Amazing Video, Sao miguel is my home country i went there this summer for 1 month and now this year im going for 3 months the hole summer with my family and i really enjoy, spearfishing, fishing. its a really like place for people who love nature, the sea
Amazing man! Being a local, its fantastic so see that people from other points of the planet enjoy so much our island and our archipelago. Great Video. Keep up!
Last year your video randomly popped up after a video I was watching. I'm so glad it did as ive just got back from my first visit to the azores and its incredibly even in winter. Don't know if we were lucky but the weather was perfect the whole week. Spent 2 days at furnas and was completely blown away how stunning and unique it is. Thank you
Ryanair once a week from Stansted - direct about 4 hours and cheap … this island is paradise on earth, if you like hiking, it looks like Ireland, Derbyshire & the Lake District all rolled into one .. I’ve been there 6 times now and this island just does not stop giving…
Great video! Azores is still underrated destination. Sao Miguel offer so much, and outside of this itinerary I think discovering the hikes and waterfalls around the more remote east side is a must, as well as go diving, which you can do even around Ponta Delgada.
I’m in taverna açor as we speak, eating the pork and pineapple bruschetta. Can confirm it is very nice. I asked the waiter who confirmed that the jam is made from pineapples grown on the island. Thanks for the recommendation!
Lovely! As a local, I felt really proud that you enjoyed staying here. One thing I wanna point is places order, it's an island and you get relatively fast wherever you want to go, but it's more convenient to visit someparts in some days (for eg visiting the north in some days and the rest of days south) than going around from one tip to another. I'm pointing out this, because alot of people will come to the island with the ilusion that everything is like 10min away. Don't do it on the order of the video especially if you don't get a rental car for yourself. Also don't expect to have Dubai weather every day around here, the weather can be a b%tch and change alot ahah, be prepared :P Cheers!
I was thinking about buying a mountain bike, and using that as a form of travel while on the Azores Islands. As a local, do you have any thoughts on this? Is there a place to buy second-hand bikes?
Awesome video! That was almost the perfect way to visit S. Miguel, think you just miss 4 things: Lagoa do congro and the hike is also nice; Mosteiros Beach - you get huge shots from the black sand beach to the green/dark stone imponent hill, its exceptional when a little foggy; without a doubt Galego restaurant has the best and classic beef in açores; and Saca rolhas restaurant also a place to go but little expensive.
Sooo what a weird coincidence, just scroling and finding your vid reveals that Im the guy that pick your voucher in Terra Nostra xD. Also Lidia goes there soo many times and she is awesome . Got yourself a new subscriber love the vid
Just got back from a week on Sao Miguel - your video definitely helped with the landmarks, especially the abandoned hotel which was amazing. Unfortunately there was a bacteria in the water's and all the caldeiras were closed and being cleaned but we still enjoyed the island.
There are direct flights from London to the Azores. if fact British Airways has a flight that goes to the second largest of Terceira . Ryan air I believe flies directly to the Azores. The Azores about 20-years ago was ignored or not many people bothered to see it's stunning beauty. My girlfriend and extended our stay from 5-days to four weeks. Beautiful beyond words.
🤗 I'm just back from my first 5 day visit and, already planning my next visit...9 wonderful islands sure can't be seen in just 5 days - 5 weeks seem more realistic!! PS. I flew Ryanair via Lisbon from Dublin!
My husband and I get in our car rental and travel the whole island . We never have a set place to go we just say let’s go this way today. We have visited many of the places you have shown here. The cosido is delicious! I will be setting up some of the tours on the app “get your guide” I just downloaded it , like the jeep tour and whale watching it’s definitely something my husband and I wanted to try. I love traveling to São Miguel. Mosteiros is where I always stay. They have a wonder natural pool ( Poço da Pedra ) that is so beautiful, and our family is there.
Thank you for your incredible guide. I was in the azores with my sister and we checked out many of your ideas and ate at the same restaurants. Just an incredible place to visit and you made the research part with this video so much easier and faster 🙌🏼
I lived in sao miguel for 25 years, and you need a life time to discover all its beauty, one of the last jobs I did as a contractor in the island has renovate the terra Nostra hotel , lots of good memories
Amazing!! 🤩 was born and raised in São Miguel! Happy you explored it and enjoyed 😍 the Azores is filled with surprise boxes! ☺️☺️☺️ there are direct flights from Stanstead with Ryanair every Saturday 😏😏
HI! First of all, congratulations for the beautiful video! I wanted to ask if it gets dark very early at the end of October and how did you find it regarding safety/crime? Is it safe to go alone on the trails?
Not safe be alone in trails, nobody will hurt you, but you can hurt yourself (like fall or break some bone), we have some missing tourists here, and some fatal incidents :( dont go alone!! you can go hiking in groups
Such a big fan from your videos. Great video Matt as always! I planned to visit the Azores in 2024, which carhire company do you recommend for the Azores?
Your videos are always so high-energy- I love them. I recently went to my first Azorean island (Terceira) 2 weeks ago and loved it so much. I’m looking forward to visiting /experiencing the others. 🙂

Hi, Enjoyed the video and all the great suggestions. I tried to book the walking tour but there's no availability. Is there a way of connecting with Lydia to arrange a tour? Thanks in advance for your help!
Great video. Well done. My wife and I are living here temporarily and you’ve really captured the place! One thing though - there are direct flights from London and several other European and US cities. Take care!
To be very honest, after seeing you I really thought I wasn't going to like or watch much further (Tik Tok looking presenter) However. you really delivered the video well, good editing, funny, and informative. Great guide, subscribed and really looking forward to viewing more. Never judge a book by its cover, well done Matt, well done!
Love this and will be a great help for many visiting these islands, will get this on my blog as it will be a great help for many of us living on the island and to plan a visit. 😊❤️😊

It’s so entertaining and informative and all the places you visited are on my bucket list just because of you. Especially Madeira. Which was the thing giving me total peace thanks to your vlog back then.
