As a city fan to me milner as much apart of the success we had while he was there I have not bitterness towards milner like I don't towards any ex blue if you wear the shirt any show passion you'll forever have my respect whatever you go on to do
I think the resentment set in because he was so loved and a fan favourite. I personally have never disliked him since, but that celebration hurt as it felt like my ex fave played didn't give a damn about us at the time. The fans definitely appreciated and loved him (well where I sit in the stadium definitely). My Father and I were perplexed when they considered letting him go. At the time we felt Pelligrini and co were making a blunder. His work ethic was mega and he was an underrated baller due to the star-studded line up next to him. I'm glad people recognised how good he truly was at Liverpool. City, back in 2015, were a better team with him in it, imo.
Brilliant having him with Lallana at Brighton. A +ive role model to bring so many youngsters on instilling in them what it actually takes when smoke is being blown up their A!!
This is the first time hearing about James’ reasoning behind celebrating after all these years of not hearing an explanation. The wise thing to do would have been to decide before the game that, out of the respect of the fans, that you would not over celebrate when you scored at the Etihad with your fist to all the fans, just like you had pre meditated your celebration with your Liverpool squad. It hurt the fans because we loved you James so it was hard to take and still was without an explanation. I feel the fans were owed this explanation a long time ago. Perhaps you gave it somewhere that I’ve not read. Fair enough in which case.
He'd have been great under Pep and won a shed load more. City fans have resentment towards him as other players have left on good terms, left farewell message etc Milner didn't which is why he got booed on his return.
His performance in city shirt was impressive, but since joining the drama queens, his attitude has deteriorated. I recall him prolonging contract negotiations due to promises from the loserballs for a hefty signing bonuses and an extravagant weekly salary of 250k, surpassing even KDB's earnings at that time. It seems he perceives conversations here as talking to a fish, given the comments here 🐟🐠🐳

What a career he's had. Fair play to him.
He joined a terrible Liverpool side too, not an easy change. He helped make Liverpool the team they became.
City fan, big mistake letting him go Liverpool had the best of him.
Greedy Milner was just a squad player and didn’t win much at Liverpool.
@@robertmclellan3658Am sure he literally won everything with them.
@@yodacleghorne1098 Never won best club in the world did he?

He went from 65k a week to 40k, i don't know how he survived
It's alot of money but it's about knowing your worth and not getting the piss taking out of you.
Would you willingly take a 40% pay cut?
A real professional in every aspect of his career. So underrated, a much better player than Pogba the rapper ever was
Players come and go all the time. I can't think of one ex City player I dislike. Milner was great at City. Top lad.

People being angry at people celebrating a freaking goal needs to grow up, it’s absolutely embarrassing
what do you expect from typical city fans
@@nabylad2194At least he didn’t get death threats
Wish he was at Liverpool still. Boss mentality.

“It’s a tough one really, it’s not nice knowing you’re going to upset 12 people, but…”
“…what was the question again?”
You aren’t owed jack
The trend of players not celebrating when scoring against ex clubs is fucking pathetic. He doesn’t need to explain anything.
@@RoyJoyce873The question is, are you really that stupid?
Etihad? Ummm, nope.
It’s hard not to like and respect Milner the model professional.
Greedy sod

He was good at Newcastle, we shouldn’t have sold him, Ashley lost Keegan on that deal!
Comment below - Should James Milner have stayed at Manchester City?
