I too book rooms without views. The couple of times I paid for a room with view was Lake Louise and they gave me a tiny weenie window to look out. When I made a video about it a lot of viewers gave me hate lol. The other time was Rimrock in Banff and of all days it was foggy and I couldn't see anything out the window 😓. Now I am just going to opt out of the room with views and save the money.
Yes! SAVE your € for a viewless comfy room! When visiting 🇨🇦 @ Lake Louise, my daughter & I were assigned a "viewless" room at the grand CHATEAU LAKE LOUISE ! But, we spent a rewarding happy time OUTSIDE of our room. A visitor usually looks for adventurous activities and satisfying meals. The latter makes a "happy camper 🎉!
I'm an American born in Terceira. .I never considered seeing these islands you visited. .but your adventures are impressive. Love the views. So do you have family there or you visiting? Hope to see more of your adventures in the azores.
Just visiting! It was one of the few places that was completely safe to travel during the pandemic, with a great testing-on-arrival program, so I jumped at the chance. I had planned to go in summer, but hesitated - and I wish I wouldn't have, as the weather was a bit foul in November (but I still had a good time!)
@@DrifterDave makes me wonder. Would you ever consider visiting the Faroe Islands of Denmark? I think they are slightly above Scotland. They look like a different flavor/culture of the Azores. Love seeing your adventures. :)
@@palmtrees89 Thanks for watching & for your support of the channel! I would love to visit the Faroe Islands - eventually, I plan to take the ferry from Iceland to Torshavn and onward to Denmark 👍 The Faroes look incredible.
Unfortunately you get the COVID time. Almost everything was closed at Horta. In a none covid time you easily gets taxis. And the row have much, but really much more life. Better times will come. Horta have all that wall because it was a protection for piracy, and historic situations happened in Horta harbour, like a submarine fight in WW2. Transatlantic flight, etc… Horta was the most Azorean cosmopolitan tow in the beginning of XIX century to the beginning of the XX. Faial island have Also a great caldeira volcano and the most recent inland volcano of the Azores, the Capelinhos Volcano, among other things of course :)
following you from the start. ilove your vlogs. I'm glad that your content ıs thriving every single day..

Exactly! I'm not opposed to a nice view, but I certainly won't pay extra for it 😂

I look forward to returning to Horta once the world returns to normal! I would love to see more of the island of Faial 🇵🇹
Don't go Faial, don't go to the Azores, Period, if you don't want to see the most beautiful place on Earth.
Agreed! It is a shame that more people haven’t yet discovered one of Earth’s greatest treasures.
