  • Welcome to UB Studio :) I am Yubi, photographer and an artist based in Oklahoma currently.
Another art vlog! I was sooo excited to share my last vlog and I have been filming during my final assignments! This time the collection has changed a little bit as I decided to add a bit of a crafted frame- with coffee dipped paper. How romantic is that. My references are old Daguerrotypes which are old old versions of photography back in 19th century. Hope you enjoy my new artworks and can't wait to share them on my blog soon :)

Hello! Thanks for visiting today🤍 The ripped frames are surprisingly just coffee dipped papers! easy to rip. Replicating the old Daguerreotypes! :)

What paper are you using to print images? Please and thank you😁

      Hello Tina! ☺️
For these series I usually use Strathmore Watercolor paper 9x12 size 300gsm, white. I print on Canon Pixma MG2522 photo printer! (i love these cheap but sturdy printers) 👍🏻

    Hi Yubi,
    First excuse my English.
I ask myself if you put a clear gesso layer on your photo before working on it? If not, which kind of paper do you use to print your photos?
I love your work, it’s really a very nice way to personalize your photos. Bravo!

Hello Lucie! Thanks for your question :)
No, I don't have any layers on my paper- I print directly on watercolor paper from strathmore 300gsm. I think the way I edit my photos already has some kind of haze which makes the print look hazy and vintage. Thanks for visiting my works, I appreciate it☺️ let me know if you have more questions 👍🏻

@@yubistudio yes Yubi, I have an other question. To be sure, which printer do you use? I suppose it’s also a laser printer but which mark? Thank you so much! From Montréal.

@@luciebergeron2274 Hello Lucie, wow! Montreal. So great to hear from so far☺️ I use canon MG2522, it's a small, affordable printer that used to be sold at Walmart! I got it online for like $60. If you are looking for a hazy look, I would recommend to edit your photos with your dark point of the curve a bit high while editing (hope this makes sense!). Otherwise, I think the paper does a good job as a regular watercolor paper👍🏻
