    Very entertaining show! First of all, took a little bit of the sting from the EMBARRASSMENT HOME Loss to our crosstown rival. For coach LR, '" if the rule you followed, led you to this, then what good was the rule?"

    Both the USC offense and defense were based on being finesse groups. Nice if you can pull it off, but it's revealing if not. Bring back the power and physicality, then add some finesse.

    Keys for successful program: 1. Good owner (the school president) 2. GM ( Athletic Director) 3. Head coach (Howard Jones, John Mckay / Robinson, Pete Carroll) 4. the QB 5. The trenches: OL /DL. Build it they (recruits) will come. Lots of soul searching and elbow grease to get the USC football program back to glory,

    • @gendaminoru3195
      @gendaminoru3195 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree except the QB priority order. You can win any game without the best QB, but we proved again the best QB cannot win without decent men in the trenches. The QBs first job is to distribute the ball to the athletes and speed demons, and that make s the O hum. And only when that's not possible do you want him down field much. We proved that against Utah last year. No hammy and we win that game. That was just terrible and I fault CLR for allowing him to continue to play, but then painting F-U-C-K U-T-A-H on his fingernails is something I blaem CLR for as well. He also did it again in this ucla disaster we just had.

      Wouldn’t have made a difference this year. Defense wouldn’t have been any better than it is. It takes good players more than good coaching. You can’t win the Kentucky Derby with a plow horse. Just saying.

      @@billyjamison5265 Bull. There's talent there. A lot of it sat on the bench most of the season bc these morons play favorites and can't evaluate talent. Top if off with their inability to develop talent and you have this joke of a season. Real coaches would have done much better.

    Can those with any pull at all at USC please make the football program get rid of the fricken towel waivers on the sidelines? It is such an embarrassment to the school and program.

    • @PhilTParker
      @PhilTParker ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think this comment is correct. I can see why someone dreamed up the idea of adding energy to the sidelines. But this makes USC look even more like a soft team than it already does. Please give those dancing towel guys a participation trophy each, and get them off of our sidelines. Replace them with huge, violent, angry offensive and defensive linemen and then we will be in business, ready for the BIG10.

      The talent is right in our freakin' backyard, as you said! But with coaching like this, results like this, recruiting surely gets trickier! The new DC is really the big piece to the puzzle, have to get that hire right! Lastly, Riley's post game comments are extremely troublesome, completely glossing over how bad this team looks and how far they have to go! Unmitigated disaster, wasting once in a generation QB and now entering Big 10 with NO momentum whatsoever.

    Simple brilliant as always guys. Hilarious humor at the end. My "go to" vlog/podcast for all things SC football.
    One issue in addition to all things already mentioned about the collapse this year and the "no show" for the ucla game was that this team was playing it's 9th consecutive Power 5 game without a bye or cupcake. Thanks PAC 12 schedulers for reaming SC yet again. What other Power 5 team has to do that? Certainly no SEC football team.

    Remember CPC's priorities? This crap didn't happen on his watch, not even at the end when he was tired. Incoming strategy; HC is a defense guy by trade, hire best S&C coach in the land, recruit your rear end off, hire the best OC you can find and the best line coaches in the land. Priorities; #1 take care of the football, #2 be physical-practice hard, #3 preach accountability [assignments- practice team following, [all that buy-in stuff] followed by constant motivation [tackling-fellow player], #4 Finish-Mr. November, 4th Q, play till whistle blows , #5 get people involved open practice - captains - awards- celebs [though I never want Snoop around] whatever to keep the energy going. Do we do any of this now? ANY? CLR doesn't really seem to even have a philosophy after all despite the hype in getting him hired.

    • @treff9226
      @treff9226 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great post - championship teams have a culture that fosters confidence and determination, togetherness and toughness. All the things you mentioned are necessary for consistent excellence ( Alabama, Ohio State ) and we saw what that looked like in years past, with Jones, McKay, Robinson and Carroll and an athletic department that made the right moves, ran efficiently. I'm hoping our highly respected new AD can put her fingerprints on our football program and help lead us back to glory.

    Hey guys I think last year may have been an easier schedule but also there's a kid in Minnesota named Jordan Addison that I feel like made a big difference also in that offense. This years it seems like either the play calling sucks or the WRs can't get open. We didn't have that issue last year and as a rookie we're seeing guys struggling to cover Addison in the NFL. Mario Williams was Caleb's #1 target at OU and he is certainly talented and has good hands. Why he plays one snap a game I have no idea. I'm starring to think Riley is just a glorified QB coach. We have better RBs this year but we rarely use them even when they are running well. The TE came out of nowhere against WAS and made some plays but then we went away from him. UT's coach is a great coach because if something is working he's going to shove it down your throat until you stop it. What made Carrols teams so good is that every position was a threat in the offense. You can game for a couple receivers but it's hard to game for the WRs the RBs and the TE in the passing game. Pete utilized all of them. Crazy to say but I'm glad Caleb is leaving so we can see what Lincolns made of. He will be forced to look at all positions to figure out how he will win next year

    The hot seat is actually the criticism from the media that is in full force. The question is, will he want to put up with the scrutiny, or will he just leave for the NFL or a lower profile job. It’s hard to tell if he is cut out to handle this media scrutiny. While I have the same thoughts, we’re all saying the same thing, but… the consequences of this trashing will undoubtedly have a negative effect on recruiting.. Even kids who grew up idolizing USC will listen to the bashing and choose a friendlier place to go.

