- This is was a BUCKET LIST safari trip. 3 days packed with everything you can dream of when you think Kenyan safari experience.
From the moment we landed on the airstrip in the Maasai Mara this trip had everything we ever wanted and more. About 5 minutes in, we met face to face with lions enjoying the African sun.
Lerai Safari Camp is a very small safari camp in its own conservancy named Olerai, close to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. If you ask us, small camps are ideal as you feel closer to nature and wildlife. In addition to this, small safari camps normally create a more personalized experience.
What made this safari trip the BEST safari trip ever? The answer is all the different experiences and the food of course which was simply unbelievable!
The hot air balloon safari with Hot Air Africa Eco was one of the best experience of our life. A beautiful sunrise, the perfect amount of wind for the hot air ballon to move around and a delicious champagne breakfast in the Maasai Mara wilderness. Perfect safari experience.
Now, game drives are such a fun and unique experience especially for people who did not grow up around giraffes, zebras and other wild animals. But the best way to see these animals is to be on one. Ride Maasai Mara offer horseback riding safaris and this should also be part of your bucket list safari trip as it offer such a different perceptive.
Overall, this was the best safari package we have ever experienced and we cannot recommend Lerai Safari Camp enough!

It’s hard to imagine that Dave and Tracie were born in Canada. Their passion for conservation in one of the world’s last frontier is unreal. They allow us TO GLIMPSE, IF ONLY FOR A MOMENT, A WIRKD THAT EXISTED BEFORE HUMANS ASSERTED THEIR DOMINANCE. This young couple is a BLESSING FOR KENYA.

Quite interesting to find out that David is an RCMP officer. Wonder if Tracy will have to resit nursing license after being out for a long period, although it's possible to volunteer at a hospital like Aga Khan that is mostly ran by Canadian licensed people and keep it active.

I was the sous Chef at Samburu larsens luxury tented Camp before I left for the States about 24yrs ago.It wàs under block hotels and resorts Management (now out of business).
I remember going to that same hotel its a really good place
