  • Live on CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Canada, Dec 12, 1983. Rodney Crowell, Albert Lee, and Rosanne Cash are also participating.
Rodney Crowell claims to have written “Even Cowgirls Get The Blues” about Harris and her pal Susanna Clark (Guy Clark’s wife, and a songwriter and artist in her own right). “That always made me real proud,” Harris says of the song, which took its title from the then-popular gonzo novel of the same name by author Tom Robbins. Crowell originally intended the song for the movie version of the book, but, as Harris recounts, “The movie rejected the song, and the public rejected the movie.” (Parke Puterbaugh, liner notes to Blue Kentucky Girl album).
Just a reupload of the deleted video, originally uploaded on TH-cam by someone else.

I'm sorry. IDC if Mr. Crowell did create this song. I will always remember it in association with Emmylou Harris' ETHEREAL, WONDERFUL, and MOVING sound and voice. Hearing it from her, always reminds me of how moved I was to hear it for the first time. To me, she just has a soulful, moving, tender yet firm, beautiful, singing voice. Especially, to hear her and Linda together, is nothing but a treat for my ears.

It looks like K D Lang had exclusive rights for the film. What a shame
