Now to Lao and Neenee Lao Life marry in Vientiane Laos. A real Traditional Lao wedding. Pt1 shows you the Groom's procession with musicians, singers and traditional Lao dancers as they walk along with family and friends of the groom to the Brides house for the traditional ceremony. Full of tradition, Lao customs and culture, this video shows you from the start of the Groom's procession to finish, just before the Wedding ceremony starts.
The wedding ceremony will be the Pt2.
This video is Pt2 The wedding ceremony, held directly after the groom's procession. Capturing most of the traditional customs involved in a Lao wedding. After the ceremony we dress in traditional Lao Phuthai clothing and dance and celebrate with guests before things become a little more relaxed in the afternoon while waiting for the evenings wedding reception.
Pt3 will be the wedding reception!!

Ahh. I thoroughly enjoyed watching your wedding. Although was born in Vientiane, Laos we immigrated to the US when I was a child. Now I will definitely be visiting your restaurant when I visit Laos.
Our culture is very different from most Asian cultures. One way or another every Lao person will know of another or the families. We all know each other. You just have to ask who their parents are. No matter what part of the world we are in. I love that!

At one Lao wedding I went to, the women were laughing and whooping throughout the ceremony. I asked my friend what was going on and she said the shaman was challenging the grooms sexual prowess. Only in Laos!
Some fun facts about Lao wedding: The Baci Ceremony is not from Buddhism or Hinduism but rather Brahmanism " sartsana parm" which is proto Hinduism. Hinduism is 4000 years old. Also the dowry is given to the bride side as opposed to Indian dowry. The master of ceremony call for the holy spirits.
The Baci Ceremony is also held with every pesonal milestones.
