This man is off the scale.. Where he gotta from.. Flick the coin.. The mostest all-rounder I ever got the privilege of hearing/n seeing.. He's contemporaries are "jinnyjos" in comparison.. Bloke has a tune/song for evrybody in the audience.. Beat that... Don't think so....
For me it was like a revelation when I first watched it over satellite in Sweden back in the early 90's. One of the best songs ever written and the great Rodney's beautiful vocals.
I remember, 30 plus years ago, lucking into a show on Canadian TV, late on a weekend night, of Rodney, Roseanne Cash, and Albert Lee talking and playing music, kind of a studio situation ,( perhaps in Daniel Lanois' Hamilton studio? ). It was such a wonderful find.
Exact. It's a Rodney's composition but he made it in 1979 for the Emmylou's album "Blue Kentucky Girl" at a time where he was memeber of the Hot Band (Baking vocal and accoustic guitar)
Luv this vid. wow, Rodney gets into it. also the back up band. great Pedal steel player really amazing. Maybe Steve Fishell, Hank DeVito, Tommy Spurlock.....all superb steelers. mos60
@Rodney Croswell Hey Rodney, thanks for the kind and unexpected reply! Can I ask a huge request? If you get this reply, can you please let us fans know? Thanks a bunch KR
I played the Emmylou Harris version of this song on stage for about 5 years. My first listen to RC's recording makes me love the song in a brand new way.
I’m not sure guts is the word I’d use. But I noticed the animals seem to consciously avoid kicking the fallen rider - which would be very painful and damaging - so they seem to know it’s just a game !!!
+John Jackson yeah, and takes advantage of woman. Usually, lets them buy the drinks. Then moves on to the next table. Oh yeah, I've meet too many such dudes. cheers. There's one in every crowd. mos60
Yes they did. It went to #35 on the country music charts in 1986 from that album and Emmylou Harris did it in the 70's too. All their versions are great.👍🎸🎶🎵🎼
CAN'T , IT WAS BROUGHT HOME HOME TO MEE. THINK ALL THE GIRLS GOT EDUCATED TODAY !!!!!!! IF I WOULD TAKE ANYONE, IT WOULD BE CAROLL !!!!!!! THINK HE WOULD BE UNDERSTANDING !!!!!!!

I love this song, and I remember when it came out.
For me it was like a revelation when I first watched it over satellite in Sweden back in the early 90's. One of the best songs ever written and the great Rodney's beautiful vocals.

Really an enjoyable video. Well crafted! I've always had a major crush on Cowgirls!!
I loved this song. It's one of few reasons to love the 90's. Rodney did it the best but also did Emmylou.
+George Tunstill Who is the composer?
Rodney Crowell
Exact. It's a Rodney's composition but he made it in 1979 for the Emmylou's album "Blue Kentucky Girl" at a time where he was memeber of the Hot Band (Baking vocal and accoustic guitar)

Great harmony.

I sat with Emmy Lou's band on a flight out of San Antonio. She's really short!
These ladies have guts (and probably a few broken bones, sprains, etc.).
I’m not sure guts is the word I’d use. But I noticed the animals seem to consciously avoid kicking the fallen rider - which would be very painful and damaging - so they seem to know it’s just a game !!!
Even COWGIRLS Get the Blues ...More Tchan You know!!!
Does anyone know how to get video of the Women's Rodeo competition like in this video ? All I can find is Barrel Racing.
Mary Kay Place rocks this song, no comparisons, just my opinion
Let me ask you this; why would cowgirls be impervious to melancholy, why?
Rounder: a person who frequents bars and is often drunk.
+John Jackson yeah, and takes advantage of woman. Usually, lets them buy the drinks. Then moves on to the next table. Oh yeah, I've meet too many such dudes. cheers. There's one in every crowd. mos60
+John Jackson -- If you frequented a bar and got well drunk, would you risk your neck on one of those bucking broncos perchance??
Ya they sure do I know I have been there
Until now I'd only heard Emmylou Harris' cover of this song.
Didn't Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash do this Song on their album "Heroes?"
Yes they did. It went to #35 on the country music charts in 1986 from that album and Emmylou Harris did it in the 70's too. All their versions are great.👍🎸🎶🎵🎼
Lynn Anderson released a version of this song in 1980 that went to #26
CAN'T , IT WAS BROUGHT HOME HOME TO MEE. THINK ALL THE GIRLS GOT EDUCATED TODAY !!!!!!! IF I WOULD TAKE ANYONE, IT WOULD BE CAROLL !!!!!!! THINK HE WOULD BE UNDERSTANDING !!!!!!!
Great video, but wish they'd included girls bulldogging and barrel racing!
yes...cause we really want to see one direction staring at us while we watch the video...good song though!
Whats a rounder??
One who frequents bars.
Someone who frequents bars, and are usually drunk.
One who makes THE ROUNDS ......
Ted Hobbs, haha, best answer. Sort of like Tomcattin' around.
Get it, Around?
Well around here (Nashville) it can mean mischievous, rough and tough, wild, always into something
