Dumpster Diving to Rescue Toys, Clothes, & Collectables from the Landfill!

- Hi everybody and welcome back to my dumpster diving channel! I hit a couple rough patches along the way today.. like somehow dropping my phone into the truck door.. LOL! But it was worth it to save all of these usable items from a life in the landfill. I am also really excited about spotting a curb alert while driving - the Three Stooges dolls and kid toys were a highlight of this trip for sure! :D

Drive your truck right next to the dumpster and stand in bed to look into it. Then you are loading the truck as you find new stuff

If I had a pickup that's what I'd do! I have backed my car up to dumpsters so I could stand on my bumper to reach inside.
Melissa and Doug is a great name brand toy and they're not cheap... I would've grabbed all the toys and donated it all...
Amy and family : I just bought some toys from Melisa and Doug for my grandchildren, it is a very good brand and it is well made.
Lol items also are very popular now! Melissa and Doug toys are excellent quality toys also

Oh my gosh! This Grandma was going crazy about all the toys you left behind! My 3 year old Granddaughter would have been excited over the LOL stuff, Moana dolls, Melissa and Doug doll...all those other cute things! I would have cleaned and sanitized them up and had little surprises to give her every time she came over! 🤗 Enjoyed the video...thanks for sharing! Also bring an empty plastic tote or two to hold things when you don't have boxes handy..
Dawn Dishsoap does an amazing job on stains.Use a hard bristled toothbrush to work out the stain.
You can always throw the stuffed toys in the washer on a delicate cycle then tumble dry on low setting.
If you are concerned about lice on stuffed toys, put them in a PLASTIC BAG with NO HOLES! SEAL IT COMPLETELY and LEAVE for TWO WEEKS to kill lice and nits (eggs). You may also leave it outside in a bright sunny area to increase the temperature in the bag to ensure total kill.
It isn't that you just help the environment it is the special care of the great things you work so hard to obtain. Thank you for all you do.

And Amazon. So they are found all over at a range of stores but indeed they are quality toys AND fun ones too...like someone really put some effort into the design and also the use.

The red thing at 10:54 you we’re unsure of..... its a cat treat gun. I own one. You fill with cat treats and pull the trigger. It shoots the treat across the room and the cat chases after them. Our cat loves it.

You should do some research on popular toy brands. 💛💛 You left behind Little People, a Lalaloopsy doll, the LOL Surprise stuff, some Disney toys (the Tinkerbell toy and a princess doll), etc. You could sell them at your next yard sale or donate them. ♥️♥️ Good luck and love your channel!!

You have a truck now, so you should get some ratchet straps to secure things in.
In that one dumpster near the end there were some bungee cords, they are great for securing loads too!

The LOL, Shopkins and Lalaloopsa stuff is very current and should sell well. And they are small this less expensive to ship. Old Fisher-Price toys do well even when missing parts. Even the parts themselves do well! You are such a good person for rescuing all those usable things!!
I remember years ago are used to dumpster dive I sure do miss it I love watching your shows sweetie I really love it when you find something that you really like and get excited God bless and take care

If you find bungie cords you should save them to put in the truck bed. You might need to secure a chair, or something, and they're really handy to have.
Not completely sure but it seems anything marked "LOL" is really really hot right now. Might check it out.

Fisher Price’s “Little People” toys have a great resell value. There was a ferris wheel (Circa 1997) in the first box! For next time :) Hopefully a family comes by!
We have that ferris wheel! I have kept all my kid's Little People toys for future grandchildren.
My sister laments the loss of her Little People Treehouse with the swing....25 years later....😆😜

Stuffed animals can be thrown in the washer and dried in the dryer. I do it a lot with my grandkids stuffed toys. Unless they have battery cases in them. And even then, you might be able to take those cases out in order to wash the stuffed toy.
I finally got to go diving 2 days ago!
Just a small ulta dive and some boxes because I'm diving but I was happy!
I hope where I move has good diving locations!

Kelly it’s super easy to cut the legs to match on the bunk bed latter. I can see it painted with white chalkboard paint. So cute! I hope your day gets really happy. You have so much to be thankful for. Your smart and pretty . And you have pilgrim to give hugs.

Your such a trooper, I am not motivated to go out and dumpster dive when its so hot out. When its cooler weather I'll go dive again. I don't know how you do it and still be so cheerful despite the heat. Give Pilgrim a hug from me, Woody, and Golda.
Probably have said before...carry a cooler for food and a bin to collect things in. So much easier and quicker too. Mwah, hope Pilgrim feels better soonest💚

I bet those hyper creepy moe and curly are worth a lot! Some guys are 3 stooges fanatics and collectors! The deep pan is great for Turkey or chicken adding vegetables.
The three stooges dolls are Moe and Larry, Curly was the heavy set bald guy. Great finds today! I wish I lived in a city instead of this tiny town (everyone knows me and there aren't many places to dive). If I lived in or near a city I would be knee deep in a dumpster right now!
That ladder!!!! You could saw the legs to make them even, sand it, repaint it to look distressed and make it into a home decor piece.
I would have taken the ladder to it would have been easy to cut that part off

Metal Tonka trucks etc are collectible and good money,even of rusty
i can't believe she left that either! She kept the $1 blow up things that go around a kids arms while in a pool but left that tonka behind! It was metal too, not plastic. That tonka could have sold anywhere from $20 to @ $80 depending on when it was made!

Way to pull yourself out of the dumps & forge on. I know you've mentioned having periods of struggling with depression & as someone who deals with that too I know an incident like what happened with your phone sometimes makes that blanket of tired slowly covering me feeling start. I'm glad you decided to just go forward & finish your diving day

The first box of toys you looked in there was a lalaloopsy doll. They are expensive.
Hi Kelly!!! I have two old pillowcases that I use to wash stuffed/plush toys in, put the toy in the pillowcase and put a thick rubber band around it to tie it off. Wash these in cold water with your detergent and add a cup of white vinegar (good disinfectant and softens too). After that lay the toys on a clean old towel to dry. Love you lots and watch your channel all the time!!!!

My kids had that little drum you found at the rental! It was a really cute set from Target, had a bunch of baby instruments inside.

You can take the little filters out of the glade plugin refills and pour the oil into your warmer. I do it all the time. It gives your home a great smell all over instead of just where it's plugged in. 🤗🤗
