Aww, I love A&W root beer and DrPepper! Pop Rocks are so fun to eat- a friend and I once brought a few bags of them to church and sat in the back giggling as we ate the noisy candy. Funyuns were a fave snack as a teen. Once right before class started, I passed out the strong smelling snack to every student in our choir, to which our choir teacher was not thrilled about during vocal warmups 😂 Corn Nuts are the Best! Try the BBQ ones sometime! 👍 Rice Krispies treats are definitely much better tasting if you make them yourself. 👏

I know personally many kids who have major issues (saw the reactions myself) when they eat red 40 and I know many other parents who’s kids don’t have a major reaction yet the parents won’t let them consume it. Dr. Pepper reminds me of Root Beer a bit in flavor, it has notes of sarsaparilla, anise, cardamom, ginger, birch, blackberry, molasses etc. They are spices common in herbal medicines, they do create a tingling sensation (I'm sure there's a name for it) which may be what makes you want more, even if it's not initial a pleasant taste. Most Europeans I've met do NOT like root beer, either....lol...he just got to the root beer. It's the synthetic sarsaparilla flavor in root beer. The real sarsaparilla root is actually carcinogen, so it's not used anymore.
