? There is a original center USB close to shift lever in the box. To be honest, I have not looked under there apart from the parking brake connection which is connected.
      Best regards,
