    Your "donate" clothing find reminds me of a funny story. When I was first dating my boyfriend he took me to a spot he used to go fishing in high school. We found several trash bags of nice clothes and shoes that fit both me and my daughter, out by the bayou, dumped. We kept some and donated the rest. A few months later we were visiting an old friend of his and his wife noticed my shoes and said her oldest used to have some but outgrew them. We later realized that the bags we found were actually left there by her husband who was supposed to donate them but went fishing instead. We never have told them about finding it... maybe one of these days! 😆

    • @DianePahl
      @DianePahl 5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I was thinking the same thing (there goes me, lol) or was put into a nursing home. That yarn is great to learn with, but the needles are a find! Don't give them away, learn with them!

    • @DianePahl
      @DianePahl 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      The straight needles are knitting needles, the needles that are attached by a wire are knitting needles also, to knit in the round - like for socks, etc. The Stone Pack looks like needlepoint. What you call fur is rug hooking yarn. The frames are needlepoint frames.

LOL and latch hook kits lol haven't seen those since the day shag rugs stopped selling (but are coming back) LOL When I moved I sold that much stuff at a garage sale and paid for all my gas to go 5 states and my rental deposit and first and last month rent and that was in 1999. • @gayle8153
      @gayle8153 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, or you can look them up online on Fire Mountain Gems to see if any of them are on their site, and see how much they might be worth. A jewelry maker (like me) would happily buy the whole storage box full and possibly do wire wrapping around them for pendants and rings, etc.

    The short threads and the canvas that you show at about 28:40 are for making a latch hook rug. There should be a hook thing with a wooden handle for doing the knots and pulling the threads through. Rug making was popular in the 70's. There are groups on FB for needlepoint and cross stitching that would maybe in interested in the canvases and threads.

One is called soles for souls collecting shoes, another is back packs and suitcases, so they don't have to use trash bags for their personal possessions , which makes them feel like throw aways. I feel like you might like to look into this or know someone in your area who would be interested. Thanks for being so kind hearted!!