    7 -5? They were really 5-7, because they beat AZ and Cal by one point, the former in triple overtime and the latter because Cal went for a 2-point conversion on the last play of the game. THEY WERE REALLY 5-7. And, hey, if CO had recovered the onside kick on the last possession, then they, too, would have, in all likelihood, driven down the field on that horrible defense and beat USC. The Trojans were that close to being 4 - 8.

Recruiting battles between usc and ucla should always go int USC’s favor, that’s like Oklahoma losing recruiting battles to Oklahoma state or Texas losing recruiting battles to Texas tech or bama losing recruiting battles to auburn. I just loved this show. I feel bad for Greg with his connection. I could hear him trying to reconnect but no video! Anyway, back to the topic at hand. If CLR makes a good DC hire that will be the first good move. The second one will be to start handing out bag$ of ca$h to those blue chip five star players on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
    USC has the ability to do so, and even with more cash than any program in the country. Let's please use that kind of leverage and find ourselves competing at the highest levels. Those two things, along with good coaching and player development on both sides of the ball will help tremendously on our way to truly becoming an elite team.

    I don't think it is as easy as bringing an offensive minded coach and excellent defensive coordinator. If this was true why hasn't this done before? Why hasn't other schools taken this approach. The point I am trying to make is 100% Lincoln Riley. He is not a leader of men. Also, its culture. The fact that USC players quit during that game speaks to more about belief in program. Do you really think Lincoln and flip the switch?

    I totally disagree with Eric, and more in agreement with Greg...That schedule next year, is going to be way tougher than what the typical USC fan understands. Because, USC lacks discipline, toughness, and tenacity. We have a lot more talent than a lot of those schools, but I live on the East Coast, and I see Big-10 constantly on rotation with a lot of alumni in the DMV from Big-10. SC will better learn quickly how to tackle or Rutgers, Maryland, Wisconsin and Michigan St, all mid-tier teams in the Big-10, will give them fits, because it won't be 4 wide sets. They want to run downhill!!

He was a few plays away from losing 7 games in 2021...? Luckily for Oklahoma they was able to win several close games that year. He won some close games last year and still lost 3. LR is a cancer on this team ... they would be better off just playing with no coaches ... just take turns running ML,AJ,DB ... easy

    LR is not saying just a few tweaks etc. Greg you need to listen to everything he's said . Most of the chattering class hear what they want to hear and just spew it out. It's obvious you're a LR hater.

    Listen USC fan…. Your team quit on you just like LR quit on Oklahoma. That is your new culture. Your Hiesmen winner doesn't even acknowledge his last home game for you because he doesn't care about USC. You guys tried to pay for success and it has failed.

    But you still out in the season losing the cow by probably 15 points that’s what this unexplainable about Lincoln Riley. I’m sorry, but a guy by the name of Lincoln in lacity Doesn’t belong in Southern California we need a regular guy may be a youth UNC grad

    Just a suggestion for a new viewer of this show. Fast forward to Chris on every question as he is the most knowledgeable and entertaining. That way you don't have to hear Marc who is the Master of the Obvious, Erik who smiles the entire time he talks about his kids, and Greg who will tell you about the teams and stories of John McKay which happened 48-60 years ago.

    SC will never win a National Title under Riley. He is innovative on offense no doubt about it. But an overall national title coach? I just dont see it. On a top level of toughness does Lincoln Riley match Saban, Smart, Meyer.. on a second level, Harbaugh, Day, Brian Kelley. On a third level, Lanning, Wittingham, Peterson. On a fourth level James Franklin, Deboer, Swinney. Lincoln Riley will never change his practices to allow his offensive skill guys to get hit in risk of injury being 1 on 1’s. This is a Mike Leach rule that Lincoln follows as all Air Raid coaches follow. Mike Stoops could not co exist with Riley at OU and as bad as it was on defense this was the problem. It was scout team only for competition for game situations and tackling. An utter failure facing top teams & tackling in space. A top DC as in Leonhard will want to hire his own staff. Can Riley step aside and let his friendship in coaches as Brian Odom & Manning let go. Leonhard with all eggs in one basket must be allowed his own entire staff. Fire Bennie Wiley and let him produce his aerobic strength training DVD’s on QVC. Bennie has no business as a strength coach at any top program as well with SC. With a new QB coming in as talented as he is the Oline must be tough and run the ball dominating the line of scrimmage. Throw the bank at Bill Bedenbaugh at Oklahoma and your oline troubles will evaporate immediately!! Fight On!!

    You guys have had a horrible culture ever since Carrol left. LR doesn’t understand how to build a physical culture.
    Why do you usc fans think you are some kind of Mecca for football. Ince Caleb leave you guys will have nothing. LR has zero loyalty to USC just like OU.
